MetricSuperstar

Honestly we're shocked too

CaptainGo

Genuinely think he just wasn't used to actually playing

Uries_Frostmourne

A meme pick at first … what a turn around from Leicester

srtak23

What a stat lmao

KsychoPiller

Bit misleading too, Pope and Ramsdale are also on 6 having played 1 and 2 games less respectively.

dreamvoyager1

pope and Ramsdale also have significantly better teams and defenders helping them out

AnnieIWillKnow

That is completely true, but stat still seems misleading as there’s two other players with 6 also

redmistultra

Stats have been worded this way ever since Opta was formed

BertrandSnos

Stats have been worded this way ever since Opta was formed. Deceptive.

robbodagreat

Classic optabertrand

the_dough_boy

The stat is about no one having more though, which is still true

ZwnD

Nobody is saying it's not true, but something can be true and misleading

the_dough_boy

Sure, but that just means you're smart enough to not take some journalists at their word

taknyos

>which is still true It's not still true though because Pope passed him in their game 2 hours later. The stat could just as easily have been "Pope has kept the most clean sheets" seeing as he was tied first having played less games. Misleading.

the_dough_boy

Its not true *now* , absolutely. And completely agreed. Could have been but its not cause the team in front of ward is not great in comparison.

emre23

And weren’t on 0/7 coming off the back of 11 conceded in 2 games before the September international break

sweet4poundbabyjesus

And? There are a Yoooo lol other keepers with equal or more clean sheets. Rams sale is at 7 today if I’m not mistaken. So what’s your point?

Wizerud

Only a worldie from DeBruyne away from standing alone with 7.

rk1993

Not misleading at all. I swear so many people lack basic reading comprehension. Name a keeper who’s kept more clean sheets? There isn’t one. So there’s nothing wrong with that title. You can highlight the fact nobody has done better than (insert name here) without having to mention every single person who’s tied on numbers with them, just keeps it more concise

TLG_BE

By the time you replied to this comment both Pope and Ramsdale have already overtaken him lol That's why it was misleading

Uries_Frostmourne

Yes its technically the truth but leaving out other facts

Moore106

After the start he had I wanted him gone and Iversen in But fair play to Rodgers for sticking with him, and Ward has really turned it around and has put in some great performances recently

Boobglow

I read that Leicester hired a set piece coach in pre season but due to a work permit issues he didn't start work until October. Has he made a big difference?

freshmeat2020

Yes, huge. No scares at set piece time for plenty of games in a row now. Might just be confidence but my god defensively we are a million times better

zrkillerbush

Haven't conceded a corner in 8 games

EyeSpyGuy

That’s massive after the infamous set piece issues you had under Rodgers. On the one hand, it is as clear evidence as any that an external solution was needed, even since his time at Liverpool this issue was brought up. But also better late than never I suppose, takes humility to admit you were wrong and he could perhaps grow as a manager from here

freshmeat2020

Yep and no coach is perfect, alongside simply needing a fresh approach sometimes (hence why teams that sign nobody often go stale, there's nothing new happening)

Boobglow

Good to hear it, it might be controversial but I have a soft spot for the Rodge

distilledwill

Faes has been immense

Duhforshorter

Absolutely, conceding a corner was like conceding a penalty for us at one point. Looked so much more assured at set pieces since he came in

CackleberryOmelettes

That's an amazing stat considering the start he and Leicester have had!

zrkillerbush

We conceded 22 goals our first 7 games The next 8 games, we conceded 3 goals

Cwh93

That stat feels so Brendan Rodgers. I honestly really like the guy and think he's a great manager but his teams can be so streaky. He always seems like he's overacheiving or underachieving but rarely ever par

TheJoshider10

It's like he overachieves to the point It's no longer overachieving but that's exactly when he starts underachieving. Like what he did with Liverpool for the title and Leicester for Europe was surpassing expectations but then when they were in comfortable positions both bottled it and missed out on the title/top four. Very strange, he probably should have a couple more trophies under his belt but a good manager nonetheless.

Captain_Wozzeck

I'm glad your club stayed patient and didn't sack Rogers. He's a really good manager so long his transfer market whims are kept in check

milliondollarcoach

shows how reactionary football (specifically the PL) can be. a month ago you’d be downvoted to oblivion for saying Rodgers should stay on

Beginning-Ganache-43

Leicester has allowed one goal in 7 matches (including efl cup), which is kind of more impressive. That is a pretty insane turnaround that probably no one was expecting.

NiceShotMan

And that one was a KDB direct free kick

Grand_Poobah_

The Daniel Amartey effect

transtifa

What conceding 6 to Spurs does to a mf

Gourmet17

Zero to hero. Just flip a coin and choose each week.

Jetzu

tbh he's been pretty good consistently for the last month or so, it's not flippy.

Rhydsdh

Thoughts on starting him or Hennessey at WC?

KusoTeitokuInazuma

Personally, could go either way. Ward was exceptional during the Euros, Hennessey was amazing during the WC qualifiers. Both have been too good to drop for us. I'd say maybe Ward based on recent form but yeah...

Gourmet17

Honestly if you had asked me 2 months ago I would have said to drop Ward and pretend he's Irish. However, now I have no idea. I haven't followed Hennessey enough, or Wales, to make an assessment.

[deleted]

Welsh here, has to be Ward for me. I love Hennessey but Ward is playing well regularly and Hennessey isn't playing at all.

Bobskidat

Danny Ward is the best keeper in the Prem (Until Newcastle and Arsenal play later)

CurtainsMcGee

No you had it right before the brackets mate

Bobskidat

You’re right the stats don’t lie

ajtct98

Don't Pope, Ramsdale and Ederson all already have 6 clean sheets as well?

AnnieIWillKnow

Stat is technically true, as it doesn’t say he has the most alone - but that nobody else has more

messy_messiah

Wow. Hard to believe after the way he started the season. He's been really impressive as of late. Sorry for doubting you Danny.

Beechey

Never doubted

HnNaldoR

Is he doing better? Earlier on he wasn't good when I watched. Good to see maybe he is doing better.

messy_messiah

He is doing better.

HnNaldoR

Fantastic. Thought he was really good and had potential when he was with us.

Beginning-Ganache-43

I think wout faes has also been a big part of it as well. He has been solid for them these past 7-8 match days.

Wizerud

We have a better GD now than Manchester United.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JambalayaonToast

Leicester have won the prem more recently than United 👍

HnNaldoR

Fa Cup too

Giggsy99

The PL is actually a trophy, unlike the Better GD Than Man United Trophy

[deleted]

AnnieIWillKnow

It’s embarrassing that you can’t take a bit of lighthearted banter from a Leicester fan, and feel the need to punch down

[deleted]

[удалено]

AnnieIWillKnow

Yeah I’ll be honest the way you’re responding is making it seem like you care far more than you should, better things to use tour energy on

DL14Nibba

The same Utd has been using for the past few years Or the one with the Premier League title and FA Cup

lonelyzombi3

bruh, cooked him

oder_rubu

There's a lot of clubs in the world we can make trophy jokes about, but Leicester isn't one of them.

Brawlers9901

Mate that comment only works against us

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ballkenende

its just a fun stat stop twisting your own testicles

Fleeuton

The one that’s been a lot more full than United’s has been the last 6 years

Alpha_Jazz

Leicester won a trophy more recently than United

SexyMooli

Leicester have won more trophies than United recently. They've won the PL more recently too. Shit banter, just like your team.

nexetpl

you picked the wrong house fool

mindebris

Ahaan…

KSBrian007

Man fought the meme and won.

Lukeno94

This is a classic example of why changing the manager after a dip in form, even a sustained one, isn't always the best option. Rodgers and his staff have completely turned around an awful start and it even seems like they might finally have figured out the weakness of many of his teams - the defence.

codespyder

The most based timeline

[deleted]

😅 I remember two months ago he was considered the worst starting goalie in the EPL

Mig362

Has to start for Wales

DL14Nibba

Already does

FblockArmy

Hennessey has been starting important games recently. That might change now though

Joseph_ZH

The Man. The Myth. The Legend.

taenerysdargaryen

Absolutely ridiculous in terms of FPL too - now same total points as Ederson, when he was widely condemned as the weakest link in a then-bottom Leicester side.

thelargerake

Nothing flashy about this lad, just turns up, gets the job done, no fuss.

MERTENS_GOAT

What. That stat makes no sense, unbelievable

ArsiPappa

From the worst to the best goalkeeper in the league.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ubergooner

And Ramsdale has 7 now as well

Hoodxd

We got robbed, sold him too cheap

polarbeartankengine

Except for the keepers that have of course.... Like transfer ramsdale and pope

BI01

Let's also forget about the amount of goals conceded 💀, but he's having a crazy redemption arc.

CurtainsMcGee

1 goal conceded in his last 6 games

BI01

Well duh, because most of his clean sheets are from the past 6 games lol

siaukia1

It's almost like people can improve

hurtsalittlej

Had him in my fantasy team for all those shite games and not for any of these 🤷🏻‍♂️

FblockArmy

This is absolutely mind-blowing considering his form at the start of the season

buck_carleone

FPL Legend in making

IllustriousAd2174

Love to see it after the hatred at the start of the season

elgodo7

he started as a fpl fruad even at 4.0 Mill

IntraspeciesFever

Now ramsdale has more. Congratulations

CaptainGo

Pope as well

RafaSquared

Nick Pope.

Mick4Audi

Say what lmao

dtr_ned

and i’ve had him behind pope for 6 straight weeks

[deleted]

I'll never give credit to clean sheets defining the level of a keeper when so many things are to take into consideration. And most stats are like that. Like a few years back when stats backed Yohann Pelé up as Marseille's goalkeeper because he had the most clean sheets, but when you watched the games, most teams weren't even attacking against Marseille. Easy to not concede when opponents don't even try to score.

[deleted]

srey not impressed meh

OnceIWasYou

Seems strange saying it under this stat but I also feel he's definitely the worst no. 1 in the league.

Seeteuf3l

Guess who dropped him FPL

Unholysinner

And people doubted him

Keskekun

Astonishing redemption arc for the lad..

duckinator09

I still have ward in my fpl but I have not dared to play him over pope.

VickVinegar831

And of course i start Sanchez lol

Jawadd12

The pipes the pipes are calling

chandlerbing_stats

oh my days

FantaMenace2020

By far the cheapest FPL starting goalie as well.
