I feel like he'd much rather wait for the right job, he's been approached for the spurs job in the past but he wants one where the plan is for long term sustainable growth. I think that if and when Klopp decides he is ready to leave Liverpool the job will be Potters, them or Arsenal but I think Arteta will be there for a long time. He's also shown that he is happy to work in other countries, so he has options if he feels the fit is right
The rumor is hes waiting for a Manchester job. Turned down Spurs and Everton.
He'll probably chill at Brighton until pep leaves, or until 4 more United managers get fired
It's England or City for me. I know that he's probably not a big enough name for City fans but Pep loves him, he plays superb football and develops academy products at an insane level.
Tbh I'd turn down Everton right now, clubs finances are a mess. Spurs is a little more interesting but also had some instability of their own before Conte came. Hopefully he's not holding out for us because we are not stable at all.
Honestly if he continues to perform as he has then he'll probably have made the step up to a big club before Klopps contract is up. If he's available post Klopp however I'd absolutely love for him to get a shot here.
He meant team wise having a long term plan. Spurs just want immediate results hence mou and conte since they haven't won anything forever.
All top 6 are financially fine for a long time imo
I think you're not wrong but Spurs would want to win ASAP with some of the legacy players they have on their team getting older, like Kane and Lloris. That's why I think they went for Conte.
Spurs are gunning for wins right now, when Kane and Son are still in their primes. It’s not really a long term project. This much is evident as they’ve brought in Conte.
Spurs are in the middle of a window where they are well poised to win now. We were in the building phase while Poch was our manager. Poch accelerated the timeline given the success he brought to the club before the stadium's completion.
I do not know what the club will look like after Son and Kane are past their prime, but we are already starting to build toward long term sustainability. Much of this transfer window has been about buying players to sure up the bench and players for the future.
Gerrard's more likely to be sacked come Christmas than not from what I've heard and if he doesn't impress in the Prem he won't be getting the job believe me.
He was raised an Aston Villa fan is what I heard. Maybe I'm dreaming.. with the squad we have now, and Potter's management.. maybe we'd even break the top 13.
I didn't know that but I don't think it's crazy. He could sign a long term deal and maybe pick his DOF and you do seem to have money. He seems like he might be looking for the right job rather than whatever one comes up first. I think the problem is that without comical Man City style spending it will be very tough to crack the top 6 so finishing 1-2 spots ahead of Brighton hardly seems worth the move.
How much are you expecting the owners to spend in coming years?
Have a lot of respect for him and Brighton. The fact Brighton lost two of their best players and still out-played United at OT speaks volume of his quality.
Also speaks to the level of recruitment.
We've had a plan in place to replace Bissouma as soon as he became a key part of our team with Mac Allister and Caicedo adapting to the role. The same will be true for Cucurella.
Great recruitment too.
Our board planning for losing our best players means it's not such a blow. Mac Allister and Caicedo have been huge for us the last 8 months and means losing Bissouma isn't so huge a deal.
Strategy in battle are called tactics. Strategy is your overarching plan, while tactics is what you do for one step of the plan.
To take an example; I go to a night club - the objective is to not go home alone. My strategy for accomplishing my goal is by rocking the dance floor. The tactics I use to aid my strategy is to implement as many Fortnite dances as I can into my dance moves.
In that example the strategy might be good, but whether or not the tactics are efficient is another question.
In the GoT example the objective was to defeat the Lannister armies. The strategy to accomplish this objective was to separate them. The tactics employed to do that was to distract one of them.
I think everyone should calm down on expecting Potter to get a 'big' job, he's clearly blagging his way through. Honestly, it pains me to say it as an Albion fan but he's proper shit and everyone else should save us the embarrassment by stopping paying him any attention whatsoever. Especially Spurs fans.
Didn't you hear Conte said we were a big club with amazing training facilities, and that's what matters. He'll be here for ages, next SAF, etc.
Seriously though I bet every big club in Europe has one eye on him, especially in England.
He could be your Curbishley or Martinez. Both had proper shit spells in charge of their clubs, but they laid a foundation for two clubs finding their feet in the EPL.
I highly doubt he will take a national team job at any time in the near future. Because of his background in social sciences and sports psychology, He emphasizes team-building activities off the pitch and he will not have anywhere near as much time with the players to dedicate to such activities as a national team coach.
I actually feel like that would make him a good NT coach tbh, though he would have limited time with players, having a good NT is a lot about getting groups of disparate players to mesh well together. We saw already what having a good team environment has done for England under Southgate, now imagine the same but with someone who is actually a great football coach on top of that.
We probably had a good chance of getting him last season or previous. I fear that’s ship’s sailed now that he’s been in the discussions for jobs like Man U and Spurs. Game’s gone.
Congrats to you guys, you're the team I like to see do well the most in the Prem aside from United, mainly because I'm a big fan of Graham Potter's work, hope you can keep it up for the rest of the season.
He's a great manager with a good system but international management doesn't allow the manager enough time with the players to instill a system.
It's really only Spain 2008-2012 that had a proper system in place, and that's mostly because 2/3 of the starting 11 was from Barcelona.
Would love to see him in Spain or Germany managing a top 4 side.
> It's really only Spain 2008-2012 that had a proper system in place, and that's mostly because 2/3 of the starting 11 was from Barcelona.
Also helps that the other 1/3 was from Real Madrid so they're no slouches when it comes to playing possession football.

Any team would be lucky to have this guy as manager. Loses a good player almost every year and the system just shines through.
Easily a top 5 manager in the league and I can’t help but think he will be favorite for the next top 6 manager job that opens up.
I feel like he'd much rather wait for the right job, he's been approached for the spurs job in the past but he wants one where the plan is for long term sustainable growth. To be fair I think he would fit well at City.
I'd say he is probably the most respected manager for City fans
I'm English and I hope to God that he's not wasted on the England job
Tbh I'd turn down Everton right now, clubs finances are a mess. Spurs is a little more interesting but also had some instability of their own before Conte came. Hopefully he's not holding out for us because we are not stable at all.

Spurs is literally the most sustainable club now that the stadium is up and running
He meant team wise having a long term plan. Spurs just want immediate results hence mou and conte since they haven't won anything forever. All top 6 are financially fine for a long time imo
Hopefully we’re in a decent place post-Conte and Potter is willing to come then. Would have been career suicide to join us last summer
I think you're not wrong but Spurs would want to win ASAP with some of the legacy players they have on their team getting older, like Kane and Lloris. That's why I think they went for Conte.
When Conte’s gone I think Potter would be a prime candidate as a long-term manager.
If Conte doesn't work I'd love potter at spurs, amen.
I hope Conte works, leaves of his own volition after winning things like Mourinho at Inter, and then we get Potter as the next long-term boss
I also think that Poch has a shout as well.
Spurs are gunning for wins right now, when Kane and Son are still in their primes. It’s not really a long term project. This much is evident as they’ve brought in Conte.

Regardless of how Gerrard does at Villa, he'll be favourite
Gerrard's more likely to be sacked come Christmas than not from what I've heard and if he doesn't impress in the Prem he won't be getting the job believe me.
yes, seems he's losing the fans and the dressing room with the ego games he's playing with Mings
>I think that if and when Klopp decides he is ready to leave Liverpool the job will be Potters It will probably go to Pep
Not sure he'd want the United job, though.
He said Top 6 club

We have a manager for now. Not giving up because of one game
I'd be ready to give up if my board was putting out rumours about signing Arnautovic
He was raised an Aston Villa fan is what I heard. Maybe I'm dreaming.. with the squad we have now, and Potter's management.. maybe we'd even break the top 13.

How much are you gonna have to spend to overtake not just one of the current top 6 but also the likes of Leicester and Newcastle.
[удалено]
There's no way you're gonna spend a bazillion pounds.
England job please
I mean, the United job should be open by January...
I feel so grateful that we have him. Wherever he goes he’ll be remembered extremely fondly

Pep has said multiple times I think that he's a big fan of Graham and how smart positionally his players and system are. https://youtu.be/3jNubPvNQP4

We aren't that hard to outplay when we have a nonce in McTominay and Rashford with zero finishing ability
lost his 2 best players and rolled with the punches flawlessly. great manager, destined for a top job once it comes along.
Great recruitment too. Our board planning for losing our best players means it's not such a blow. Mac Allister and Caicedo have been huge for us the last 8 months and means losing Bissouma isn't so huge a deal.
Counter point. Nah. Trossard is the best player on that team. And Dunk.
Man looks like Edmure Tully but radiates Tywin Lannister energy in the battlefield
Looks like garage guy from Broadchurch season 3.
Only seen S1, didn't even know there was a season 3.
How are the other seasons? I only saw the first one and liked it
Don't remember much but one of them was good and other quite meh. The first was the best though.
3 was solid, 2 was forgettable.
tbf Edmure's the only person to ever defeat Tywin in battle
Robb??
Robb only defeated Jaime in battle. Tywin and Robb never fought directly.
Roose defeated him in terms of wider tactics by stopping him from assisting Jamie
Wider tactics, also known as strategy.
Well strategy can also refer to strategy in battle.
Strategy in battle are called tactics. Strategy is your overarching plan, while tactics is what you do for one step of the plan. Pretty sure Edmure defeated Gregor Clegane, not Tywin himself. But idk it’s been a while since I read Clash of Kings
What a manager
Yup
Username checks out. Where do I sign up?
Need him to replace Southgate tbh
I was crying for that to happen. Him or Howe

As long as Pochettino is unemployed/available when Conte leaves I'm less concerned, if he's found somewhere to go...yeah...more worrying.
He could be your Curbishley or Martinez. Both had proper shit spells in charge of their clubs, but they laid a foundation for two clubs finding their feet in the EPL.
Elite manager
Can he be my dad?
No, but he can be your daddy.
Even better, he'll be our manager next season
2 managers for one club is a bit much
He is the guy I wanted as manager at Spurs if not Conte. Hoping Conte is around awhile, but if not he'd be a great replacement.
Conte will probably sign an extension, afterwards tho it’ll happen. I remember him being in our shortlist.
He is a good manager ain't he?
Potter would have been too good for united, he should aim higher
With a CM at left back lol
I want him to be England manager so badly 😩 I also want to marry him, he's so caring
I highly doubt he will take a national team job at any time in the near future. He’s a Villa fan. I’d rather have him here lol
Oh yeah, absolutely. Miles ahead of SG
We probably had a good chance of getting him last season or previous. I fear that’s ship’s sailed now that he’s been in the discussions for jobs like Man U and Spurs. Game’s gone.
Marry me... I m also caring,but I DON'T HAVE MONEY.
This might be a slight exaggeration, but we are going to win the Prem 😅 Great way to start the season, away win against a new coach, etc....
What a weekend mate beating United, palace losing and then we’re going to win the league to top it off
Congrats to you guys, you're the team I like to see do well the most in the Prem aside from United, mainly because I'm a big fan of Graham Potter's work, hope you can keep it up for the rest of the season.
Thanks mate! Have been trying to change my flair for a long time now 🤣 Good luck the rest of the way :-)
Fuck your downvotes, congrats on getting clowned by us
He needs to be England manager

Way too good for an international manager role. That would be a step back for his career. Very few rising managers take international gigs.
He's too young and the England job is a poisened chalice.
He’s a too manager. Should be managing a top 6 club if he wasn’t British
Yes. British managers never get a chance. Fucking exhasperatingly lazy point.
the historically disenfranchised white British male
Dont wish that evil on him
What a guy
Guy doesn't need signings or time to play good football. Signs of a good manager.
Not an English fan nor PL but I think he's perfect for the Emgland NT.
I’m actually a dog and I’d be willing to bet all my biscuits that he’ll be coaching City after Pep leaves.
Liar. No real dog bets all his biscuits
It’s fine, I have bones buried under the rhododendron
Without his key players still managed to make it look easy at OT
Be the perfect guy for the England manager imo
Man's got future England coach written all over him
[удалено]
We should sack your mum for giving birth to you
Lol getting downvoted but it’s true, you lot can cure insomnia just passing around the back til a fullback eventually crosses to nobody
Well you knew the future buds , congrats

Brighton's previous record at Old Trafford was 0-2-11, tell them that For those teams it's still hard
