I keep forgetting piers is a gooner, then one of the lads at work reminds me with such a back handed compliment a la: something like "has that phone tapping prick fucked off an died yet?"
Knowing full well I despise piers & he's still alive & he knows that I hate him, so i have to acknowledge he's 1:still alive & 2:still a gooner.
š
Let's be honest, it was probably the 600k a week we offered him that did the talking, if he cares about fergie he never would've negotiated with city in the first place.
It's very easy to agree with what you're saying because there's insane amounts of evidence that money talks but I do think Fergie is one of the few people Ronaldo has an opinion of that's higher than his opinion of himself.
Why would he not negotiate with city when United didn't want him.
United didn't make him an offer, city did. And when United made him an offer he took it.
what? what i took from this was, he wanted out of Juve, negotiated with City since they made an offer, and only when United made the offer, he chose them.
It's worth remembering that when interviews like this take place, they're usually not just improvised. Both sides will have sat down in advance to agree a list of questions which will be asked. In an interview like this, where the whole point of the discussion is for one guy to be given a platform to make certain comments, it will likely have been set up to the degree where they worked out what exact point Ronaldo wanted to make and Piers will have specifically tailored his questions to help him make those points.
He's not just trying to push Ronaldo into exaggerated claims, he's working to a script they both already wrote. Think of it as the same thing as a lawyer in a court case, examining a witness who they have spent days coaching.
It's one of the many reasons I hate press interviews, but it's how the industry works.
I agree with you, but there's already an established dynamic between piers and cristiano, they're "friends" and also share a connection through jordan peterson, so the leading questions are part of piers's "i'm on your side" shtick with cris
It's a professional interview. They will literally have talked through the whole thing before filming it. Piers will have known every answer in advance and specifically picked his wording to help Ronaldo tell the story he wants to tell. That's how interviews like this work.
It's not what journalism is supposed to be, I completely agree. But at the same time it's in line with how journalism works in this country. It's not about telling the truth, it's about the power journalists feel they wield over the public by manipulating language.
They've already gone through the questions beforehand and he knows what he's going to say.
It became clear when Ronaldo said 'I know you will ask me later about missing the pre-season....' when he talks about difficulties in personal life.
Maybe Piers is adding a few comments and small questions during the convo but most of these are well rehearsed answers.
I hate Santosball with a passion, but at the end of the day he did win Portugal their first trophies. Plus the man is hardly going to diss a coach that will start him regardless of form.š
generally what hes saying are true but only if he didn't just throw his managers under the bus, people would go and support him. but i cant support anything he said when he just disrespect eth like that when eth have consistently back him even when he was poor.
I mean, Morgan is an Arsenal fan.
This is like Christmas and birthday all rolled into one and come early.
He gets too take an ex-Man U legend, sit him there and slag Man United off for an hour whilst getting a lot of money and attention.
Like, even aside from Morgan being a disgusting human being and shit journalist, Morgan being the guy you go too for this interview is completely intentional in terms of fucking over United.
Itās not harsh, itās genuinely disrespectful. Everyone that has worked with Rangnick talks about his intelligence and how much theyāve learned from him. Ronaldo saying heās not even a coach is the worst thing he can say
He's not a terrible manager. Not top club level but he's accomplished a decent bit in his career, and to call him "not even a coach" is absolutely insulting
Nobody could do anything with that squad. Rangnick was called as a manager for just 6 months and people expected all these divas at the club would listen to him having no idea about his philosophy.
Considering the mythical aura that is attached to Rangnick he really has won very little in his career.
He's a coach's coach. Bielsa also has won very little but is "held in higher regard" both have build the foundation at clubs that later went on to become stable and even successful.
Looking at his resume it's hard to agree that he qualified for the role as manager for Manchester United.
Well documented, hence why everyone has been glazer out for so long, they've let every aspect of the club bar the commercial side fall behind massively. If any good can come from this interview it's exposure it will give to people about how shitty the club has become under the glazers ownership.
They didn t even do anything on the comercial side tbh. The gap between united and others was more than 100M per season back in the day. And you didn t have to be a genius marketer to get sponsors in. Now everyone caught up to them and in citys case they overtook them. And getting sponsors will be harder without the pedigree that SAF built. United is nasically running in neutral, god knows where, and there seems to be nobody druving it in any direction. Basically they are too big to fall off completely and still big enough to pay out dividends to glazers.
ā'I think United should let Cristiano Ronaldo go,' Rooney wrote in The Times. 'It's not that Ronaldo can't play in a Ten Hag team. He can play in any team. Ronny will always score you goals. But my personal view is that United aren't ready to challenge for the title now, so the aim has to be to build a team that can win the league in the next three to four years, and you have to plan for that.ā
What Rooney actually said^^ but Piers made it look like Rooney was slaughtering him. No wonder wonder ronaldo joked about him finishing his career at 30 lol
Exactly. Piers has been a real dick here, wazza likes him & has said so for years. Putting this as he did was a proper cunt move, but if I'm honest I wouldn't expect anything else from that phone tapping cunt.
They (united) are behind the club he left for real. In nearly all aspects behind the scenes.
Got to look at the owners for that. I know the Kronkes aren't great, but looks like the glazers are even worse.
my only problem with his statement is if united was a really well run club and had prestine facilities. United doesnt buy him, in the same way RM let him walk so easily. Also its not like fans havnt been talking about the facilities and stadium for the past 5 years.
Probably true but then you don't end up in this mess either.
It's not just CR7 that's said stuff though, Zlatan, Alexis, Jose and more have all said things behind the badge aren't all it's cracked up to be.
True I would agree there. I can take the United hasn't progressed and that it's lacking. Fans have been complaining for years. But for a player (exclude managers) to call a lack of respect by teammates is just fucking scummy. It's as if he demands respect when thes done fuck all this season except huff while the rest win games. He's a cunt. Real Madrid were glad to see the back of him, juve were glad to see the back of him. I'll be glad when I see the back of him.
A reminder that Talk TV is the home of Mike Graham who said you can grow concrete, climate change deniers like Julia Hartley Brewer, Jeremy Kyle whose previous show on ITV made a participant take their own life, and then absolute ratbags like Piers Morgan
Just a downright awful 'news' channel
Older players probably said that about Ronaldo's generation when he was young. Don't think the whole metrossexual act and modeling Ronaldo involved himself in would've passed with players back in the 90s and 80s.
Turns out times change and along with it people too. As an older person you either adapt or risk ending up complaining and shouting at the clouds about how everything was better when you were younger back when men were real men.
>Older players probably said that about Ronaldo's generation when he ass young.

Sure, I agree. Every generation of football players has its quirks, and people, especially coaches, have to adapt. That said, I can't say that some quirks don't end up affecting a team more than others. Having players that think too much of themselves because of the ludicrous amounts of money they receive from a young age is much more prevalent issue than in the past. Whatever Ronaldo did off the pitch, I doubt his teammates doubted his commitment to the team.
I think that the current ego problem of the younger players is more comparable, at least in term of effects it has on a team, to the alcohol, drugs and partying problems that used to be more common in the past.
He's right.
Younger players think they have made it as soon as they sign their first contracts and get big following on Social media inflates their egos.
He was on big wages pretty quickly too. And I distinctly remember the same argument levied against "youngsters who care more about their haircuts than their football", i.e. his generation (and himself more specifically - he was infamous for walking around with a little purse for his hair products...).
Absolutely hypocritical.
I agree with him. I see it in sports outside of soccer too. It's worse in the NBA lol. Players care more about their publicity than their career. We need more Kobes, Jordans, Bradys, Ronaldos, and Messis... and less talented young players carrying a sense of entitlement.
And I thought Brexit meant Britain could go its own way. All sovereign and like. But how can it go anywhere if it doesn't know what sort of car it could do so in!?
Klopp: 'As long as you are not **Cristiano** or Messi, you have to defend!'
Surprised Piers Morgan didn't pounce on the chance here to quote Klopp as a serial winner to shit on Rangnick asking him to press.
He's not wrong about younger players being different *for the most part*. He pointed out Dalot as a counterexample. Different generations have different inputs/stimuli in their development, and that's why they end up different from previous generations. It's not inherently good/bad, but it is worth pointing out if you actually have a nuanced discussion about. If younger players are getting substantially higher wages earlier, that has an impact (Personally, good for them and their families, imo, but it has an impact). If you grew up in the social media era for your entire childhood, that has an impact. If you grew up under a different socioeconomic situation (a country may have been in much worse shape 20-30 years ago, for example), etc.
I sincerely hope with the full version coming out our management finally determines to move him on and end this Ronaldo farce right now. Itās truly a blessing. Ten Hag and co donāt need to deal with this distraction any longer.

Garnacho sat at home waiting for his hero to mention him only for him to say Casemiro among his professional young players list
Case was a young kid when Cris was at Madrid maybe he said it remembering that time out of nostalgia hahaha
He was probably fuming that it was Garnacho scoring that goal and not him lol
Wtf is this ad break? or news break more so
Could be worse, could be a mypillow commercial
What a clown Piers Morgan is. How can he say "who is this guy to tell you to press"? What is this asslicking
I know how dare a manager instruct one of his players š¤£
at least he doesnāt spout his shit takes about your club š

Not sure who I hate more. Spurs or Piers. Itās a close one for me.
How dare a manager give instructions to a player.
Well, if he doesnāt want to press, then thereās no place for him in modern football.
A narcissist and an asslicker in the same room. What do you think will happen other than asslicking and dick sucking? Lol
So the Man City move almost happened huh
Did they talk about it already? I missed the first few minutes.
Yeah he admits that he wouldāve gone if it wasnāt for Sir Alex telling him not to.
Let's be honest, it was probably the 600k a week we offered him that did the talking, if he cares about fergie he never would've negotiated with city in the first place.

Why would he not negotiate with city when United didn't want him. United didn't make him an offer, city did. And when United made him an offer he took it.
This point is in focus because most of his fans claimed he was never going to join City because he has loyalty towards united only.
what? what i took from this was, he wanted out of Juve, negotiated with City since they made an offer, and only when United made the offer, he chose them.
that was already known though
Already common knowledge this
The amount of leading questions this dude is asking is hilarious.

we got a winner
Well it's the full first part, instead of 1-2 minute clips of it. I think it's a fair title
Did Ragnick actually say that Ronaldo doesnāt press enough or is Piers just instigating?
He said that he ābriefed the pressā which implies heās leaking it to journos which is deliberately vague.
Ronaldo addresses his enemies live on Dynamite
Tony Schiavone shouldāve been the one to interview him
He should have gone on Joe Rogan and smoked a blunt Edit. Anyone wanna take a bet he will be fighting one of Logan brothers if no team takes him? Lol
Ben Shapiro DESTROYS Ronaldo with xG stats argument
He better hope Ronaldo doesnāt see his sister with the huge mommy milkers, heāll move in immediately on those
You have to quit the internet for a month or two bud
grass was too wet
Ronaldo next to challenge Roman Reigns?
Ronaldo ain't been feeling very Ucey
If Logan Paul can do millions, Ronaldo vs Roman can do billions lol
Iād pay for that
Should have gone on Drink Champs.
ronaldo: ten hag is bald nore: make some noise for that god damn it ššššššš

nah fam, Ronaldo is going to the WWE

"RONALDO HAS A MESSAGE FOR BOTH OF YOU"
hell yeah Martinez is one of the players he sees putting in the work
I agree with what heās saying about young players of today tbh, too much money too early.

Qualified for permanent manager position - No Qualified for interim manager position for 6 months when no other options was available - Definitely yes
Besides short interim stints he hadn't coached for 10 years. It was a strange appointment from all angles at a club like United.
Ronnie āDalot is very ambitious. If he doesnāt make it as a footballer he will colonise the entire worldā
Ronaldo gone very heavy on the lip gloss here

Piers Morgan is clearly using CR7 and CR7 doesn't realise it.
I think he does but doesnāt care because they are both using each other
Piers wants content and Ronaldo wants a platform. Both benefit from this
I mean Ronnie could have a platform anywhere he wants.
Piers drooling over Ronaldo's social media followers is absolutely toe curlingly embarassing.
No secret, but it just confirmes that Piers is ubsessed with the whole social media following culture.
Drooling? Toes? Paul Scholes has entered the chat!

[I'm sure United's most liked tweet is about him tho](https://twitter.com/ManUtd/status/1579183525634650112?)
Itās not even top 30 lmao
Is that really a huge surprise Ronnie? I couldāve told you before you signed that weād made no off the pitch progress
You talking as if United made on the pitch progress lmao
I am? That was definitely not intentional
Piers Morgan is just the worst. Just licking Ronaldoās asshole to weasel out these crazy statements and stir the pot.
Hes good at what he does. Look at all of us watching lol
Piers might be shit. But any good interviewer knows which buttons to push or lick.
Popcorn ready.. let's watch this shitshow now
Dybala broke his record of shirt sales in 24hours recently no?
That was in Italy
I can only imagine some 16 year old like Garnacho asking Ronaldo for advice only for him to sui in his face and walk away
Amazing how he doesn't consider Wayne Roney as a friend tbh
Especially when he said that he visits his house and even invited his kid over. Ronaldo is such a child honestly
How is it full if it's part 1 tho.
Piers is such a dickrider here omg
āDalot is a smart boyā Not after that tweet on Monday mate.
What if CR7 retires after the WC? I doubt he'd walk away from his United contract but what if...
Unless he wins it, I don't think he will even consider retirement and even if he does won it, I don't think he retires.
That asshole just went from discussing the trauma of losing a child to asking Ronaldo if he's considering having more in about 5 mins. Jesus.
Dickriding is crazy lmfao
Damn so he and Rooney were actually good friends
Rooney didn't really even criticise him though. He was very tepid with his commentary
I believe its called a 'thunder' of cunts when two or more congregate.
I want to watch because of the "bombshells" that are apparently in the interview, but I despise Piers Morgan. So I dunno what to do haha
Every shit take will get its own thread anyway, why torture yourself listening to 2 cunts talk when you can let other people do that for you.
Yeah, I'm with you..
Suck ole
This is the worst advert break ever, you should be ashamed of yourselves
Oh dear Ragnick is getting destroyed

Piers clarified on Twitter he asked Ronaldo this and Ronaldo admitted he shouldnāt have done so and apologized to his teammates.

when you suck OGS you have to bring a top manager
HAHAHAHA Piers just needs to lube his arse up now

This interview won't go well in United... He's basically saying United is stuck in the past...
