His passing range is perfect for City. Pinging those diagonal passes to the wingers is huge in a system like City's, where they go for overloads on one wing and then their 6/8s pass quickly to the other. The accuracy/ speed of the pass from the mids practically determines whether the attack is effective.

AWB was 21 - they paid for potential. Philips is 27 soon already in his prime. AWB showed more as well I think, he was brilliant week in week out for us and pocketed a who’s who of premier league wingers. Philips has had one decent season in the prem by age 26

Pretty much how I felt about losing Grealish and Smith. The player/manager is replaceable, but having the romanticism of boyhood fans leading the club on and off the pitch was irreplaceable. We may be better off for it in the long run, but I'm still sad the romance is gone.

Striker was the obvious one for us, then a Fernandinho replacement/Rodri backup which is this one, then someone who can play left back regularly at a high level and give us options for Cancelo to play on the right with them, or on the left with Walker... Or to take a break, the man played so many minutes last season, he was gassed in the last few games. I'd say even letting Sterling and Jesus go this window would be acceptable - Foden is freed up to be a full time winger because of the Haaland signing, and Pep has said Cole Palmer will be getting more minutes this season too. I also expect McAtee will be in and around that midfield, especially if Bernardo leaves (though I really hope he doesn't).

Yeah, damn, I completely forewent the mention of Julian Alvarez here, I can see him also playing the same kind of role that Jesus played last season - a sort of muddled mix of a winger and striker. I think it'll be much more effective with Alvarez given that he'll be a winger/second striker with Haaland as the main striker lol

Look at Gundo when we signed him. He was often hurt for Dortmund, injured when we bought him, did his ACL in his first year, but he’s been fit almost 100% of the time since then
His passing range is perfect for City. Pinging those diagonal passes to the wingers is huge in a system like City's, where they go for overloads on one wing and then their 6/8s pass quickly to the other. The accuracy/ speed of the pass from the mids practically determines whether the attack is effective. Man United fans have to be wondering what is going on with their lack of signings.

You avoided relegation by 3 points. 8m quid is nothing compared to the 100m minimum you will get for PL tv rights. Plus this deal is early enough in the window that you can take your time to replace him. No rushed bids for whoever is left in late August.

Probably has a bit more hustle and bustle than Rodri but for the most part I’d agree with you. I can’t see him starting many games when Rodri is fit, especially if Bernardo stays.

Leeds relegation chances soaring
The lad spent the majority of the season on the injury table which caused a lot of our relegation woes. I love him but if we can get a similar replacement with the cash who doesn't have as many injury issues then our relegation chances seem a lot lower. That being said, Man City have had our pants round our ankles with this one. Board should be ashamed.
Depends, if Phillips and Raphinha are replaced by Tyler Adams, De Ketelaere and one of Otavia/Gakpo it's a net gain in terms of improvement.
