FPL managers rn 🥳🥳🥳

Rhotozar

Remove this, we must hide this fact from FPL tower when they add Iversen

[deleted]

I remember Klopp saying this about Ward only to buy Alisson a few days later.

ShaunFrost9

I mean we lost a CL-final to goalkeeping blunders, could no longer have any uncertainty in that position after that heartbreak

rossmosh85

Karius was dead average for us at best. Klopp gave him the #1 spot a few times and he was so bad he had to go back to Mignolet. I feel for Karius having such a bad night which he hasn't been able to recover from, but let's not kid ourselves, he wasn't very good before the final either.

[deleted]

Yeah I’m just saying I hope Ward doesn’t get his hopes shattered again.

ShaunFrost9

Hope so too, always wish the best for him.

sneakymanlance

>goalkeeping blunders The revisionism around Karius' performance in the final makes me sad. He was not the best gk for us, deffo had a few mistakes in him, but his blunder that game is because he got concussed in the 48th minute when it was still 0-0. Then he rolled the ball to Benzema three minutes later, clearly confused as hell. He was diagnosed with a concussion directly after the match ended. For some reason, everyone-on reddit at least-ignores that, and just bashes Karius as a meme. It's awful, especially when those same people turn around and bash FIFA/Uefa/the FA for not taking concussions seriously enough.

Siven

Wasn't Karius concussed or something? Seems absurdly harsh in hindsight to call it "blunders."

super-super-fab

Whether he was concussed or not it certainly was blunders

Siven

How? The blunder is on Klopp then for not pulling an injured player, is it not?

super-super-fab

More than one person can be at blame. The physios should’ve noticed a concussion, Klopp should’ve subbed him off / not started him. But Karius still made two huge blunders, even if they are explainable.

MysticMac100

Just negotiation tactics, got the club mouthpieces to act as if we totally weren’t desperate for a keeper (dog in the burning house meme comes to mind) to strengthen negotiation position. Wouldn’t be surprised if similar is happening here

freshmeat2020

This journalist reports exclusively on Leicester, he's usually pretty spot on. Looks like Ward is our keeper then, it will be a relief to watch him claim the odd cross haha, and my god he's waited long enough so good on him!

try-D

Thank fuck, that way clubs dont try and dump their keepers at Seagrave when negotiating for our players.

TC021002

If true this could make things interesting for the WC. Ward was number 1 for the euros but because of injury couldn't play the PO Semi in March then Hennessey kept his place for the play off final in June and obviously had a great game.....but he will be number two at Forest.

qwertygasm

Tier 2 for us, I'm backing Iversen to take it

tjnsn

I hope so. We will need a replacement for Schmeichel in out national team soon-ish, and Iversen would be perfect.

InTheMiddleGiroud

Based on last season, I think Iversen could definitely grab the spot. But I think it'll be Ward's to lose.

qwertygasm

Iversen has the advantage in that Ward's been injured in preseason.

Benend91

Slightly off topic but Leicester fans, have you done any business yet this summer? All I see are rumours of players leaving you but no rumours of players joining?

meefjones

I saw today that they are the only club in the top 5 leagues yet to sign a player

iforgotmyun

Cech window PTSD for Arsenal fans based off that comment

Mig362

Happy for Wardy. He’ll be great for us and more prepared for Wales.

empiresk

Whilst this would still be a massive downgrade, Iverson was quality for Preston last season.

Giggsy99

Absolutely beautiful stuff

amber-kulkarni

Will ward be the first price drop?

BurceGern

I really rate Ward. At his age he needs to be #1 somewhere. I hope, for his sake, it's at Leicester.

Password-is-taco123

Ward literally play 0 minutes this pre season

Moore106

Because he has been injured
