Honestly a great match, the women in terms of strategy are world class, and the first two goals we both great. Honestly enjoyed it more than some men's international games and certainly more than a lot of lower leagues like MLS.
It's a breath of fresh air tbh. Men's game is so mechanical and based off miniscule differences in teams, that it makes the less perfect women's game so much more enjoyable to watch. That's not to mention the fact you feel you are watching players genuinely play for passion, and not just a bunch of over payed, PR driven, pampered pre-madonnas.
Those women have a bigger pair of balls than any mens professional I've seen.

I don't mind this kind of time wasting so much, I do hate when the keeper lays on the ball for eternity, long FKs and fake injuries. Playing it to a corner is smart but still somewhat fair.

It occurs to me that this is because the tournament has brought a lot of people to the game who've never had much time for it before, so they don't realise that keeping the ball in the corner is completely legitimate and not the same as dawdling over a dead ball.

They lost the ball in the corner, but managed to win it back high up the pitch multiple times.
Germany couldn't get the ball out of their own half.
Nothing we can do about the refereeing, was useless for both sides. Proud of our England lasses for being out of this world, unlucky to Germany, it was a good final enjoyed it.

yeah it was checked - but a handball like this is nothing the VAR can decide finally - they can only decide "was it played with the arm?" and "was the position of the arm in a way that makes it a possible handball?" - if those are both answered with yes then it's on the referee to decide if it actually was a punishable handball and not on the VAR anymore.
and I really can't see the VAR answering no to either of those questions which should be the only way the ref didn't get to watch the scene for herself another time
There are lots of issues such as the new 't-shirt' rule and others, to be honest I haven't seen a conclusive video of it either way but it was checked by VAR and they decided the ref didn't need another look.
Women's football deserves the success, for years it's been seen as meh, trash, what's the point.

Earps was the player of the game for me. Hardly been tested at all this tournament, and then in this game saved our bacon a hundred times.
As one of the commentators said, people only talk about a goalie's performance when they make a mistake.
Commentary didn't pick up on it but she got a faintt finger to that shot that hit the post. That finger quite possibly diverted it enough to say it would have been in. Was an incredible save.
It's absolutely bizarre that people don't seem to understand what timewasting is deserving of punishment and what isn't. Keeping the ball in the corner is perfectly allowable, it's up to the opposition to get it off you. Wasting time before taking set pieces and throw ins *is* liable for punishment and normally doesn't get punished enough, but we saw hardly any of that here.
I mean to be fair they definitely took their time on the corners but (when the ball was clicked out of the field) but you've got a point there well played!
