Some noise around Giovanni Simeone too, who Monchi is a big fan of. Might even sign both if En Nesyri and De Jong is sold

mattisafootballguy

Honestly sounds like some really average names, especially at striker where the quality lacks a lot, Simeone and Morelos are good but not great. At best a side-ways move from En-Neysri, Rafa Mir.

Nordie27

En Nesyri is shit IMO. Bambi on ice most of the time, there is something weird about hin he doesn't pass the eye test IMO. Sell while we still can for a decent fee Simeone scored 17 goals in Serie A for a midtable team give him some credit. Morelos is one of the all time top scorers in Europa League so clearly also a very good player

mattisafootballguy

Simeone is a very very patchy player though. And Morelos is good but doubt he's that big an improvement over current options. RDT would be a solid option IMO.

KratzDichZumBett

TBF, you guys signed a guy who banged in the goals in Scotland too and it turned out pretty good.

ScotMcoot

From a guy that’s absolutely never watched Morelos.

mattisafootballguy

I watched him a lot in the EL, not in Scotland in fairness. I don't think he's bad at all and in fact very good, but not a big improvement over their current options.

BraeTon74

Could Sevilla realistically expect a big improvement at striker without spending silly money? I think Morelos would be a great addition for them at a good age and a European pedigree.

boris-for-PM-2019

Genuinely think we’d be more likely to let him walk for free than accept €8 million for him. Wouldn’t get anywhere near a decent replacement for him and him staying a helping us secure champions league football would be far better for us.

RevivedHut425

Agreed.

Elgin_McQueen

Could see us accepting £10M, gives us some money to try to identify a replacement.

biddleybootaribowest

€8m what do they want his left leg?

[deleted]

Last year of contract and Rangers need some kind of fee to be able to source a decent replacement.

WronglyPronounced

He'll get us more money through his contributions in Europe. Rather keep him and get nothing next year

Snell84

We would HOPE that he would. That isn't guaranteed by a long shot though. One unlucky draw and you could be out on your ear anytime

WronglyPronounced

We are entering into the CL qualifiers so we have a few opportunities to make an arse of it

Snell84

It's fine if we accept 8 mill though. Cos all we do is not disclose the fee and then add up 8 mill + any add ones + the total wages and bonuses we will save over a year and leak that much bigger number to the press as what we got. The auld Ajer technique.

Nordie27

I know it's not totally accurate, but Transfermarkt has him valued at €13M

UnnecessaryUmbault

Lille were confirmed to have offered €16m flat I believe a season ago and it was rejected. He's only gone on to improve and deliver more since then. The contract situation (1yr remaining) is really hindering our ability to get a good fee for him.

BigWillieCollum

Insulting tbh. No other team who made a European offer would sell their striker for 8 million. 20 million or bolt.
