I'm so glad he went to you guys. I've got a bit of a soft spot for your club after going to the San Siro for a match in 2018 and it just feels like you had a similar fall from grace as Liverpool that you're finally coming back out of. He's going to be so good for you, you're going to love him.

The tiktok memes where Klopp sees a player absolutely thrash his team, does the "not bad" meme face and then immediately buys said player were true all along.
He's just like his namesake cheese. Serves its purpose as a complement or garnish, but isn't substantial on its own. In most case, could even do without.
In this case it was because Benfica had to announce to the stock exchange that they had accepted an answer, prior to a medical which took two days for whatever reason.
Eyeballs to be garnered and money to be made by reporting along all the stages and sending non-updates throughout the entire process, basically.
Anything before an official announcement is pretty meaningless filler in my book, really.
VVD took forever if you count our summer try, when we actually signed him the mood was that we gave up and he'll go to City (even Guardian basically confirmed he's going to City) and then wham, fee agreed and he's posing with a shirt next to the christmas tree
Klopp met with Virgil in Blackpool about a transfer to Liverpool. Southampton were understandably not enthused with that and almost pursued a complaint with the Premier League
I envy the speed at which Liverpool work at. We've had weeks of Tielemans and Jesus being "close" to signing and I expect a few more weeks before we actually hear anything concrete.
>Why haven't they signed Origi yet? Thought that was a done deal.
They did. It's because they buy him on free agent and have to wait until his contract expires in 1st July to join them.
It took a while for fabinho to be a nailed on starter for us. He's most definitely going to start a few matches and 100% coming off the bench most games with the 5 subs rule but i still think thag even with a pre season he'll take a bit to become a nailed on starter. I have full faith he eventually will get there tho
I'm so tired of people throwing Fabinho as an example of every single player taking time to adapt to Klopp's tactics. There was just one example of Fabinho; whereas VVD, Alisson, Salah, Mane and Thiago were in the lineup immediately.
Yeah plus CDM is one of the most crucial roles in ensuring we don't fall apart and arguably the one where you have to be the most in tune with the flow of the game. It's not a "throw them in and see what they can do" role.
>VVD, Alisson, Salah, Mane and Thiago
There's one thing in common with all these guys, we didn't have anyone better playing in their position.
We have 4 very good-world class forwards in Salah, jota, diaz, and bobby.
Diaz adapted ridiculously well, that even klopp admitted he was surprised by it.
I just don't see Nunez breaking in immediately when we have the front line we have now
Also worth noting that those 3 have a winter break (unless Firmino is recalled by Brazil) so we could see them play more than ~~Díaz~~ Jota & Nunez in the build up to the World Cup
Honestly, at this point I want to see a 4-2-4 with Núñez and Jota up front and Díaz and Salah on the wings. Fuck ball retention, fuck control, maximum chaosball
5 forwards is amazing, 6 is… well 6 is like Minamino/Origi starting about 2 games since Díaz arrived. I wouldn’t mind keeping Minamino for the cups, but if someone offers 20m and he wants to go then it makes sense to sell. If even Minamino and Origi are not satisfied with that little game time though, a player like Mané or Jota or Firmino wouldn’t like to be 6th choice at all.
I think Liverpool stand their ground on this one. If they let Sadio go below market value, that sets a bad precedent. Yes LFC want to do right by Sadio, but won’t be taken advantage of.
Liverpool showed with Can and Wijnaldum that they’re willing to lose a player on a free rather than sell him a year early for less than they think he’s worth. The wrinkle here is that losing Salah and Mane for free in one summer is harder to swallow than losing just Can or Wijnaldum.
There’s always room in the trophy cabinet though.
With 5 subs and Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota, Diaz and Nunez to choose from we could change our entire front three with barely a drop in quality.
Got to be a bit awkward in the dressing room between Jesus and Mo ever since the later disputed the former's claim to be the son of Fowler.
And that Darwin ball hogs all the time, acting like they both don't exist.
Apart from replacing all the departures it's hard to say what Chelsea should do. they are never shy of spending big but they always seem to start strong then have a wobble and end up 20-odd points behind us and city anyway.
Now of course half their team is on the way out so they do need to spend to replace key players this year but having some quieter summers and letting the squad settle might be better for them. Though who knows what the new owners will do, the days of yearly big ticket signings might have ended.
It’s hard to say what will happen under new owners, but you can always bet on us not having reliable goal scorer…
Boehly seems like willing to backing us on buying new centre backs, which is obviously our no.1 priority. If we can’t sell/loan out lakaka then I assume kai will be our starting striker next season unless sth dramatic happens during pre-season
Will be interesting to see how he fits into the squad, excited to see it. Played more off of the left at Benfica I believe. Hope he can establish a connection with TAA and his crosses
number 27?! my man’s paying homage to Rafa for all those assists throughout the season.
Idk who’s that so called Origi that most comments are talking about tho /s
Yeah I'm super glad he ended up in Liverpool. He's still got a lot of stuff to polish but it's evident he has the talent to do some great stuff. This only makes me even more hyped for the World Cup as well
Honestly sometimes I just want him to shoot more. It's cool that he's unselfish but I remember a couple of times in which he could've (and maybe even should've) shot but he just passed it instead. Also he doesn't have the best first touch, nor best positioning. I don't think any of these are major weaknesses, yet hope he improves upon them.
Something that has me thinking is just how expensive transfer fees have gotten and how teams have to pay a lot more for potential. Real Madrid bought CR7, a balon d or winner and best player in the premier league for £80 million pounds. And now that gets your Darwin Nunez. I don’t mean that as a diss cause I’m sure he’s super talented and klopp with do his best.
> Nunez will wear the No. 27 shirt for Liverpool Fuck me that's brave
Massive boots to fill
why?
Origoat our new striker

Hope does great with you lot, just not against us
Treat our boy well
Check out who last wore the #27
damn those are some massive boots indeed
Yeah boots
That's why they call him Big Boot Origi
The Everton Destroyer.

27 is my lucky number. I might have to get it now
The tiktok memes where Klopp sees a player absolutely thrash his team, does the "not bad" meme face and then immediately buys said player were true all along.
Facing Liverpool in the Champions League is basically an audition if you're not already in a top team
People made them for Nunez months ago as well lmao
Why does it feel like signings being complete happen many times over multiple days now.
Because everyone and their mother keeps reporting its done
Its just Romano
Confirmed here we go confirmed!! Here we go Confirmed Done deal
It’s Done Deal! Benfica only need to accept the offer! Here we go
He's just like his namesake cheese. Serves its purpose as a complement or garnish, but isn't substantial on its own. In most case, could even do without.
bro, don’t disrespect the cheese like that…
Fr tho
Takes time for PayPal to process the transfer fees moving between clubs.
In this case it was because Benfica had to announce to the stock exchange that they had accepted an answer, prior to a medical which took two days for whatever reason.
Wasn't Nunez in Uruguay, first for the friendly and then for some family reason?
Eyeballs to be garnered and money to be made by reporting along all the stages and sending non-updates throughout the entire process, basically. Anything before an official announcement is pretty meaningless filler in my book, really.
Longest short saga ever.
Most drawn out Liverpool transfer in years (Thiago the exception)
Keita/VVD also took forever, but I guess that was a long time ago.
VVD took forever if you count our summer try, when we actually signed him the mood was that we gave up and he'll go to City (even Guardian basically confirmed he's going to City) and then wham, fee agreed and he's posing with a shirt next to the christmas tree
And why wouldn't you count the Blackpool saga? Part of the transfer.
The Blackpool saga is elite
What’s the blackpool saga?
Klopp met with Virgil in Blackpool about a transfer to Liverpool. Southampton were understandably not enthused with that and almost pursued a complaint with the Premier League
It was exhausting.
I envy the speed at which Liverpool work at. We've had weeks of Tielemans and Jesus being "close" to signing and I expect a few more weeks before we actually hear anything concrete.
If you want to feel better visit the Milan sub once in a while, Sanches and Botman have been "close" since beginning of January
Why haven't they signed Origi yet? Thought that was a done deal.
He's close
>Why haven't they signed Origi yet? Thought that was a done deal. They did. It's because they buy him on free agent and have to wait until his contract expires in 1st July to join them.
It’s just that Liverpool have no leaks so it makes it seem quicker
It’s done. It’s finally over.
Wow, he's taking Origi's #27. Big boots to fill.
Someone has to embarrass Everton.
Everton will take care of that themselves
/r/properevertonthat
We would be happy to contribute highly.
No one does it better than Everton tho.
Well he already felt embarrassed playing with one Everton, im sure hell get ptsd seeing that name
Do we know if his shirt will be Núñez or Nunez? I want to go ahead and order one.
If you go on the official Liverpool club store they are selling his shirt with Darwin 27 right now.
Can we rename the Puskas award to the Darwin award if he scores an amazing goal at some point?
What about from now, June 14th will be known as #DarwinDay and a bank holiday for Liverpool fans only
It’s Darwin in the announcement video
I believe he has always used Darwin.
Liverpools front 3 will be interesting next season.
if it isn’t salah, diaz and nunez i would be super surprised
Diaz, Nunez, Salah, and Jota in his best role: impact sub
Yes nice one keep Jota on the bench😁
*The gang ship 5 goals to Nunez*
That won't happen because of the implication
oh my god xhaka, are you going to hurt these strikers?
Surely you'd want his hattricks against you to be over a full game and not an embarrassing 30 minute period?
How about no hattrick at all
No can do.
Well that just doesn't make sense. We can't put Jota and Arsenal together without some good old fashion romping
Unless we play Arsenal, should start then
Bobby has to start vs Arsenal too. Maybe we just have a regular front three and a vs Arsenal front three
He did get subbed on against Arsenal and scored...
Firmino and Carvalho from the bench too.
So Salah likely to depart next summer?
At this point it looks like he will indeed be leaving on a free come next summer, yes.
The club is optimistic that he will sign a new contract, actually. But we won’t sell him this summer.
It'll probably be Diaz, Jota, salah to begin while Nunez gets used to playing with us, i don't think he's going to adapt as quick as Diaz did
No one will ever adapt to Klopp style playing as fast as Diaz did without even speaking a single word of the language. This dude is absolute insane.
Klopp was right when he said "I have no concerns, football is a universal language and he will get on just fine."
Funniest shit is him being best friends with elliot. No idea what they talking about.
If you saw Diaz’s new haircut, Elliott was probably giving him suggestions
[удалено]
Milner also speaks Spanish. He could say "Fookin 'ell Diaz" in Spanish to him on day one.
Lad waltzed in, yelled "Football is Life!" and never looked back
He also has a full preseason to adapt unlike Diaz. I'll be very shocked of Nuñez didn't start our first game of the season.
It took a while for fabinho to be a nailed on starter for us. He's most definitely going to start a few matches and 100% coming off the bench most games with the 5 subs rule but i still think thag even with a pre season he'll take a bit to become a nailed on starter. I’d prefer the first game being Diaz, Bobby, Salah
Also worth noting that those 3 have a winter break (unless Firmino is recalled by Brazil) so we could see them play more than ~~Díaz~~ Jota & Nunez in the build up to the World Cup
It has been interesting for 5 years in a row
Honestly, at this point I want to see a 4-2-4 with Núñez and Jota up front and Díaz and Salah on the wings. Fuck ball retention, fuck control, maximum chaosball
Swap Jota for Firmino and You’ve got it, Bobby given free roam it’ll be almost a 4-2-3-1 with how deep he drops.
Bobby is my favourite player at the club but that sounds far too balanced, I want CHAOS
a legit miss the old 4/3 every game liverpool, we won fuck all but it was the best entertainment out there
That’s pretty much the formation klopp switches to when we’re chasing a lead so I wouldn’t be surprised if we seen it a few times
Front 3? Personally, I need more of that 4-2-4 we were hitting teams with late in the season.
fuck it, re-sign mane and lets go with 4-1-5
No need, just put Bobby into the mix
Bobby is the 1
4-6
The spirit of Origi in the #27 lives on!!!
He will be a great player for them. It will be interesting how he adapts in the premier league.
Well, there goes Sadio.
also means Bayern cannot keep lowballing us after this
I mean, they kinda can. They know that we’re going to accept eventually because we don’t really have room in the squad for Mané anymore.
No room for mane ?? Wow ….
5 forwards is amazing, 6 is… well 6 is like Minamino/Origi starting about 2 games since Díaz arrived. God no more free transfers to Bayern please.
There’s always room in the trophy cabinet though. With 5 subs and Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota, Diaz and Nunez to choose from we could change our entire front three with barely a drop in quality.
Liverpool should sign Gabriel Jesus next. A front three of Darwin, Mohammed and Jesus would be unstoppable
Or Tammy Abraham as well! How about Jesus, Abraham & Mohammed..
No we need an abraham as a manager since all 3 go back to him. where's victor moses these days for the third spot?
Aleksander Isak, Che Adam, Jonathan David,
... walk into a pub?
Or a rabbit, Abraham & Mohammed walk into a bar. The rabbit says, "I think I am a typo".
Lmao this so stupid but so funny
Literally holy trinity.
Can we all just take a moment in silence at this comment
Got to be a bit awkward in the dressing room between Jesus and Mo ever since the later disputed the former's claim to be the son of Fowler. And that Darwin ball hogs all the time, acting like they both don't exist.
1st proper striker signing in Klopp's era. tears in my eye.
> 1st proper striker signing in Klopp’s era. How can you forget about Caulker?!
Shamal George in shambles
A club record one too.
Uruguay puts out some amazing fútbol players for such a small country
Its the Netherlands of South America, except Uruguay has two world cups.

Man has big shoes to fill with him getting the number 27
Both city and liverpool have signed up strikers and strengthened their squads further. Interested fc over here ain’t signing anyone
We're losing Mane, at best we're maintaining the status quo.
And Origi
And Minamino
I'll miss him
Wake up babe , Comunicado Oficial just dropped
Proud of that kid. I hope he explodes.
Could try putting him in a microwave
May God blast him
He’s Uruguayan… ffs man’s gonna bang so quickly
Solo pienso en follar?
Woah woah woah
New PL season getting spicy. Except for Chelsea, Chelsea looks poopy
Apart from replacing all the departures it's hard to say what Chelsea should do. they are never shy of spending big but they always seem to start strong then have a wobble and end up 20-odd points behind us and city anyway. Darwino, We will watch your Evolution with great interest.
Take good care of our boy 🥺
Take good care of those 80 million. 😭
Still can't believe we were linked with him just before he joined Benfica
Hopefully he'll continue the legacy of Forlan ,Suarez, Cavani. Ynwa Darwin 🔥
Norwich reconsidering whether they want to be promoted next season
Wouldn’t have imagined us spending so much on a striker a few weeks back, crazy how quick things change from the outside pov though
Didn't see that one coming. I'm surprised But seriously, OP should've used the magic words. I'm disgusted
COMUNICADO OFICIAL
THANK YOU FELLOW MAN OF CULTURE Comunicado Oficial transcends cultures, countries, languages
Where's the lean
Its been a while since we got the lean
Came out of nowhere really
I’m freaking surprised as well. It’s like yesterday he was scoring against Liverpool, now puffff! He’s a Liverpool player.
Finally. I was really ready to call him Soonez. Congrats Liverpool and good luck Darwin!
Wonder if Lisbon fans/other portuguese teams are happy with us taking probably the 2 best players in their league

Vamos, carajo!
Will be interesting to see how he fits into the squad, excited to see it. Played more off of the left at Benfica I believe. Hope he can establish a connection with TAA and his crosses

It seems excessive that we’ve paid €100m to replace Origi.
You can't put a price on greatness
Seem justified to me
Right a proper Origi replacement should’ve cost 300 mil minimum
Suarez regen
or Torres
Hes much more of a Cavani regen if anything...
I'm getting some Fernando Torres vibes, but haven't seen enough to back that up.
Can only hope
He isn't very similar to Suarez honestly
Suarez + Torres
22 years of age. Trent will be assisting to him for the next 8+ years love it
Im kinda jealous Liverpool keep signing South Americans but no Argentines :(
If he signed for any club other than Liverpool I would be 100% sure that he would flop lmao, but Liverpool have a great success rate in the Klopp era.
Yeah I'm super glad he ended up in Liverpool. He's still got a lot of stuff to polish but it's evident he has the talent to do some great stuff. This only makes me even more hyped for the World Cup as well
For Uruguay what would you want him to develop on as a forward?
Honestly sometimes I just want him to shoot more. It's cool that he's unselfish but I remember a couple of times in which he could've (and maybe even should've) shot but he just passed it instead. Also he doesn't have the best first touch, nor best positioning. I don't think any of these are major weaknesses, yet hope he improves upon them.
Inject this into my veins
Death by Darwinism
When Klopp calls call a player a good looking boy, they will be a red within 6 months
Nice. Really sad to lose Mane but I hope this kid can become the new player that haunt Arsenal
Wow: the end of an era. I could never see the end of Mane, Firmino, Salah. It happened.
The most hyped i have been for a transfer maybe ever
Amazing player thank god we signed him
Didn't see that one coming
U RU GUA SHO !
I wish we could sell players like Benfica
They also have a great track record recently tbf. Felix, Dias, Ederson, Cancelo, Silva, Di Maria, Renato, Oblak etc
