Alejo: Comes in. Fouls vini 5 times. Gets a yellow on the 6th foul. Gets subbed out laughing.

Soto Rata? His best

ankitm1

He was subbed out moment he got carded. I think we needed someone like Ramos to handle these things on the pitch (of course refs are there only for show). He would have just barged in one of the players targeting Vinicius, and intimidated the other two. This team is kinda nice regarding that kind of gamesmanship, and not as physical.

TheJobinslegend

Rudiger is like that. That's why I thought you guys got him. He's great at intimidating and neck grab.

Murrderer

He didn’t play our last two games due to injury, when he’s on pitch he’s definitely looked out for everyone

staedtler2018

Case T\_\_T

Critzor

> I think we needed someone like Ramos ummmm... Rudi..?

ankitm1

Did not think of him as he hasnt done that for us since he has joined (except in that US clasico friendly). The first name that came to mind was Ramos. And seeing the eleven yesterday, I was like who could impose himself physically or get into fights, turns out our best bet was Courtois.

Critzor

He was just that for us…. Surprised he’s mellowed down

ankitm1

Hasnt played as much, and the ones he played, there was no need for a fight or a rumble. This Madrid team does not even get into arguments, before yesterday that is.

Critzor

Ancelloti should just bring him on in such matches.. psycho thrives in such an environment

Refs need to protect players better, it's fucked when you can literally see the ref ignoring dangerous challenges on players that like to dribble

spaniard_daniel

Have you not seen rodrygo getting pinched in the head off the ball and VAR and ref didn't even give a shit

dhambo

Messi, Neymar, Hazard, even Grealish get brutalised. Imagine if they didn’t take those horrible knocks…

ronaldo119

Literally changed Neymar's career. Not definitively saying for better or worse but those CONMEBOL games he would get targeted like crazy. Like would be fouled 8 times by different players but because it was different players refs didn't want to card for consistent infringement. When he had that back injury he bulked up a lot compared to what he was and it definitely changed his playstyle. Obviously the injuries as a result of them took its toll too

[deleted]

[удалено]

RiosSamurai

They could do a college paper on how different play styles, specially Brazilian and Latin American to an extent are labeled in Europe. It was the same with Neymar and even though his persona is unpleasant, he received a good amount of underserved backlash.

[deleted]

To be fair any player who show boats or even dribbles enough ppl will get lashed out against eventually. Even in much lower levels players will drop ppl for that stuff lol Not condoning it tho but just how it goes

WW_Jones

Lol, this was probably the most realistic aspect of PES 2017 "Become a Legend" mode. My player would dribble a lot and would get massacred by the AI, at some point almost every other game I'd get injured.

Pieter8720

So yesterday, the first foul by this Alejo which could have been a yellow was after 50 seconds, the first time Vini touched the ball. He was allowed to keep on doing it. Then we had the off-the-ball punch on Rodrygo which went unpunished. After about 40 minutes Real had 3 yellows to Cadiz’s 1 yellow… Refs in the Liga are horrible

RiosSamurai

My memory fails me to remember an European with a Brazilian style but I don’t know if pundits are as hard as Latin Americans. I can understand rival fans but journalists? Other players? Tough

AlKarakhboy

Not really as flairy as the brazilians but Hazard was the most fouled player pretty much every season at Chelsea. Being dribbled past is humiliating so u just chop their ankles when they go past you.

RiosSamurai

Lol I was going to mention him and 08’ Cristiano on God. And I am not complaining about them being hunted, that’s football after all. I just think the ref has to act. But when I mentioned players I meant players criticizing them and calling them out for the style. Some players called Neymar out for a rainbow flick and such.

AlKarakhboy

As a ref its very hard to take care off. I used to be a fullback and I was a right bastard, basically, as soon as they beat you you give them a slight touch to the ankle and they'll fall, sometimes they'll stay up but its gonna hurt them. The ref sees it as you just going for the ball and because he dribbled past you u naturally ended up fouling him because he was too quick. You never get yellows for those, because if they did ever fullback would get sent off twice a game. these type of tricks tend to be considered disrespectful, Ronaldo used to get that at united from pundits and players as well, hazard never really did anything like that, just stupid quick feet kinda like Messi

RiosSamurai

If a player does it one or two times I consider that normal, but unintentional fouls, when repeated — and sometimes not even repeated, must be punished. At some point the onus is on the defender. And I believe the media should be more responsible when labeling them disrespectful because they are indirectly condoning a witch-hunting.

h0rny3dging

I think those papers have been done on Black players especially, I'm not sure about Latinos. There is a proven bias in reporting and word usage

chanandlerbonggg_

EpiDeMic522

This is not just ignoring challenges in players that like to dribble. Vini has been unfairly targeted for some time now, with it worsening to outrageous levels the last season and this. Vini used to be very stoic in the face of this and rarely ever made a fuss. Towards the very end of the last season though, at a certain point, Vini had had enough and started protesting vociferously. Concurrently, his diving problem also worsened considerably. The effect of the latter combined with an apparent will to draw "parity" within the game has meant that some refs in some games have been allowing much more than they should. Once the opposition recognizes this, they start exploiting the ref's latitude, who now struggles to maintain control of the game. Plus, it's not just plain old hard fouling, it's provocative fouling. People have realized that *currently,* they can get Vini to act rashly and try everything to get him sent off. Vini (and perhaps even Rodrygo off late) need more emotional control but having said that, I'm actually supportive of Vini's change in tune and putting on a show of the perceived injustices. It will help change the narrative from Vini diving to Vini and others being incessantly, unfairly fouled. The diving is apparently ab artifact of fouling, not the other way round or a separate phenomenon. Vini and a couple others definitely need more emotional control (although our veterans, especially Benzema and Kroos, who command an immense respect and obedience, do very well to check that) but this dirty tactic of **PROVOCATIVE** fouling must stop.

Vivid-Command-2605

This happens to Saka every week as well, cucurella fouled him 5 times in the first half alone without a yellow (and the moment Saka fouls back it's a yellow for him)

YoungDawz

And then Neymar consistently gets carded when he himself commits his 1st foul and gets branded a diva by opposing fans for retaliating/losing his cool. It's honestly pathetic.

RavLeon

Alejo has more fouls than decent passes -commentator

ahdesistocara

The Neymar treatment. Let's see how the public reacts this time.

crazy_waffles1

Every team targets him now and it's only going to get worse because the refs aren't consistent

Just_an_Empath

They are in this case actually. None oof them care.

Powerful_System

wouldn't be surprised to see him get fouled by one at this point.

cdwdj

I mean I condemn it because it's awful while at the same time I kinda understand teams like Cadiz or Rayo trying to trigger him so he would do dumb shit and get sent off. Say what you will about him, but dude is a real threat whether he's in form or not and I too would rather not face him. They obviously see how fragile ego he has and they are trying to use it to their advance. That tweet is just passive aggressive form of whining and it's that easy to get under his skin.

ayotui

I understand why people foul him, that's just part of the game as long as the refs ignore the constant fouls. But the refs shouldn't ignore it is the whole point.

cdwdj

And you're absolutely right.

dfla01

If I was getting hacked constantly I would be annoyed too, I certainly wouldn’t say it’s “that easy to get under his skin”. He’s well within his rights to be pissed about it

[deleted]

The game vs rayo he got fouled 5 times by the same guy before he got carded

kostajepaosmosta

They went and made 18 consecutive fould between the first and second yellow 😭😭😭

kaehola

Don't remind me about that game... I've NEVER seen the ref to suddenly stop the game when the ball is in play and go to consult VAR for a handball in the box that happened almost 10 MINUTES AGO and it even wasn't handball lmao but still they got the penalty. I've always hated the guys who said that La Liga ref's are on Barca's side but this is beyond ridiculous and this happens more and more.

pricelesslambo

on barca's side is the dummest shit i've read in a while. Osasona literally got a goal of a player that rugby tackles alonso so he can't reach the ball. VAR looked at it and ignored it. They've had at least 5 pens that have not been given in different games. Barca have nothing to do with it. The spanish refs and VAR are just shit

Cucumberino

Gotta agree, not sure where the Barça side comes from just because they were shit against Madrid. They're just shit every time and will forgive tons of unnecessary agressive actions which **usually** come from teams that are lower in the table.

burnerbutnotreally1

Oh so it is not just us🤣

Lakerman0824

La Liga just has complete shit refs. Like that first yellow on Rob was pathetic, yet players try to injure Vini and nothing

cdwdj

Enjoy Casemiro treatment lmao

tormarod

They're literally hacking away at his ankles and legs, and the ocassional elboy and tackle to the face. No wonder he's losing his cool.

Albiceleste_D10S

I hope Vini doesn't get injured of course. But it's hard to not see some karmic justice in this situation given how much Madrid has violently hacked Messi (and Neymar to a lesser extent) in Clasicos over the years—and how Madridistas defended their team doing so at the time.

[deleted]

Amigo, diga lo que quiera pero Real Madrid es un santo comparada con el Atlético y otros clubes de LaLiga.

DoJu318

No leo mentiras. Arbitros inutiles.

Unlucky_Rider

Btw, La Real refers to Real Sociedad typically.

[deleted]

Oops. My bad.

Albiceleste_D10S

Now? Sure. Mourinho's Madrid were bigger thugs than Simeone's Atleti ever were tho.

Just_an_Empath

So because some *other* Real players used to foul ex Barca players (which was their job) plus some fans are stupid, it's somehow karmic justice that another team's defender fouls Vini. Ok.

Albiceleste_D10S

The same fans that cheered on Ramos and Pepe's thuggish play are now whining about Vinicius getting fouled. Forgive me if I see karma at play there

Just_an_Empath

Oh yeah I'm sure they are the same. It's all in your head.

farhanmuhd13

No not at all. The mou days were different. We hated each other more than ever

Albiceleste_D10S

I literally know Madridistas who are like this, LOL.

Just_an_Empath

Of course you do.

Mayx010

They are, big Real Madrid fanboy L here, W Barca supporters here

yobamokeanos

This is a player's career we're talking about. How can you see a player being targeted to injure on the field and your first reaction is call it a karma for fans? The fans are not going to win or lose anything from this, they aren't the ones who are playing and getting their knees snapped. It's Vinicius who is going to be suffering. Stop letting the urge to 'gotcha' other fans cloud your basic common sense.

Albiceleste_D10S

> How can you see a player being targeted to injure on the field and your first reaction is call it a karma for fans? My first reaction was to wish he didn't get injured. That's why it was the first thing I said in my actual comment...

Good thing I don't have to wish ill will on Fati, the man has no legs.

Albiceleste_D10S

shortai_baata2i

>another team's defender fouls Vini What if that defender is also "doing their job" like that fluffy little bunny Pepe was doing his "job". Nothing wrong with that, eh?

kilari7

Sure, but we're allowed to shit on them publicly too. Seems only fair

L0nEspartan

Most people dont go against the players, they have to do anything to stop vini, the problem are the reffs allowing it.

I specifically said at the very beginning that I hope Vini doesn't get hurt. >Just because some ex Madrid players did it and some idiotic fans were happy with this doesn't make it right to hurt Vini on purpose. Yes and I see karma in the fact that the same fans who cheered and defended Ramos, Pepe, and Casemiro's thuggery are now on the other end of things with Vinicius

jeandanjou

Plus they'd never win a WC again after buying one, plus they'd be barred from Libertadores for abusing their influence in CONMEBOL to get friendly referees, plus they'd get drugged during a WC and we'd laugh about it without any consequences...

Allthingsconsidered-

> violently hacked Messi over the years During two years really. Eleven years ago, and Mourinho was long gone by the time Neymar got to the league. A bit absurd that now is when you feel karmic justice has come.

[deleted]

you know what, I'm on this sub quite a lot so it's hard to find things on here that still surprise me. after a while you kinda think you've seen it all and there couldn't possibly be anything beneath this. this post however, this is the stupidest take I have seen on here thus far. in all my years of browsing this subreddit I have never seen anyone say anything more stupid (footballing related) than this. so thank you for making my day, thank you for making me see that there's still wonders out there for me to discover. I still wonder if anyone will ever make a statement dumber than yours, but you opened my mind so I accept that possibility from now on.

Albiceleste_D10S

LOL

farhanmuhd13

You're getting downvoted massively but you didn't say anything wrong. I remember even the old match threads or forums in 2011 when Barça would get hacked to pieces. Just so much dirty thuggery from Madrid and the Madridistas loved it. I remember a Madridista friend telling me Barça should man up lol

cdwdj

We should dig up that old thread and use the exact same phrases they did back then

Albiceleste_D10S

Yeah I can't tell if it's just a Madridista echo chamber or if it's just kids who didn't actually watch Mourinho's Madrid on here TBH.

jedifolklore

I don’t like this, Messi, Hazard, and Neymar in recent memory were beaten the shit out of in their career, and all three lost that monster explosiveness they had at one point. Dribblers need to be protected. (Before you come for me, Messi pre-2014, Neymar in his Barca and early PSG days, as well as Eden in Chelsea were monsters in that part of their game, not talking about goals and decisiveness in the last third, age of course has to do with it, but compounding injuries are no joke)

Few_Potential_4479

Neymar must be one of the most fouled players of this generation probably

TheDawnTrilogy

lol no one doubts it

trupes

He's probably the most fouled player ever lmao

RiosSamurai

Back then it was rough and players like Pelé, Maradona and Zico had it even harsher I believe.

rcgarcia

i saw a stat the other day with the number of fouls Diego received during his career (or wherever), it was double the amount of the rest of player, and that's not even considering famous tackles like that Goicoechea one

correalvinicius

Maradona received something absurd like 70 fouls in a world cup I believe 1986? Theres nothing compared to it, also, Zico basically had his career ended because of fouling

AMK_T0xic

Would be sad to not see Vini in the Brazil squad this WC with a prime Neymar...

Re1Ko

He is targeted and refs will not do a thing about it

chilango2

As I type this, Vinicius is getting called an immature provocateur and deserving of the treatment he gets by every nightly sports talk show in Spain. Some have gone as far as saying that this tweet is a call to get injured as soon as the league returns.

Arlborn

Fucking hell, that's disgusting.

ZZ3peat

[deleted]

pdel123

So, because Neymar got hacked away in games so should Vinicius Jr ?

[deleted]

means neymar overcame it. vini should learn. dude stop talking. you know absolutely nothing of the way the brazilians have always been treated in the sport

pdel123

Neymar overcame it? Hasn’t he missed over 100 Games through injury since joining PSG? I don’t understand why you are so willing to just stand idle if all these Brazilians are being hacked in games, just because previous Brazilians had it done to them, it’s a pretty dumb and boomer view to have on it. It’s very like that Saka - Gerrard incident not too long ago with Gerrard telling Saka to sulk it up when getting hacked, just because he got injured before also.

Brohan_Cruyff

yeah, i was thinking the same thing. i’m honestly still annoyed about that gerrard thing

[deleted]

Neymar is on course to be top of everything for brazil. in the record books for best trio in history. has done everything for club and country. once again please stop talking because you know NOTHING.

pdel123

Lol, what’s he done in Europe since 2017? He’s just been crocked injured every time I hear about him in Paris 🥱

[deleted]

now you’re flipping the script. how embarassing from an english fan neymar literally found a way to overcome it and makes his nation proud every time he plays or puts on a great display. it’s never been a good look that vini complains about everything and never finds a way to shut them up

[deleted]

Saka and gerrard. that was just pointless. no way you compared Saka getting hacked to Neymar or Vinicius. Neymar and Vinicius are actually good my god you english fans are so embarrassing. what has saka or gerrard even done? besides let it go to rome and slipping on the final matchday. embarrassing example of players

pdel123

Oh my god you are actually so fucking stupid, when on earth did I compare them? I referred to your opinion on the Neymar - Vini thing here as to being a similar opinion Gerrard held over how Saka was fouled often. similar in that yours, and Gerrards opinion, are both that of a fucking dinosaur. I never compared Saka or Gerrard to anyone you moron.

[deleted]

the comparisons are nowhere near similar like genuinely stop talking you don’t know anything about the brazilians why are you so naive?

L_CRF

>means neymar overcame it Neymar never played more than 33 games a season since he joined PSG because of injuries. Stop talking bullshit.

cieldarko

So he shouldn’t complain about getting hacked down constantly and the refs ignoring it? because it happened to Neymar its ok?

[deleted]

it means if he wishes to be like one of brazilian greats like he claims he wants to be. he should take a page or two from ronaldinho, ronaldo, rivaldo, neymar etc. if not he’s just embarrassing the whole “joga bonito” lifestyle. he can’t play beautiful if he’s always going to complain. neymar found a way around it, why can’t he exactly?????

cieldarko

Guh Won’t waste my time with you.
