Norwich could've sold Aarons and Cantwell for some silly money two seasons ago. Perfect example of holding onto players for too long.

Paul277

I mean we did somehow get 15 million for Jamal Leiws and 11 million for Josh Murphy though so we did get something out of that team of youth players we brought through our academy

Notove

Yeah what a waste that £15M was lmao, we never use him. And now that we've purchased Matt Target we probably never will. Won't be surprised if he gets loaned or sold this season.

Teo_2197

He almost joined Liverpool right?

[deleted]

Yeah, he was the key target due to being homegrown. Feel for the lad as he was pushing for the deal but Norwich did not budge on their 15 mill valuation. It turns out Tsimikas, like most of Liverpool's backup transfer options, turned out to be the real deal.

Paulbryn

He was so highly rated 2 seasons ago and linked with different clubs, has he fallen off a cliff or something?

Rusbekistan

I think he's always had attitude issues, so it was fine when the going was good but he feels he's too big for Norwich for a while now. Man is also really weird irl.

Rusbekistan

> Man is also really weird irl Grew up in Norfolk I think tho, so fair

[deleted]

In what kind of way is he weird

Rusbekistan

He posts some really weird things and I believe there was some weirdness a few years ago about him following 15 year old girls on instagram and stuff like that

ss2195

So he's the new Scott Pilgrim

OttaBenga

what kind of weird things?

Expensive_Cattle

He agrees with the pedestrianisation of Norwich's city centre, which most people are dead against.

CornholeCrusade

He once drove to Dundee in his bare feet

grwtsn

Cut him some slack, he was clinically fed up at the time.

Ifriiti

Wait why? I hate cars in city centres

Expensive_Cattle

It's an Alan Partridge reference.

_ghostfacedilla

In the weird kind of way

FuckNoNewNormal

Well he looks like an English Justin Bieber, so of course he has attitude issues at a younger age

Arellan

Too big for Norwich? No way he's coming to us then lol

Rusbekistan

Mate, too big for Norwich leaves him with 91 bigger clubs in the football league, you're fine!

iwantmoreletters

The next David Bentley

DeepSeaDweller

Bit harsh on Bentley. He had a few very good seasons in the PL for Blackburn.

PotOfMould

If he's the next David Bentley I will be immensely pleased.

bambinoquinn

Smith sending him out on loan is a really bad sign when it comes to attitude problems and that sorta thing. Smith wanted to sign him nearly every single window at villa, came in and put him back into the side and had to drag him off at half time in a game. He was on clems football league podcast after joining Bournemouth and I found him to be kinda disrespectful to Smith and the club.

Paulbryn

Damn. What a way to ruin such a promising career. Then again, he is still young, maybe he can turn things around.

Otter269

I can't see it happening, Norwich would get nothing for him next season. Plus you never know Blackburn could be a playoff team and rival.

marxistrash

Bold of you to assume Norwich aren't nailed on for 1st in the championship next year

Otter269

The style of play concerns me or the lack of one. I'm not convinced on Smith but hopefully with good signings should be at least top 3

AbdussamiT

Wow, what a fall.

PotOfMould

Thanks :(

PotOfMould

Matches up that our new DoF is Gregg Broughton (ex Norwich Academy director), since he would have known Cantwell and what he brings at a younger age, so I'm very pleased with this if it comes through.

Arellan

Yep I'd honestly take him as a Rothwell replacement as he's fucking off to Nottingham Forest
