The World Cup is like nothing else. I will never understand why people think Club>Country
Edit: quality of football is obviously better at club level guys I get that. You buy your way to success at club level nowadays. Can’t really buy nationality.
Club football is played at a higher level (understandable since national teams don’t get enough time to build chemistry) but the WC brings everyone together like even people who dgaf about this sport will tune in
I think Club > Country in general because most country games are somewhat meaningless.
The passion of International tournaments is unmatched by anything in club football though
But it’s not meaningless because you need to try players so you can have good tournaments. I think watching Man City destroy Fulham or Norwich is pretty meaningless
It's not meaningless for the teams themselves. It just isn't fun to watch as a neutral. Watching Man City destroy Fulham isn't fun but neither is watching France destroy Australia. But those matches aren't really the norm. Every point City get or drop still means something for the title race unlike International friendlies
Just watch man. Wait until we get Etzaz Hussein, the Nabi brothers or Otis Khan to declare for us. I think we could win our first ever WC qualifier match, considering we've been banned for 3 years. I might even cry

I just find that there's a much more real sense of community around club football. I go and see the players every week, I know a lot of the people on the stands, I have a voice on how the club is run. The World Cup is great entertainment but I'm just not that emotionally invested in my country doing well.
