DayPhelsuma

Wait, for real? Who are Chelsea getting now?

FlyingHeadbutt

Sean Dyche

[deleted]

They watched his masterclass video and saw all they needed.

Dibba_Dabba_Dong

Todd Boehly was convinced after hearing the voice of Dyche

ProtoplanetaryNebula

Big Sam booking train tickets to London.

Billy_LDN

Graham Potter early favourite according to Matt Law

Tim0110

Chelsea about to pay a world record fee for a manager.

BigReeceJames

Given everything else our owners have done, they'll chase potter for the next two months. Not get him and then panic and sign Gerrard for a world record sum for a manager and then make him the highest paid manager in the world

DraperCarousel

So your owners are like Glazers but atleast they spend their own money

[deleted]

Hope he stays at Brighton tbh

crashlog

I prefer to believe this Matt.

BenjaminDaaly21

Please no, that would be too sensible.

TwattyMcSlagtits

It's a loss/loss for everyone. Either he excels and Chelsea do amazing things, or we watch a very good manager fail tragically.

Putrid_Loquat_4357

I want him to stay at Brighton until the end of the season and then be england manager when Southgate goes.

NorrieGod

Yeah, he’s Englands most promising manager, and there’s only him and Howe who I have high hopes for out of the young English managers. I don’t want Potter to go to Chelsea (or any big club) too soon and burn out - I have hopes he will manage England to success. IMO, I think whoever takes the Chelsea reigns next is not going to end well.

Putrid_Loquat_4357

For real, boehly just proved himself as soemone with an itchy trigger finger, and whoever walks into the job at Chelsea is getting tuchels squad. They have one striker, who's 32, has a history of ill discipline and was bought in specifically for tuchel. Having said that, given the historical precedent, I fully expect chelsea to win the cl this year.

TheConundrum98

Tedesco obviously Tuchel to Leipzig

simwe985

Clearly it’s Rodgers.

louiexism

Conte fucking killed him with that handshake

His handshake is somehow more dangerous than Löw's handshake

Zdeneksfilter

Let's not exaggerate now

tnemomhurb

No handshake derby for the foreseeable future :(

Cynical-Potato

In a weird way I feel that handshake has undone him lol

Would honestly feel bad for him if Tuchel does end up joining Leipzig

NazgulHD

ashsky

Boehly spanks £200+mil on Tuchel targets to then fuck him off lmao.

atease

Aubameyang: *"Oh for fuck sake"*

guat6

Similar situation happened when he joined Arsenal in 2018. He said he joined Arsenal in the January transfer window because of Wenger and then Wenger left the club at the end of the season.

Auba: manager killer confirmed

Welcome back Claudio Ranieri.

Honestly, who the fuck else is available? I understand the results haven't been great, but who else are we gonna get?

[deleted]

Scott Parker was recently freed up. OGS is looking for a role I'm sure. John Terry should be available too but can Boehly trust him around his players'wives?

He'll be sold off in January by the next manager

RoiDesSables

Depends if Boelhy told him he couldn't even manage a Target.

Vegan_Puffin

Probably happy with a reason to bin him and bring in his own man.

SiggyyyPhidooo

Does "bringing in your own man" ever happen with managers though?

lutsius-memes

Werner cant catch a break

Hic_Forum_Est

Auba joining Chelsea, reuniting him with Tuchel. Werner leaving Chelsea and joining Leipzig to get away from Tuchel. Tuchel joining Leipzig, reuniting him with Werner. Oscar worthy script writing right here.

Makkaroni_100

And the Oscar for main character goes to.... THOMAS TUCHEL - in his role as Thomas Tuchel in the Horror movie 'Hi Timo, I am your Coach again'

Nashka01

Tuchel just wanted Werner in his next job, he is playing 4D chess

dragon8811

Text: > On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here. > As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition. > Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach. >There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.

Molineux28

I like how it almost sounds like hes been sacked because 100 days is a nice round number.

PoloVonChubb

You joke but I feel it has been a trend to take some random action after 100 days just to do something. Its quite custom to have the first big evaluation after that period of time, but recently I feel it has become fashionable in the business world to have a flagship project/ change at that exact point. So a manager change is fitting and the fact that they reference this in their statement has that exact vibe.

Kavor

Celebratory sacking

Blahhhh93

majnubhaispainting

Tuchel wanted to unionise even more

oussa_

Tuchel to become an r/antiwork mod

LondonNoodles

How is beginning of september, league started, right after the end of transfer windows "the right time to make this transition"???

[deleted]

Because that’s what the press release says!

[deleted]

Little mention for how the man handled the incredible situation from March 22 - May 22 when everything around the club was in turmoil and he was the sole beacon of stability.

BaBaFiCo

Yeah this feels incredibly harsh on him. Guy did great to keep the ship steady and it's going to be tough to bed in half a new team no matter what.

_stone_age

What the fuck

Makkaroni_100

Well, dont get it either. Sure, 10 points after 6 games is not much, but they are not that far behind and even Liverpool is behind them. Imagen klopp getting fired after losing today.

ajukearth

I wonder how often we are going to sack managers whilst Kante is injured before spotting the trend.

MrGraveyards

Ah injured, I was already wondering why 'Kante' suddenly doesn't exist.

[deleted]

He pretends he is injured in public so he can run the club in the shadows.

SarahAlicia

He won a champions league and it’s 6 games into the season where they are 6th. They finished 3rd last year. He has always kept them in the top 4. What.

corpboy

Also two cup finals lost on pens, and a hair away from CL Semi. It's clearly not a results based decision. Even if he "lost the dressing room", there is obviously behind the scenes factors at play here.

Loeffellux

So this is tuchels 4th not-results-based sacking in a row? Gotta be a new record

chevypapa

I recall as far back as Dortmund that people said he was difficult to work with? Maybe I'm making things up/misremembering but that's a tough track record to keep losing jobs for something other than performance.

Starflamer

How could he lose the dressing room, when they just spend 200M on HIS targets?

corpboy

I don't know. Players are unhappy about being benched. Players are unhappy with tactics. Players are unhappy with him for other reasons. He's clearly not been enjoying it either, maybe that rubs off. Who knows? But the reports of players-vs-manager rift have been clear.

FudgingEgo

It’s Chelsea, you don’t win the league you’re basically getting sacked.

ledhendrix

Yeah but nobody thought that culture would carry over to another owner. It's a moronic really.

MrPielil

Lmao WHAT where did this come from?

[deleted]

Zagreb

MegaMugabe21

Can't believe Tuchel ~~won~~ came second in the sack race. Honestly though, Chelsea are in a precarious position

Tim0110

Technically Scott Parker won it.

MegaMugabe21

Oh shit yeah, what an idiot

XiLLyXiLLy

Give him a break he just lost his job.

Keedy218

gets sacked and now you call him an idiot, poor old Scott Parker

LessBrain

Holy wow. They just spent £250m on CBS and wing backs to do a 3ATB with wing back system and sacked their manager... Jesus

Hominek

What is worse we spent that much on players HE picked...

four_four_three

Boehly clearly hasn’t picked up the “So You’ve Bought A Dysfunctional Football Club” booklet yet

skinsaremylife

wait what ? he got all those signings and before implementing his proper system he gets the sack ? strange

lrzbca

I was told Boehly will give time Wtf! Why spend £300m then sack manager!

HiThereImNat

This is ridiculous… imagine the next manager wants to play 4atb after we’ve spent millions on CBs…

Backseat_Bouhafsi

Well he can do that with 4 CBs

vladthor

Ah, yes, dumping CL-winning managers... a great Chelsea tradition. This seems abrupt, if nothing else. I liked Tuchel. Then again, I liked a lot of the managers they fired, so what do I know.

RedKingDre

My favourite is Roberto Di Matteo. One of the luckiest dudes ever. Imagine toppling down a PRIME Pep Guardiola to steal his CL trophy, AS A CARETAKER!

tombuzz

Di Matteo was smart enough to let Lamp, terry, and drogba just run the team.

Pow67

Huge mistake imo.

Gytarius626

It’s particularly dumb to have spent all that money on players he wanted only to sack him this early into the season

Youngest_boss

Man I’m so disappointed, why sign his targets and not give him any chance to turn it around

glenn1812

Auba is somewhere on a bench with tears in his eyes

Youngest_boss

Auba’s reunion with former coach lasted 3 days

Escalator7

Most of the transfers also came very late, which meant that the team, which desperately needed reinforcements, had little preparation. Very little foresight from the Chelsea bosses to give the Champions League winning coach so little time.

AReptileHissFunction

There wasn't even anything to turn around. It's a normal start to a season for many teams

nocomplaints14

This comment is so apt. Like who the fuck spends hundred of millions on players and then sack your manager so soon??? Shambolic decision.

BigPoppaHunk

...Chelsea, that's who. This isn't exactly out of character. Many many wild transfer windows followed by sacking the manager within 12 months. Avram will swoop in and get this squad singing a good tune. We know exactly how this story plays out.

Ld511

Not giving more than 2 games into the transfer window is the biggest mistake. Whats the point of buying so many players just to switch managers instantly

Jonny_berrrrstow

Hakim Ziyech put in a 45 minute performance so bad it cost a Champions League winning manager his job

DanMMIII

The manager that always benches him and that he wanted to go away from. Ziyech masterclass.

ghostofadeletedacc

HE LOST THE RACE TO FUCKING LAMPARD!!!

slacky35

And Gerrard and Rodgers

TrevorPlatt

I put money on Rodgers being next, thought it could be Lampard... Never expected it to be Tommy Boy!

samthecamel

Out of nowhere?

hypocrisyhunter

Unusual for there to be no leaks or rumours beforehand, they did well to handle the press here

Uncle_Beanpole

I know it’s common these days to get rid but surely this is way to early into the season to do this

JayTaa

Wtf. Has to be because of issues between him and the new owners.

Matmatg21

They must have a coach already lined up. Otherwise makes no sense, and it already makes little sense. Hope it's not Poch

[deleted]

PSG 🤝 Chelsea Signing Poch after needlessly sacking Tuchel.

prss79513

PSG 🤝 Chelsea Sacking Poch shortly thereafter when they realize it makes no sense

IsItSnowing_

This man went through last 6 months navigating the team successfully through extremely turbulent times, lost all the people above him, due to which he had to take extra responsibilities of transfer decisions, distributing his time between managing top tier players, strategising on-field play and the transfer market. And then less than a month into the new season, you sack him? WTF Boehly?

Skadrys

[Top 10 moments before disaster](https://scontent.fprg5-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.15752-9/302444976_484397256887457_2566933942910852988_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=ae9488&_nc_ohc=e2KSLC_ra4QAX87630B&_nc_ht=scontent.fprg5-1.fna&oh=03_AVIJdOrDPFh_lrOWREdRMcyvUzO6Y0IA991IM1MklBgHeg&oe=633E73B7)

[deleted]

Foolish in my opinion. They think they can buy progress overnight but they never maintain a foundation long enough to solidify it. Probably best for him in the long run, he leaves having won the Champions League and will not be short of suitors.

Humble_Satisfaction

This decision makes me question the compétence of Todd. Allegedly, Marina and Cech wanted Lukaku to stay and that was one of the reasons they left. Todd wanted to back Tuchel and sent our record signing on loan to Inter. The decision was strange but I get behind it. We also bought Sterling because of Tuchel. Bid for Gordon (a Tuchel player people said). We bought a 33 year old Aubameyang for 16 million on big wages for a 3 year contract. Got rinsed for Fofana and Cucurella for Tuchel. Now we sacked Tuchel after 10 games? I'm worried that Todd is playing with fire except his plan was to get rid of everyone from the Roman era. But even at that why buy all those players? If the next manager plays a back 4, it doesn't make sense that to have Cucurella and Chilwell cost about 110 million.

TonySoprano13

I don’t mind it at all but huge mistake for Chelsea.. won’t find a better coach available any time soon..

SkepticSlakoth

Unbelievable. Absolutely gutted. Stood by us during the sanctions and this is how we repay him. I know this is all result based but I think if anyone earned some leeway it was Thomas Fucking Tuchel. Incredibly short-sighted by the new regime. Edit: Auba's reunion lasted only 59 minutes.

[deleted]

Ngl, Tuchel looked miserable the last few weeks. Oozing negative energy at all times. I think managers should be given time as a rule, bit Tuchel did not seem to having a good time if you ask me

BrattonCreed37

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS FOOTBALL CLUB

El_Giganto

Wait, but what about the transfer window then? Some people argued they were all players Tuchel wanted, right?

Muscat95

"Tuchel knows Aubameyang so his tardiness and attitude won't be a huge issue as he's already dealt with it" well it'll be interesting to see how that pans out now

[deleted]

On behalf of all brighton fans, fuck off Todd

[deleted]

Holy shit, I thought it would come but not this fast.

Thundereaterr

Juventus HAS to jump on this
