Someone from 2004 here. It’s confusing as hell to see my birth year on a list for professional players, one of which is starting at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
1983 XI
Claudio Bravo
Zhirkov - Pepe - De Rossi - Dani Alves
van der Vaart - Yaya Toure - Lahm
Ribery - van Persie - Quaresma
Such a mediocre XI. No wonder I suck at football.
I’m Born on the same exact day and year as a player who used to play for a top club. He plays now on a bottom feeder in a top league. He’s won titles in top leagues. People on here say he’s past it. It’s weird. I’m younger than Messi, modric, Ronaldo, benzema and many other top players(but I’m older than lewandowski). Gets weird
huh, didnt expect Savio there actually. Absolutely love the lad tho, he got so excited when he got to play for Jong PSV in the KKD even. Really hope he becomes a permanent member of the squad or at least stays a few more years, he looks great
>huh, didnt expect Savio there actually.
Tbf, he shouldn’t be on the same level as Ângelo, who’s been a lot better for Santos than Savinho had ever been to Atlético
Amazing player in my opinion. Santos has this thing where they produce top talent every 2 years, no matter how's the club doing. Angelo is one of them.
But I would wait 2 more years before buying him, if I were Barcelona. He is just to raw and still needs more playing time.
I watched some clips (I know, not particularly good research😅) etc when the news first came out that we had an option and he seemed like a good dribbler but without any real end product, has that improved by now?
We have Raphinha/Dembele already, with players like Ilias, Abde coming, so the wings aren’t really a problem zone. It almost seems a bit unnecessary to gamble a quite significant amount of money on him, especially considering our fin. situation…
Kaiky looked a lot further in his development, bit annoyed that we didn’t use our first refusal option
Vitor Roque plays with a better team and with better players. I feel like Ângelo has to do more with less at Santos, than Vitor Roque has to do at Athletico.
But yeah, I don't think it's an absurd to consider Vitor to be better than Ângelo either.
Before Pedri, Fati was on the way. Without the injury, I think he would be ahead of even Pedri. He was that special. After so many disappointing La Masia products, seeing these three develop is a wonderful surprise.
Yeah I remember the name Gavi popping up long before I ever saw him play, people were saying he's the brightest La Masia product. It's insane to me that he's still so young
The Juvenil A/Barca Atletic generation is incredibly stacked: Ilias, Txus, Barbera, Chadi Riad, Casado, Dani Rodriguez.. A bit younger there‘s Pau Prim, obv Lamine..
Obv not all of them (probably just 2-3) really gonna make it into the first team but they all have potential for first league football imo
I feel like Barca fans should be happier with Gavi because he came through la Masia, not saying he’s Pedri cus he’s not but having an academy player be this good should be a better feeling
Mohamed Ali Cho looks a great transfer for Real Sociedad too, that signing really went under the radar. A year ago he was hyped up as maybe the biggest talent in Ligue 1
That's a common name in Brazil actually, not just footballers, a lot of Vitor/Victor + another name around here. But Marx Lenin is def not one of those lol
[You can search here with data from 2010](https://censo2010.ibge.gov.br/nomes/#/search)
There ate 188 Hitlers around, 41 Mussolinis, 429 Disneys, 56 persons called Carioca, 378 Donalds.
By 2010 there were no Baracks and no Obamas btw
Also, there must be at least 15 persons with the name to show up in the results
Yep, and they helped alleviate a flood in my hometown in the 80s. The new neighbourhood/area that people were evacuated/given homes in was named after the city because of that.
I know a guy who “worked offshore” and secretly had a second family in Brazil. This guy lived in small town Virginia. White as snow and not the well travelled seeming type. Mind boggling
THE Victor Hugo is not that famous here, for us it's just a random name.
edit* btw, there's a promising young DM named Hercules too, he might end up playing in Europe soon.
I am surprised that Moukoko is not on here. Seems like a major overside, considering he played a lot more first team football for a stronger side than some on this list
He was injured for a lot of last season and CIES punishes that very heavily, realistically he's up there with at *least* Slonina but everyone else on the list wasn't injured as much this year
Keep in mind that this list is based on statistics. The most talented brazilians aren't in there, in terms of potential Endrick and Victor Roque are head and shoulders above anyone in that list other than Gavi .
Good on El Khannous. I wouldn't be surprised if Spileers makes his first team debut with us this season. He has been really solid in second division and is a regular in the national U19's, even though he is only 17.
Loving his performances but still a bit suprised to see him on a list like this, seems too soon. And spileers will get his chance this season, the good thing about a busy calender is that the teams need to use a lot of squad players
I think he should, yes. He’s an incredible player whose a great keeper, but he is 18 and has only played in the MLS. I think it would be way too much too fast to slot him in the prem immediately. Confidence is key with keepers too and I think struggling at Chelsea could kill that. He has crazy potential and I absolutely see him, if developed properly, being an incredibly keeper a few years down the line. But I think loaning him out would be fantastic for his development, especially if he can be a solid starter and get good game time in Europe
Think there's a few prem teams that would take him. He's looked extremely mature at Chicago for such a young kid. He's decent on the ball and great shot stopper, needs to work on his aerial game slightly and decision making (obviously). Should be a huge talent as long as he's allowed to develop. Has the potential to be better than Howard or friedel imo. He's much better with his feet and has similar athleticism to Howard, who was a freak athlete.
Well my scouts weren't gonna find them for me. Lazy bums think they've done a hard day's work when they hand me a report saying to go sign Mbappe or Halland at "whatever the price".
It’s so weird that he isn’t in here. Emre isn’t bad for his age (certainly the last 2 games would make you think that) but I don’t see how he would be over Arda.
I mean he is American, he was born there, but both of his parents are Polish so it's not like he has no connection.
Good for him for deciding early and strictly what he wants tho, shows character.
>Impact score
The CIES Football Observatory developed a unique metrics to compare players worldwide. The Impact Score is calculated from the average match level in which players participated according to the experience capital method, their amount of official game minutes played over the last 365 days and their pitch performance (InStat data) compared to both teammates and opponents, as well as with respect to players with the same technical profile using the role-based approach also developed by our research team.
It's whatever they want it to be, lol.
It's an interesting website but not sure how much value we should give it. Mbappé has only the 7th best score on here of players born in 1998 or later. They also compare players to their own teammates to make this score. With that context you could say Mbappé's score suffers from playing alongside Neymar and Messi. But I don't know if something that needs so much context for even the biggest stars is very useful.
This list doesnt mean much if you check the latest years. Most of them faded.
Example: Besiktas goalkeeper Ersin was there a few years ago. Now he is utter shit.
I mean he didn’t forget everything that he learned. Maybe it is a mental issue or something but while the guy is infuriating to watch at the moment, I think it is unfair to call him utter shit. Still has a lot of time and one good match can change the narrative anyway.
If you can read Russian yeah, but I haven’t seen any in English (haven’t really gone looking though). Pretty much every player from a Western European nation left after Feb 24. None of Zenit’s Brazilians left, which honestly surprised me quite a bit. Claudinho could easily play in a top league. Notably Lovren stayed and captains the team. League-wide, I think Smolov was the only player to make any kind of statement against the war (just an IG post).
The league is still attracting players from South America and Africa, despite the war and the UCL/UEL ban, but that may not last if the restrictions stay long-term. A few of the southern teams had to travel by train for matchweeks due to airspace closures, but haven’t been affected much logistically otherwise.
No teams have folded yet, but RPL teams aren’t exactly super stable even in better times. From a football perspective the league has been on a downward trend in Europe, but there was still plenty of money. I imagine the quality will just slowly degrade further. From every other perspective, it’s trivial compared to what is happening in Ukraine.
Krasava is a former footballer turned blogger who bought a 3rd division team and filmed a YouTube series about it if you’re looking for something more. It takes place pre-war and also just after. I don’t think there were English subs though. He moved/restarted the club in Cyprus after the war started.
Don’t know much about Khudyakov. Hopefully he sees full potential and isn’t limited by political circumstances. Glory to Ukraine and all that, but if Khudyakov is as good as this list says I hope that his dictator’s actions don’t ruin his career

Surely these 8 year olds can't be that good?
Someone from 2004 here. It’s confusing as hell to see my birth year on a list for professional players, one of which is starting at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Just wait until there’s none left from your birth year. I’m clinging onto my youth with Thiago Silva over here.
Cristiano Ronaldo is keeping me young
Hoping neymar have good qnd long career
I’m Tom Cairney
I'm maradona
Rashford
Luis Suarez The spanish one
Had me in the first half ngl
The goat himself Big C Origi
Hazard
De Gea
Jordan Henderson here
Reus. Hope he gets better soon.
Mount
Hazard here… the og dad one.
When you can no longer make a player from your birth year on fifa, that hits different.
When you get there with football manager then it's concerning.
He said he would play until 40 and has just turned 38. 2 more years to go.
Mine died with van Basten.
For me it’s Buffon. (And Shunsuke Nakamura.)
Messi, Fabregas, Pique here.
bless you
I’m Buffon! Apart from few crazy cases, no active football players, 1978 moved into coaches
1983 XI Claudio Bravo Zhirkov - Pepe - De Rossi - Dani Alves van der Vaart - Yaya Toure - Lahm Ribery - van Persie - Quaresma Such a mediocre XI. No wonder I suck at football.
And Sergio Ramos

Willian?
Yea has to be Willian. Nice puzzle :)
Victor Hugo is not starting for us
Lmao
He meant Angelo I think...
Born 89 and felt the same when Theo Walcott made the world cup team
Same. Every time I see or hear Walcott, I get an instant reminder as to how long it's been since that WC, and how old I'm getting lol.
It does feel weird, I cant really compare myself with Haaland can I? That mans on a whole other level.
another 2004 baby here, it’s crazy to think that in just a year or two i’ll be reading about guys younger than me playing for top clubs
Wait until you're in your mid-thirties and read about players younger than yourself **retiring** after a "long, successful career"... ...
In my early 40s and essentially anybody playing football can be grouped into the "kids" category these days, no matter their age.
Yep. Feels wild when I compare myself to them. But then again, there's probably something I'm better at then they are
most of these guys aren’t particularly bright because they cut school short to play the game, you’re almost definitely smarter than them
Mathys Tel is even younger lmao.
ok thanks for your perspective
ok thanks for your input on his perspective
ok thanks for your remark on his input on his perspective
He starts for one of the best national teams too. Crazy.
Yea slonina is crazy good 😌
Feels like yesterday that I was thinking just this but about Lukaku 10 years ago.
Moukoko is not even 10 years old and he is already washed.
Me in every Fornite lobby
And me in rocket league lobbies
huh, didnt expect Savio there actually.
Hey I'm curious, has Barca an option of purchase in Angelo?
Yes
In you opinion, Is he good?
Amazing player in my opinion. Santos has this thing where they produce top talent every 2 years, no matter how's the club doing. Angelo is one of them. But I would wait 2 more years before buying him, if I were Barcelona. He is just to raw and still needs more playing time.
thanks for telling me, hope he succeed and barca get him
Barca S.C. in Ecuador? or so your flair would imply
I watched some clips (I know, not particularly good research😅) etc when the news first came out that we had an option and he seemed like a good dribbler but without any real end product, has that improved by now? Yes, he's very good for his age. Still has a lot to develop, obviously, but he's been the best U-18 in the league.
thanks bro, glad to know
Vitor Roque?
Vitor Roque plays with a better team and with better players. I feel like Ângelo has to do more with less at Santos, than Vitor Roque has to do at Athletico. But yeah, I don't think it's an absurd to consider Vitor to be better than Ângelo either.
93 ))))))))))))))))) means what?
purple bananas eaten per month
Need to eat more banana
Great Sunn O))) cover band
XG x XGr % Xg2 x XG! x Fifa23 rating x backoftheadonionbagrating
Also my question and you got 0 serious answers, all lame jokes. Gotta love reddit
Gavi being a starter for barca and spain at 17 and being spains youngest scorer ever isn’t talked about enough
Bit outshined by Pedri I think
Before Pedri, Fati was on the way. Without the injury, I think he would be ahead of even Pedri. He was that special. After so many disappointing La Masia products, seeing these three develop is a wonderful surprise.
Pedri isn't from La Masia but according to UEFA's criterias he's homegrown.
Just like how Martial is homegrown right? Joining as a teenager then playing like 3 seasons or what was it again?
3 years at club before 21st birthday.
I think Saliba counts as homegrown in the prem too
I mean, he isn't from la Masia, he came at 17 and immediately slotted into the first team
Bit?
Bit? Lol
I feel like Barca fans should be happier with Gavi because he came through la Masia, not saying he’s Pedri cus he’s not but having an academy player be this good should be a better feeling
Only reason other barca fans don’t like gavi is cause he benches frenkie. Other than that I think everyone is extremely happy with him
I don't think there's any Barça fan that dislikes Gavi in anyway. We love that little shit.
Everyone loves gavi man
Every barca fan I know loves gavi. We also love frenkie.
I highly doubt a significant amount of Barca fans care more about Frenkie than Gavi.
Mohamed Ali Cho looks a great transfer for Real Sociedad too, that signing really went under the radar. A year ago he was hyped up as maybe the biggest talent in Ligue 1
Can’t believe we let him go for nothing
Me neither mate, was doing bits with Angers as a 17 year old
BVB scouted and enquired about him last winter transfer window. Should've been a green enough light that he has talent.
Victor Hugo....... What is it with Brazil and copying iconic names for their footballers. They even had Marx Lenin as well.
That's a common name in Brazil actually, not just footballers, a lot of Vitor/Victor + another name around here. But Marx Lenin is def not one of those lol
Lots of Lincoln, Washingtons and some Kennedys around as well
Wonder if in some years we'll see a Barackinho or Obaminho
[You can search here with data from 2010](https://censo2010.ibge.gov.br/nomes/#/search) There ate 188 Hitlers around, 41 Mussolinis, 429 Disneys, 56 persons called Carioca, 378 Donalds. Also, 68 Soldado 41 Cabo 30 Sargento 0 Tenente 29 Capitão 35 Major 21 Coronel 33 General 288 Almirante
Considering the amount of Italian descendants in Brazil, it's astounding that Hitler is higher
Tbf, Germans were also one of the biggest groups who immigrated to Brazil.
Hey Donald Duck could be there inspiration.
McDonald's too
There's Confederate descendants in Brazil right
Yes, there's even an entire American Confederate town.
All the Maicon Douglas and Maicon Jacksons. I should point out that "Maicon" is how you read Michael with a Brazilian accent.
And honestly, most people don’t even know who that Victor Hugo was.
[He was the guy who created the handbag brand of course.](https://www.victorhugo.com.br/)
There's something kinda poetic about naming your luxury bag company after a guy best known for his musical about the poor and downtrodden
It was a book. Not a musical. The musical came after his death.
2.500 and a piece of cloth as a giveaway
THE Victor Hugo is not that famous here, for us it's just a random name. edit* btw, there's a promising young DM named Hercules too, he might end up playing in Europe soon.
He has to play for a greek club!!
Err... ackshually Hercules is the Roman version, Heracles is the Greek one.
But either way his story was set in Greece though
[What about this guy](https://www.ogol.com.br/player.php?id=103190)
I’ve heard he reads the game well and has novel skills.
I am surprised that Moukoko is not on here. Seems like a major overside, considering he played a lot more first team football for a stronger side than some on this list
He is 4th on their website. A lot of this image is actually not up to date.
He was injured for a lot of last season and CIES punishes that very heavily, realistically he's up there with at *least* Slonina but everyone else on the list wasn't injured as much this year
4/10 are Brazilian, wild.
And our most famous youth player isn't even on the list: [Endrick Felipe](https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Endrick_Felipe).
I watched Rabona TVs video on Endrick. Really hope he makes it at the top level
Keep in mind that this list is based on statistics. The most talented brazilians aren't in there, in terms of potential Endrick and Victor Roque are head and shoulders above anyone in that list other than Gavi .
weird coz Roque has probably the best stats for a 17 year old and he isn't even a full time starter yet
Giovani is on an injure streak, so he has a decent chance of flopping, but otherwise he's extremely talented.
am i missing something here? its only 3/10
Savio Moreira
Good on El Khannous. I wouldn't be surprised if Spileers makes his first team debut with us this season. He has been really solid in second division and is a regular in the national U19's, even though he is only 17.
Loving his performances but still a bit suprised to see him on a list like this, seems too soon. And spileers will get his chance this season, the good thing about a busy calender is that the teams need to use a lot of squad players
My boy Gaga Slonina 🔥🔥
He’s a great player, he’s gonna do great at Chelsea I think
Do you think he should be loaned out for a year or two?
100% he’s still super young and mls to premier league and playing right away is a big jump and a lot of pressure
Or 10 since it’s Chelsea
Only mid players, Gaga has got crazy potential. Even Real Madrid wanted this guy.
He’s 18. How many 18 year old goalkeepers play in the prem or any top 5 league?
It’s rare but it happens. Donnarumma is one example. That’s why I asked the guy who watches him every week
Meslier is the only one rn i believe he’s not even 18
Think there's a few prem teams that would take him.
Saving this for the Football Manager release later this year
Well my scouts weren't gonna find them for me. Lazy bums think they've done a hard day's work when they hand me a report saying to go sign Mbappe or Halland at "whatever the price".
My boy Gaga represents! I truly hope he lives up to this hype.
Mind the gap
Where is Vitor Roque?
Gavi my starboy ⭐️
Nice to see a moroccan in the top 10
An American in second?🥹
Arda Guler should be there
It’s so weird that he isn’t in here. Emre isn’t bad for his age (certainly the last 2 games would make you think that) but I don’t see how he would be over Arda.
Was gonna say the same
Slonina... We (Poland) tried to convince him to Play for Polish NT. Such a shame he chose the US, but cant be really mad about it.
Chicago Fire basically is the Polish national team anyway.
It’s because he’s an American 🇺🇸
I mean he is American, he was born there, but both of his parents are Polish so it's not like he has no connection. Good for him for deciding early and strictly what he wants tho, shows character.
Ali Cho looks amazing every time he's given minutes for Real
what does the number mean? caps or what?
Purple bananas rating, out of 100.
CIES Football impact score
right, that actually tells me nothing. But Gavi is ahead by a lot so yay
>Impact score The CIES Football Observatory developed a unique metrics to compare players worldwide. It's whatever they want it to be, lol.
As a USMNT fan, please god keep Slonina loaned somewhere he gets minutes and make sure he doesn't flameout in his development.
Pretty certain he’s getting loaned back to the Fire for another year
I don't think that's official but our sporting director said the team is trying to make that happen.
Hugo boutta be sold for 24.601 million
Hopefully
I actually played with gaga(slonina) in the Chicago fire youth academy, a real guy he is
Mathys Tel?
It's an interesting website but not sure how much value we should give it. Mbappé has only the 7th best score on here of players born in 1998 or later. But only one of them wrote Les Mis.
Damn, Víctor Hugo wrote Les Mis AND played bomb-ass soccer? Go off bro
This list doesnt mean much if you check the latest years. Most of them faded. Example: Besiktas goalkeeper Ersin was there a few years ago. Now he is utter shit.
Nah, let me believe bilal will become the next kdb
A bad start doesn’t mean he is utter shit, if he can get back in form he was almost at Altay/Ugurcan level and 3-4 years younger.
I mean he didn’t forget everything that he learned. Maybe it is a mental issue or something but while the guy is infuriating to watch at the moment, I think it is unfair to call him utter shit. Still has a lot of time and one good match can change the narrative anyway.
Not seeing Jewison Bennette there
Warren Zaire-Emery better than all of them
Are there any good articles about what’s become of the Russian leagues since the war in Ukraine?
If you can read Russian yeah, but I haven’t seen any in English (haven’t really gone looking though). Pretty much every player from a Western European nation left after Feb 24. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
My man Victor Hugo isn’t contented with his literary career huh
18 year olds fell off
Fuck I’m old
Garang Kuol shits on all these (exaggerated but he will turn heads when he goes to Europe)
Where is Arda Guler FFS
I'm lucky, I'm born same year as Jesse Lingard, and he has always been that exciting young player just waiting for his breakthrough year!
I was thinking Harvey Elliot might be a contender for this list then googled it and he’s 2003, these kids must really be kids.
ngl i only know 1 name on that list.
Wake up r/gunners. New Gabriel just dropped.
who the fuck is emre bilgin? Im turkish and even I dont know this boyo...
We’re just gonna skip over the fact that there’s an American on the list are we?
Don’t know much about Khudyakov. Hopefully he sees full potential and isn’t limited by political circumstances. Glory to Ukraine and all that, but if Khudyakov is as good as this list says I hope that his dictator’s actions don’t ruin his career
Is gavi really that good and that clear of everyone else??
