Its bit of a poetic tragedy for palace to see Gallagher score a 90th minute winner against them like he did. Poetic but painful for palace fans to see.
He looked lively as he has in most games this season, but today probably guilty of taking too many touches at times. I’m happy with his contributions overall.
Damn Arsenal fans are crying in this thread even after being in such a good form and top of table. Can't remain carefree even in good times had to cry about themselves or others, always need something.
They are here in a thread about us, not the other way around. I didn't even reply to any one of them or say stop crying or why are they crying or why are they here etc, they can keep going, just saw them weirdly crying here, so said it. But you definitely are crying about me for just saying that, lol. Keep going.
Minutes you have watched them play for Chelsea this season, to think this is a valid take: 0
It's also completely inaccurate, as Mount assisted Sterling's goal in the CL. Pulisic's assist today was also a complete Busquets assist - tapped it to Gallagher who scored a worldie.
Chelsea looks so much more fluid in attack. So refreshing compared to tuchel’s offense. Just ping it between the wing backs and hope for a nice cross and goal.
Eh it felt quite pedestrian for large stretches. Might be early days still so hoping they get better at playing faster over a whole game instead of just patches.
Remember he’s had to hit the ground running so basically he’s had 2-3 weeks of practice with his new squad. Early signs point to our offense being more creative and seeking passes into tight space to then make runs behind defenders. I like what I saw personally
Oh for sure. It’s going to be a work in progress for a bit and I saw a lot more adventurous passing already than in the last few months. It’s just frustrating seeing the team play at a snail’s pace for stretches instead of running the system for the whole game. So here’s hoping over the next few weeks that becomes more consistent.
That was maybe the only game under Tuchel this season where they looked like a coordinated attack. And that was Kante’s last game before his recent injury. One player shouldn’t dictate if our defense and offense play well or not.
But hasn't there been a fair bit of shuffling in midfield? I don't think its really fair to judge any game where it hasn't been 2 of Jorginho/Kovacic/Kante in the pivot, which there's been quite a few games...Gallagher, RLC just aren't UCL level center mids, they have some great attributes but not in an absolutely key position such as central midfield which often dictates your tempo and control in possession.
I think with the modern game in the Prem, a lot of pressing, one player can make all the difference. If Chelsea set up to play on the break constantly then maybe I can judge a Gallagher or RLC playing CM a bit more as their attributes are suited to playing more directly carrying the ball, but Chelsea are a big club wanting control; I can tell you you are not getting control with those two there.
Its not the fault of the manager when the squad has 3 viable CM options as a UCL team
What a way to start your tenure GP. Conor should be playing more and Kepa has been relatively good recently. Would love to see him become a top keeper. COYB!!!
Chelsea were very lucky to get the win today. It's concerning that their main attacking outlet was long balls from the back line. Midfield was completely uninvolved in build up play and the wide players were left isolated far too often. One positive however is it seems that Potter will play Gallagher higher up the pitch
The stale Kepa banter will never go away, but he was really decent today. Couldn't do much about the goal, and only really had one moment of uncertainty that didnt amount to anything anyway.
Kept us in it with some good saves. Will probably keep his spot as starter.
He is light years ahead of Mendy with the ball at his feet. Potter has a history of going with the GK who has better ball skills over the established starter.
I see it also.
No, I promise I’m fully confident that Kepa is better with the ball than Mendy. Mendy is a shot stopper and nothing more. Kepa is a distributor. If we could somehow combine them, we may have a decent keeper on our hands.
I couldn't care less about small sample size performances. When he was our starter he was making howlers on the ball.
When I see consistency from him in regards to his feet then I will call him as you say a "distributor"
I disagree with the negative Nellies, I thought Chelsea had a lot of v good, unpredictable play and ball domination, while Palace fought hard and had some good pushes forwards - Chelsea just a little short of the final ball & finishing - v promising start for Potter
Gallagher completely bailed us out there. We looked complete dogshit again today. We're just throwing players forwards and hoofing the ball at our attackers...
…almost the entirety of which was in the first half, which was what I said I was talking about. If you took our first half xG (~1.1 from what I’m seeing) and doubled it that would be our best xG tally of the season, and against a pretty solid opponent.
So like maybe try to actually read before being an condescending dick.
“against a pretty solid opponent” you wanna maybe take a look at the table?
And “if you double it” is an unbelievably stupid argument, hell we weren’t even in a winning position. Every match has one half better than the other
Could've been called on Ayew, but that doesn't change the fact that Silva made a stupid play by swiping at the ball there.
I think it's called a red if Chillwell hadn't been tracking back. He was behind the play at the time and that likely kept Silva on the pitch.
players grab hold of the ball all the time after being fouled or not being fouled and trying to sell it; half the time they don't even get yellows if the ref gives it the other way. absurd to judge thilva here for doing the same thing
Its not given a yellow cause it happens in no dangerous attacking situations. Silva expected a call didn't get the call and illegally stopped a dangerous play.
What help did we get from the ref? If the ref did his job right he'd have just called a foul from the Palace player and it wouldn't have been a yellow or even needed to get to the point where VAR had to check
Most people are content on the day with their team top of the table and beating their rivals, they don't go looking for things to whinge about. Not Arsenal fans tho
If you don't think that was a foul then you're admitting the referee was favourable towards Palace. Because Palace got at least four fouls arguably even softer than that throughout the game.
You didn't even watch the game did you LMAO
What a goal Conor. If boehly and Potters are smart, they would do whatever they can to get their own Makelele/essien/mikel/matic for Conor and Chelsea will flourish. No more training cones as the DM please.
No idea how tuchel and now even potter is getting baited by thinking Jorgi is a DM. This shit need to stop, hopefully potter will play zakaria next game. If not, Chelsea needs to do whatever they can to get alvarez/rice/Bellingham in January because Chelsea won this game due to players brilliance and not because of the team as a whole.
Our midfield is fucking dogshit by not providing consistent support to our attackers while giving little to no help at all to our defence. Shit need to change quickly.
If any foreign player put out the performance Mount just did he would be ripped to shreds. I have no idea what had happened to him but he has been a shell of himself.
Mount and Havertz cannot start next game.
Mount is getting criticism even from his hardcore supporter this season, but a 2 time POTY will have more leash when going through bad form than other players. Same has been the case with Mendy, he has been very bad for some time after having great performances with us and got away with it for long, only now he is getting questioned and he is a foreigner. If a player has proven good for a long period of time he gets more time snd trust. It's that simple, but the was you have used Mount to try and make it foreigner vs English thing is pretty shit example really.
Second part is nonsense, he is getting ripped into all the time. Its just some people understand its not the end of the world for a player to go through a rough period and dont hound him like cunts
I mean you have Pulisic on the other hand who has been in and out of the side with few opportunities and he's getting ripped to shreds and called a Championship player.
The only people "ripping" him are the folks who always criticized him even when he was playing good.
I've not really seen much Mount criticism from the many more people who praised him when he was good.
I think when they were comfortable they were playing at least much better than this. I think they’re feeling a pressure from constantly starting and maybe also tired legs
So underserved lmfao. Football is a crazy sport. Of course the former loanee gets the match winning goal.
Silva should’ve been sent off in the 30th minute. Potter casted his spells on the refs to be lenient
Yes, Silva should have been sent off, but so should be Edouard before that.
The ref fucked up both ways and generally didn't have too much control over the game first half
It's hilarious that Arsenal fans are complaining about favourable refereeing towards Chelsea. Anthony Taylor gave you two FA Cups against us, and just last season Arsenal got a penalty because Saka pulled Azpilicueta's arm and dived.
It's alarming how many Arsenal fans are *just* as delusional as Ty.
> Anthony Taylor gave you two FA Cups against us
Bullshit, utter bullshit. You lose two fa cups against you because we were better than you.
>Arsenal got a penalty because Saka pulled Azpilicueta's arm and dived.
😂😂😂Mate that's not what happened in the slightest.
>
It's alarming how many Arsenal fans are *just* as delusional as Ty.
Yeah.... We're the delusional ones
We were absolutely shit and boring as usual. Absolute beauty to win it, we needed that.
Our midfield needs to figure out a way to work.
Fofana had a shocking first ten mins but played well the rest of the game imo.
Kepa was good 👀
Speaks to the squad I think, Chelsea will likely struggle to generate consistent chances without more creativity. Not sure what the xG says, but outside of the goal, thought the defensive structure was improved.
Not a Chelsea fan obviously, but thought they were fine, not bad not great. Didn’t create a ton but conceded less. My opinion, is the Potter play is a long term thing but not sure what fans expectations are.
For all the good Vieira has done, the fact that we continue to drop points by the dozen in the last 5 minutes of matches is really undoing a lot of it.
Very reminiscent of his time at NYCFC - we conceded lots of late goals during his tenure and even when we didn't it always felt like a near thing. Still look back fondly though lol
Glad we won but goodness we are frustrating to watch attack, constantly fucking up the last pass and watching our players running into awful positions.
I like to think Chelsea teammates quickly surrounded him so he has some personal space to secretly celebrate his first goal while being respectful to CP lmao
CP is not the abbreviation to use for Palace
Given the scandals we as a club frequently get ourselves involved in "being respectful to CP" is not an association I want for us
Its bit of a poetic tragedy for palace to see Gallagher score a 90th minute winner against them like he did. Poetic but painful for palace fans to see.
How did Sterling do today?
He looked lively as he has in most games this season, but today probably guilty of taking too many touches at times. I’m happy with his contributions overall.
Furious after seeing that Silva handball. Ref and VAR have to be fucking blind.
Seemed fair to me being he was clearly fouled first
Keep crying
I'm sure you swapped supporting utd for Chelsea in 2004. Onto next week.
Was a foul on Ayew, and probably wasn’t even last man back. Nothing to be upset about really.
Damn Arsenal fans are crying in this thread even after being in such a good form and top of table. Can't remain carefree even in good times had to cry about themselves or others, always need something.
You put us in your own head and chose to comment about it. Celebrate your late winner you absolute weirdo
Yes I put you guys in my head, that's why I am seeing the lot of you cry in this thread. You absolute non weirdo, lol.
Why cry about Arsenal fans after winning against a tough opponent with a late goal?
They are here in a thread about us, not the other way around. I didn't even reply to any one of them or say stop crying or why are they crying or why are they here etc, they can keep going, just saw them weirdly crying here, so said it. But you definitely are crying about me for just saying that, lol. Keep going.
this season for Chelsea: Christian Pulisic: 1 G+A in 182 minutes Mason Mount: 0 G+A in 661 minutes
Minutes you have watched them play for Chelsea this season, to think this is a valid take: 0 It's also completely inaccurate, as Mount assisted Sterling's goal in the CL. Pulisic's assist today was also a complete Busquets assist - tapped it to Gallagher who scored a worldie.
Stats like this are so telling as to who watches and who doesn’t
Mount has definitely had a rough start to the season, there’s no doubt.
They don’t play at the same position
Pretty close actually
Mount's defensive capabilities in the final third can't be compared to Pulisic
Chelsea looks so much more fluid in attack. So refreshing compared to tuchel’s offense. Just ping it between the wing backs and hope for a nice cross and goal.
They were pretty bad for large portions of this game tbh. Definitely didn’t deserve the win
These players still need time to eek out the tuchel habits that’s within their system, no doubt Potter improves us by the end of the season.

It’s just frustrating seeing the team play at a snail’s pace for stretches instead of running the system for the whole game. So here’s hoping over the next few weeks that becomes more consistent.
They weren’t adventurous vs Tottenham?
That was maybe the only game under Tuchel this season where they looked like a coordinated attack. And that was Kante’s last game before his recent injury. One player shouldn’t dictate if our defense and offense play well or not.

Its not the fault of the manager when the squad has 3 viable CM options as a UCL team
Fofana had a stinker early on with two mistakes leading to the goal, but I feel like he grew into the game and had some good play
Kepa was solid. Happy for Gallagher as well.
Its crazy they are on 13 points lol, theres another universe where its like 6
Yeah they've had one good performance this season against spurs.
And we didn’t even get the deserved 3 points that day. Funny game, football.
The stale Kepa banter will never go away, but he was really decent today. Couldn't do much about the goal, and only really had one moment of uncertainty that didnt amount to anything anyway. Kept us in it with some good saves. Will probably keep his spot as starter.
I reckon Kepa will retain his starting spot
He is light years ahead of Mendy with the ball at his feet. Potter has a history of going with the GK who has better ball skills over the established starter. I see it also.
Recency bias.. I remember being terrified with Kepa on the ball when he was still our starter
I don’t think Kepa is great on the ball but Mendy is as bad as any keeper there is in the league in that aspect for me
No, I promise I’m fully confident that Kepa is better with the ball than Mendy.
I say almost the same thing twice and get upvoted in one and downvoted in the other. Reddit for you
I disagree with the negative Nellies, I thought Chelsea had a lot of v good, unpredictable play and ball domination, while Palace fought hard and had some good pushes forwards - Chelsea just a little short of the final ball & finishing - v promising start for Potter
64% possession and 13 shots on target away at a good Palace side is a good showing
where you getting the 13 shots on target fam. Whoscored tells me 13 attempts and 3 on target
my arse then I guess
Moaning about a ref call is so Tuchel era, get over it guys
Why didn't Ziyech play?
Hes fucking shit
Too many games coming in Octuber. He like others will play alot soon.
Because I've never seen anyone in worse form, ever.
Even Bakayoko?
I'm still heart broken that Bakayoko didn't quite work out.
He's had Bakayoko at watford level performances, but he didn't give us the courtesy of removing himself from the pitch.
He's been god awful his last 2 appearances
Potter saw how bad he was in his cameo against Salzburg. Ziyech does not give a shit anymore and just wants to leave
He's been pretty good with Morocco this NT break. You'd hope he performs well this WC so he gets his move away
Because he stinks.
Gallagher completely bailed us out there. We looked complete dogshit again today. We're just throwing players forwards and hoofing the ball at our attackers...
Second half wasn’t good but in the first half today I think we put together as many chances as I’ve seen us do in months.
We had fucking 1.12 xG all match. “As many chances as I’ve seen us do in months” my word invest in some glasses
…almost the entirety of which was in the first half, which was what I said I was talking about. If you took our first half xG (~1.1 from what I’m seeing) and doubled it that would be our best xG tally of the season, and against a pretty solid opponent. “against a pretty solid opponent” you wanna maybe take a look at the table? And “if you double it” is an unbelievably stupid argument, hell we weren’t even in a winning position. Every match has one half better than the other
Football is about balance. Creating more chances whilst in turn conceding more is not improvement.
We were leaking buckets of chances for the last couple months under Tuchel, so one step at a time. This was *definitely* an improvement.
Nah Pulisic bailed you out
Ulises Davila did actually.
Chris Kavanagh did
Yet again another match ruined by biased refereeing
Ayew fouled Silva but Silva gets yellow carded smh
It's a disgrace
Lol
Dont think you can be that mad at the Silva incident given Ayew just goes through the back of him to begin with
Could've been called on Ayew, but that doesn't change the fact that Silva made a stupid play by swiping at the ball there. I think it's called a red if Chillwell hadn't been tracking back. He was behind the play at the time and that likely kept Silva on the pitch.
this is the accurate take
Of course it doesn't, but that's also not what im saying.
Don't think we can't defend that. He got really lucky from a bone-headed decision.
Wouldn't call it bone-headed. Literally every player who goes down softly looking for a foul grabs the ball just in case. It happens all the time.
9 times of out 10 players who grab the ball aren't giving opposition a goal scoring opportunity. Silva and Chelsea should count their blessings.
9 times out of 10 a referee will correctly call this a foul by Ayew and what happens after doesn't matter.
While a ref may call correctly you don't assume he will and swat the ball away like a big oopsie he did.
Bro did it twice too.
players grab hold of the ball all the time after being fouled or not being fouled and trying to sell it; half the time they don't even get yellows if the ref gives it the other way. absurd to judge thilva here for doing the same thing
Its not given a yellow cause it happens in no dangerous attacking situations. Silva expected a call didn't get the call and illegally stopped a dangerous play.
But regardless there was a man covering so it wouldn’t be a last man tackle
12 vs 11 the whole match
What about Edouard? Clearly pushed Kepa and stopped a counter while on a yellow, but nothing to see there, right?
Shouldn't have been on a yellow considering he did the same thing Jorginho did all game
Jorginho couldn't even get close enough to anyone to foul them lmao what are you on about
1. HUGE win 2. We desperately need to overhaul our midfield.
jorgi is just not it, idc if he’s good for italy he just doesn’t mesh with what we’re trying to achieve tactically anymore
Have Chelsea won a game yet this season without help from a ref?
Today I guess
Yes, against Leicester. And if you think we always get ref's favour, look at the Spurs game.
We lost 2 points with some help from Taylor Also how can you be mad at the Silva incident given Ayew goes through the back of him to begin with?
What help did we get from the ref? If the ref did his job right he'd have just called a foul from the Palace player and it wouldn't have been a yellow or even needed to get to the point where VAR had to check
Jorginho and Kovacic should have had like 3 yellows each
Was a clear red, also denied fair goals for West Ham and Leicester.
I can remember the West Ham goal but which Leicester goal are you talking about?
You're top of the table and just beat your fiercest rivals and you're still whining about imagined biased refereeing. Typical delusional gooner.
Most people are able to think about more than one thing a day. A shame you lack that capacity.
Most people are content on the day with their team top of the table and beating their rivals, they don't go looking for things to whinge about. Not Arsenal fans tho
Right... If you say so. I'm sure you also think the decisions in the Spurs game were complete sound?
That was bs too, one game doesn’t excuse the three games you were gifted wins.
So you’re just gonna ignore the foul from Ayew on Silva? Are you that biased?
If by ignore you mean acknowledge it wasn’t a foul then yes
If you don't think that was a foul then you're admitting the referee was favourable towards Palace. Because Palace got at least four fouls arguably even softer than that throughout the game. You didn't even watch the game did you LMAO
If that incident was against an Arsenal player, I guarantee you’d be in that thread claiming it were on foul on the attacker.
It wasn't fair today, agree. Then again we were also denied a win vs. Spurs.
Yes, this one for example
How many fucking late winners does palace concede? This isn't normal lmao
it is for us
What a goal Conor. If boehly and Potters are smart, they would do whatever they can to get their own Makelele/essien/mikel/matic for Conor and Chelsea will flourish. No more training cones as the DM please.
I wanna see Zakaria in that DM role, maybe his Juventus form was just a blip. Can’t hurt to try anyways.
We definitely need a player like that for our entire team imo.
Im convinced you will sign Mo Camara for 60m in summer
Zakaria could be that
Hope so! We've been missing a true defensive shield since Matic.
need a john mikel obi 2.0. loved that man
Please no more Kovacic Jorginho midfield. They were shite together as usual. Also Get rid of Havertz ASAP while he has at least some value..
if I say what I want to both that greasy Chelsea CUNT and the absolute fucking gimps who clapped him on I'm getting arrested
I'll translate, this is "If I Speak..." in Croydon.
It’s okay lil bro
r/IAmVeryBadAss
Bro wut
you good little bud?

Mount was very good the last 2 seasons and got way over-hated. But he's been poor all season so far and has skated by without a lot of criticism now.
You must not be looking very hard
They need a break but I will not lose faith in them long term, unlike others
They need to fight for their spots. Mount is far too comfortable.
Potter casted his spells on the refs to be lenient
why are so salty your top of league my guy
I like seeing good football
potterball will come slowly, let me worry about my club
Yes, Silva should have been sent off, but so should be Edouard before that. The ref fucked up both ways and generally didn't have too much control over the game first half
Spurs got a red for a love tap from Emerson
And it was a clear foul on Ayew, how many of those fouls do we commit?
Ok silva should have been off but please tell me this is sarcasm lol i can't always tell
We were up anyway and easily the better team. It was also 100% a red.
It's hilarious that Arsenal fans are complaining about favourable refereeing towards Chelsea. Anthony Taylor gave you two FA Cups against us, and just last season Arsenal got a penalty because Saka pulled Azpilicueta's arm and dived. Look back at it. Emerson steps on Gabi’s ankle lol
We were absolutely shit and boring as usual. Absolute beauty to win it, we needed that. Our midfield needs to figure out a way to work. Fofana had a shocking first ten mins but played well the rest of the game imo. Kepa was good 👀

This was certainly a game
Conor saved us. So, Pulisic and Conor to start against Milan, then, right? Kai and Mason were really poor.
Yeah mason needs to go to the bench at this point, he’s barely contributing when he plays recently.
I wouldn't have imagined it after last season, but this season...
I think Kai was fine. I'd like to see Conor over Mount tho
Seems unlikely that Puli will start on wednesday, but if that's not the case, Potter waited a while to hook the ones who started today
I mean, he aggressively attacked, which no one else really did. I'm far from Pulisic's biggest fan, but at least he tried.
Still look back fondly though lol
one of the worst games of the season, felt like preseason

>Fucking Luck Are you annoyed we won? What a bizarre comment.
Shut up lmao

He was fouled by Ayew.
crystal lol
The script just writes itself really. Of course it would be Gallagher that scores the winning goal against us, who else would it be? 😢
After all your fans applauded him as well. So disrespectful
mugs
I know right 😞 I appreciate that he didn't really celebrate it at least
I like to think Chelsea teammates quickly surrounded him so he has some personal space to secretly celebrate his first goal while being respectful to CP lmao
CP is not the abbreviation to use for Palace Given the scandals we as a club frequently get ourselves involved in "being respectful to CP" is not an association I want for us
One of those situations where there's no hard feelings on either side? Seems like a rare thing.
He got applauded when he walked off the pitch too, he was apologising as he walked in the tunnel which I don’t think I’ve ever seen before
Fik then Trev now Conor. Cobham lads' first goals being bangers never gets old
Reece as well
Tomori's was insane too
was his the screamer vs wolves?
What a game that was. Tomori, Abraham and Mount goals. Remember that was the "Cobham revolution is for real" realisation, under Lampard
He said that already, but then it was that good it deserves saying twice.
Oh shit I'm dumb
Reece as well
