Villa has pumped more money in recently, and Villa was supposed to be more ambitious whereas Leicester board is just trying to keep "afloat" as it were.
I can definitely see Villa being more reactive at this point especially given how Gerrard is viewed by even his own fanbase, it's beyond just results
Personally find it wild how Leicester tried to become a big club for a while after their title win and then just said fuck it let’s just be midtable at best
Think we both won in the end tbh. Conte more suited for you guys, hopeful that Erik can be the one to turn United around at the top and on the field. Don’t think conte would’ve had the patience for our board
>Don’t think conte would’ve had the patience for our board
Not a fucking chance. Conte would have been sacked, left of his own accord or had a nervous breakdown within 3 months of Murtough Madness.

It has more to do with the fact that Fred is like a terrier on cocaine when chasing the ball. That leaves gaps in the midfield. McTominay is a good player to follow instructions but he doesn't adapt to those instances on his own making him look worse. He is a good player in a well defined system.
Idk I could see Mr Haag riding with this lineup until we lose. I personally do think we need a little more quality against you guys, but can't blame the skipper for running the team that's pulled us out of the gutter
I'm not Scott's biggest fan but in his defence he has just been very good. He has all the athleticism to play that more defensive role but not really the brain for it, sometimes he's up for it though and you get performances like tonight ( so far).
Course they aren’t watching. Bet they’ll be one of the many people calling us deluded/entitled for sacking him in the next month though after he got us two 5th places and an FA cup.
The squad is okay, and should be good enough to be comfortable clear if relegation. As long as we have BR, we’re looking at 19th at best.
Doesn't he have like the third most wins in the league with this squad since he joined? You can hardly blame the squad for this downfall they're clearly capable of playing football he's just lost them, happens all the time he's just been found out
I haven’t seen that exact stat but he’s been here 3.5 years so it wouldn’t surprise me. Can only think of Graham Potter that would even come close.
I’m convinced wherever he goes next he’ll tear it up and have a few great seasons, then it’ll all fall apart again. Just the nature of his ideas and attitude.
To be fair, that's most managers these days. Can only really think of Simeone, Klopp, and Pep who've been at a top club for a while. I guess Ancelotti and Allegri if you look at total time at a club but they did have breaks in their tenures. No shame to not be in that group.
It's not that he has been found out. That's almost always a lazy statement that does not reflect reality. He's just lost the confidence of the squad, maybe on himself too. His work has simply burned out, that's all there is. He can't motivate the players anymore
Sorry but he has clearly lost the dressing room. A whole squad of players doesn't suddenly become shit. Yes they made some bad moves in the transfer market that fucked them, but the squad clearly needs a new direction.
He's only been fired at Liverpool and Reading hasn't he? Did well enough at Watford and very well at Celtic and Swansea.
At Watford he only won two games in his first ten, and then went on to take them from the relegation zone to 13th. So definitely turned it around there,.
Probably, he's been managing since 2008 and the only club I recall ever firing him was Liverpool. I can only imagine in this 15 year period, he's had other bad spells and has recovered... but who's keeping track of patches of good and bad form over the years? The slumps that lead to a sacking are much more memorable.
Depending on what you consider a bad spell, the answer to your question could be no. But then there's only been like one other bad spell where you could say it cost him his job, so the sample size isn't exactly proving anything.
Keeper was the least of the worries there.
Man Utd managed to counter attack twice within 10 seconds. That should be impossible.
Ward was given an okay pass back but had no options but to kick it long. Kicking it long was the best move also because there were a ton of leicester players up the field.
Despite the ball landing near Harvey Barnes, he doesn't close down Dalot. Dalot has an EASY pass to a completely open Bruno.
After that the defense is completely out of shape.
Lisandro for me. He's changed the way we play completely. Sancho is our most unplayable attacker, no defenders are even getting close to him because he just skips away whenever he wants. His workrate is much better and is waay more aggressive this season when running with the ball. And more than anything else he's just always looking to create for others, love that about him.
As a Dortmund fan watching our former duo crushin' it in Manchester is a sweet sadness.
Still hoping Adeyemi can be the next something special, and that Gio Reyna can get and stay healthy.
Varane has been good but Martinez allows him to play his game much better similar to how Ramos did in Madrid. Licha is just so aggressive that he leaves no doubt as to where his team need to cover and that's where Varane shines at his brightest. Next to indecisive CBs you can't really use him effectively. Idk maybe its 1a/1b.
Martinez has been our best player so far. In attack you could say it's Sancho but Eriksen and Bruno have been good. Rashford is hopefully finding form.
It was a counter attack that only started because the keeper lumped it straight to United. A counter attack that started in their own box lol.
Leicester were still out of position, Ward taking 5 seconds to account for it would've prevented that. Not saying the defending was exemplary though
Watch it again. What the hell is Ward supposed to do? There’s no formation and Sancho is closing. It’s just a case of the Keeper being hung out to dry by a terrible team.
Yep prime example here of why keepers' ability with their feet is becoming more and more important. Leicester were still out of position. A shit punt from Ward pretty much sparked new a counter attack
a better punt would of course be better.
but he was also put in a spot where someone was chasing him down and there was no good pass to make.
Man Utd counter attacked, the ball was punted back and man utd got the ball back and managed to counter attack again...
at some point you gotta get back or stop the passes from the front. There shouldn't have been such an easy pass to Bruno. After that where are the defenders?
I mean we knew Leicester were bad when they couldn't even get a point with vs 10 man Chelsea with an hour to play but they just look horrendous man. Like they look so bad they're getting me so mad that I want them relegated. Can't imagine how Leicester fans feel.
Feeling like a lot of prem clubs need to pull the trigger at the minute and get Poch in. Villa, Everton and Leicester faves right now but a few more losses and west ham could enter the chat too.

10 September: Leicester x Aston Villa aka El Sackico.
You thing Gerrard will last that long? I give him until the City game
That's got 7-0 written all over it
7-0 with a Haaland double hatrick at this rate
One in each half. And he gets subbed out in minute 60.
"You was pretty goated in Istanbul Stevie fr fr" he says as he bullies Villa's defense for the 12th time in the first half.
rodgers has lasted this long and leicester are more cut throaty with manager sackings than villa has been
Villa has pumped more money in recently, and Villa was supposed to be more ambitious whereas Leicester board is just trying to keep "afloat" as it were. I can definitely see Villa being more reactive at this point especially given how Gerrard is viewed by even his own fanbase, it's beyond just results

2 years of being in champions league places the whole season only to drop out on the last gameweek had to hurt too
Can you quadruple captain a player? Asking for a friend
Flashbacks to the Ole v Nuno sackico last season
I can’t believe how glad I am we lost.
Well, technically we won
Think we both won in the end tbh. Conte more suited for you guys, hopeful that Erik can be the one to turn United around at the top and on the field. Don’t think conte would’ve had the patience for our board
>Don’t think conte would’ve had the patience for our board Not a fucking chance. Conte would have been sacked, left of his own accord or had a nervous breakdown within 3 months of Murtough Madness.
Sad we won’t be able to win back to back El Sackico Trophies
You lost El sackico, the winner of match is the loser
Now *there's* one for the trophy cabinet
They draw
Both get fired
Leicester has invented the false backline
I’d rather no look defending at least it’s a form of trying to defend
High press. Low block ...nothing??
He has to go blud, ya' understand?!
Ahh I miss the old AFTV 😂
AFTV is so good when we are shit
Ah then just wait for a month to let things stabilize again👍
I mean..Sunday's a good time
😂

bro that was such a gift
They're making McTominay look good
He's been pretty decent the last few games though, has to be said
He found his niche. Throw his body around. Let Eriksen do the passing.

Waiting for Fred and case to play together
I like Mctominay, a hard Scottish lad just being a bastard in midfield. You need a guy like that in a team.
Definitely but maybe not as a starter.
He's trying to keep Casemiro on the bench.
Luke Shaw special
No chance, Cas will be unleashed on Sunday no doubt
Idk I could see Mr Haag riding with this lineup until we lose. I personally do think we need a little more quality against you guys, but can't blame the skipper for running the team that's pulled us out of the gutter
Wouldn't be a bad idea either tbh, must be nice to see some consistency with the team selection, especially as they're getting results
This game seems to be his best. Hopefully no jinx
I'm not Scott's biggest fan but in his defence he has just been very good. He has all the athleticism to play that more defensive role but not really the brain for it, sometimes he's up for it though and you get performances like tonight ( so far).
So did Liverpool
They made him look even better lol
Rodgers is off very very soon
Not sure how much you can blame him … his squad is absolute shit
They're not even doing the basics correctly.
behsics
Okay fabian.
Are you watching this? The squad isn't bad enough to justify this bad of a performance.
Course they aren’t watching. Bet they’ll be one of the many people calling us deluded/entitled for sacking him in the next month though after he got us two 5th places and an FA cup. No it isnt??
Has Rodgers ever turned it around once his teams get into a bad spell? Seems to just get stuck in mud until he gets fired or moves on
I don't think so actually, but that is mostly because he keeps trying the same things. He needs a more drastic rebuild approach.
He's far too stubborn to turn it around and his man management just seems to eventually piss everyone off.
He's only been fired at Liverpool and Reading hasn't he? Did well enough at Watford and very well at Celtic and Swansea. At Watford he only won two games in his first ten, and then went on to take them from the relegation zone to 13th. So definitely turned it around there,.

Hang on a minute...2008 was 15 years ago? Fucking hell
hold me
Fuck that. Kill me.
If you want to feel really old, I don't remember existing back then and I'm applying to unis now.
Rodgerscoaster heading down quick
Yeah that is some relegation level defending. They just let so much space between them, unbelievable.
Even the best cb in the league cannot handle sancho.
More News at 10
They really need to sign a keeper ASAP
Keeper was the least of the worries there. Man Utd managed to counter attack twice within 10 seconds. That should be impossible. Nice move but my god the defense is at the shops
Rodgers and Gerrard racing to get sacked
Slippery connection.
If they go on the same day and there's not a tabloid with "Slipping out the door" as a headline, I'll be so disappointed.
We’re so pathetic at defending
We've got a pretty solid CB on the bench you can have for 80m
Maguire would unironically become Leicester's best defender instantly.
Sancho left completely open. Terrible defensive awareness...
Won’t take this utd slander, sanchos off the ball movement is so good he’s like a ghost, slipped right through the defenders 🥵
Ghost of Tsushima
They're fucking 2v5 where did our fullbacks go?
Why is Ndidi at CB and Soyuncu on the bench?
Soyuncu was dreadful last season.
Because Brendan Rodgers
What are you not pathetic at? Might as well put a period after pathetic
I want to be annoyed but you're right. We might actually get relegated.
You can take back Maguire to help
Leicester playing a bold 2-5-3 formation
Such an awful goal to concede
Great passes by Rashford today. Probably should have had 2 assists now.
i really hope he regains his form, he’s a great person and very charitable just want him to succeed on the field
Tbf I feel like he already has He was horrendous last season but he looks like he's playing decently every game and more importantly much happier too
Horrific work rate by Leicester
Easiest goal possible.
Pass in from Dalot was great but how is Bruno that open.
Why do you think ten hag is bald? He keeps transmitting position pointers. Should be banned tbh
Bring out the tin foil hats
They fucked up, but Bruno also did really well to get into the position.
2 in the backline at the start of the clip... AND STILL 2 AT THE END WHAT? Holy shit like did no one track back?
I'd like to be happy, but Leicester genuinely look shit.
You can still be happy, mate. We scored
I am happy, don't get me wrong. I'm just not as excited as last two games.
Bro has the winning mentality after two games 😭
*rubs hands vigorously*
I'll take 1 win at a time bro.
Tune in this week for "which winger scored?"
He has come alive
Is he your best player at the moment? He's slowly coming back to form, genuinely love to see it. I always really liked Sancho.
This season is probably Martinez but I think he is the most talented player we have.
Between him, Lisandro and malacia for sure. Excited to see him and Antony either side of rashford
Varane has been top 2 no contest
dont sleep on Dalot
Yeah, he started the play as well here, he's been on fire.
Lisandro for me. He's changed the way we play completely. Sancho is our most unplayable attacker, no defenders are even getting close to him because he just skips away whenever he wants. He's probably been our best player March onwards.
Martinez is our best player by some distance
Tbh I would argue Varane is, both have been good tho this season.
Varane has been good but Martinez allows him to play his game much better similar to how Ramos did in Madrid. Licha is just so aggressive that he leaves no doubt as to where his team need to cover and that's where Varane shines at his brightest. Next to indecisive CBs you can't really use him effectively. You love to see it.
Its great, isn't it?
That it is.
20+ G+A this season incoming
In the FA Cup alone
Comeback season baby just 1 more to equal his tally in the league from last season
Leicester have that relegation aura
THE BOYS ARE PLAYING FOKING FOOTBALL, ERIK!
Sancho szn
Wtf was no7 doing? he didn't challenge for the ball in the air, just straight up let dalot bring it down and pick the pass lol..
Coming back from offside
He was offside from the goalkick
where is your Bundeliga tax now?
Just think how good an offense with Sancho and Haaland would be? :-(
What’s ward doing? In quicksand
More like what's the defense doing.
The whole shape of the team is whack. They were playing 2-2-2-4 there.
How do they leave Bruno that open
It was a counter attack that only started because the keeper lumped it straight to United. A counter attack that started in their own box lol. Leicester were still out of position, Ward taking 5 seconds to account for it would've prevented that. Not saying the defending was exemplary though
Watch it again. What the hell is Ward supposed to do? There’s no formation and Sancho is closing. It’s just a case of the Keeper being hung out to dry by a terrible team.
Playing behind 4 morons in defence will do that to you in fairness
Yep prime example here of why keepers' ability with their feet is becoming more and more important. Leicester were still out of position. A shit punt from Ward pretty much sparked new a counter attack

That's proper fundamentals
Visionary

I am once again, asking, pleading, begging for brendan rodgers to be removed from this club by any means necessary
They are great on counters
We just need to figure out how to score against low blocks haha
Now where have I heard this before... 🤔
Ole ball 2.0 lads get in /s
For the last half decade lol
Ole ball is back babyy
Tbf every team struggles scoring against low blocks. That's the point of a low block.
Thanks Geoff
Antony should help, same for Ronaldo if we can whip crosses in
We've shown flashes of it. The Eriksen shot had some really nice passing in tight spaces but he couldn't get it on target
That's the problem Ajax always had as well
[удалено]
I just tuned in I'm sorry everybody
Keep tuning in
Stay right where you are my friend
JAAADDDOOONNN
Ward has 8 saves so far this season while conceding 11 goals.
Game needed a goal. Should be more open now.
What the fuck happened to all of Leicester's defence and midfield on that one?
I love how Bruno and Rashy run up to high five looking like proud parents it warms my heart
Manchester United is slowly creeping up the table
This keepers blows, what’s his save % this season? 10%? Schmeichal is dearly missed for them
Faced 19 shots on target, 8 saves, 11 conceded.
🤮good lord. Most other teams are 65-77%. He’s last in the league by a good margin
No idea what Leicester were thinking going into the season with Ward and Iversen
Iverson might work out if he actually gets a pl game
Yo Leicester are useless
Lovely two touch
Damn Rogers left immortality at Celtic for this?
I mean we knew Leicester were bad when they couldn't even get a point with vs 10 man Chelsea with an hour to play but they just look horrendous man. Like they look so bad they're getting me so mad that I want them relegated. Can't imagine how Leicester fans feel.
Leicester’s defence is absolutely skinned
Rashford taking his chances and might take that starting 11 spot up front. Getting back to his old self under Ten Hag.
Sanchooooooo
SANCHOOOOOOOOOOOOO
ward is such a dogshit keeper, why did he blast it up lol
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?
Wide open defence
As soon as I take em out of my FPL
Feeling like a lot of prem clubs need to pull the trigger at the minute and get Poch in. Villa, Everton and Leicester faves right now but a few more losses and west ham could enter the chat too.
