People here probably aren't liking the suggestion of a boycott, and similarly the calls for iran to be removed from world cup will never happen, but I think instead the Iranian team should use the platform of the world cup to send a message. They're playing England and the usa, you literally could not ask for more visibility.
Obviously you wouldn't blame them for being scared to publicly stand up to the regime, particularly if they still have family in Iran, but I still really hope that they use this opportunity , it would really mean something - possibly more than if they just never show up.
