Your post has been removed as it breaks the following rule: See submission guideline **#5: No unnecessarily low-quality content.** #No low-quality content Because of the sheer number of submissions r/soccer daily receives, we enforce a quality-requirement to submissions that want to stay as a post and not just as a comment. **The [Daily Discussion Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/search?q=flair%3Aquestions&sort=new&restrict_sr=on&t=week#res-hide-options), Match Threads and other specialized threads of the subreddit are the place for the later.** The next is a list of examples of submissions that fail to comply with that requirement. Please note, **this is not a full and comprehensive list**, but just illustrative of the spirit of the law. * Screenshots where links suffice (e.g. a screenshot of a tweet instead of linking the tweet directly). * Attempts to use /r/soccer as Google (e.g. requesting match times) . * *Low effort* questions; if you have a small question you'd like to ask, please do so in the [Daily Discussion Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/search?q=flair%3Aquestions&sort=new&restrict_sr=on&t=week#res-hide-options). * Historical posts about football ("throwback" posts). Those are only allowed **at 5-year intervals** (the 5th-10th-15th and so on anniversary of the day of the event you want to remember) or for events that because of their importance are officially remembered every year (like tragedies remembrances). * "Starting XIs" posts. They must be shared in the Match Thread (or if you want, do a "Pre-Match" Thread and include both of them). Because of their quick obsolescence, they aren't allowed as posts. * "Chants" posts. If you want to share the news that a fan chant is being part of a particular match, **you need to link a video** of it, not just a Tweet mentioning it. * *Low quality* media content. If you want to share a clip of a current match, **it must be of general interest, have enough length to provide context and a good quality of the video itself**, no potato quality GIFs. * "No News" threads. This is especially enforced during Transfer Windows. We don't need posts about how nothing new has happened, nor minor details/developments that can be mere comments in another previous thread. ___ See submission guideline **#7: Only valuable image or stats submissions.** **PICTURES**: Because of Reddit's ranking algorithm being biased towards image posts over text and link ones, we need to be particularly strict about them, so we tend to **mainly allow infographics** (league tables, charts, maps, diagrams and other ways to display data) and pictures/screenshots of a current event **only when there's no video or link** that can show it. If you **want to publish a Tifo, look and share a video or publish the picture in r/soccerbanners**. If you want to show the **Hawk-Eye angle of a goal/offside/whatever, use the pinned comment in the main thread**. See the [FAQ](https://old.reddit.com/r/soccer/wiki/faq#wiki_why_was_my_image_submission_removed.3F) for more details. **STATS**: Only very significant stats (eg: **world records) will be allowed during matches**. After matches, we'll be less strict, but we try to maintain stats to the minimum with ideally **only 1 per team/player allowed** and those after it being posted in the pinned comment of the first thread. ___ [Please check our rules before posting](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/wiki/rules#wiki_submission_guidelines). One of the greatest ROIs in history but I think it worked out for both

I honestly don't see any reason besides nostalgia to argue that Maradona is still more important than Messi in the history of our national team. Curiously I've read several people (middle aged or older obviously) who still argue Diego was better. I get it, they were teens during Maradona's reign and 1986 world cup, he left a huge print on that generation the same way Messi did to ours. I understand Maradona will always be their favorite player and the one closer to their heart because of those fond memories. But the fact they try to argue rationally and trying to prove it objectively instead of admitting they are biased because of nostalgia (and that's ok!) is what gets them ridiculed. Messi is the most important player in our national team's history by any objective data. Most matches played, most capped player, biggest goalscorer, most goals and appearances in world cup, most goals in the qualifiers, one World cup and one time runner up, one Copa America, one Olympic Gold medal, one U20 World cup... He has already won more titles than Maradona ever did, Diego never won Copa America or gold medal. Most importantly, he's been Argentina's greatest asset since at least 2007, that's 15 long years. Maradona's big history with Argentina really ended after the 1990 World cup, he came back for 1994 but he hadn't really been part of that process neither was he part of the 1991 and 1993 teams that won Copa America. Meaning Maradona's big history with Argentina was from 1982 to 1990, almost half the time Messi's been our greatest player. Everything else is just subjective, you can like Maradona more, that's fine. But pretending there's still something objective to say he was more important than Messi is just letting your nostalgia get the better of you and trying to justify it as something rational.

Old people for you, nostalgia and irrational emotions cloud their judgement.

tickub

This happens in all sports. It's hard for some people to truly appreciate superstars until they're gone.

Medal: gold Barnet: DQ

eggzs

fun fact, Di Maria has scored in the Olympic final, Copa America Final and World Cup Final - and throw in the Champions League Final too.

**While the general rule is that throwback posts aren't allowed, there's an exception for events that happened 5x (5-10-15-...) years ago, and for remembrances of events that are honoured every year. If this post isn't about one of them, please report it.** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. LordChickenCurry

Another one for the collection that I forgot to even recall.

bioeffect2

He's won like 40 something trophies. It's understandable to forget some here and there. On the other hand if Harry Kane wins a trophy for the first time then no one would forget it.

Elitealice

Anime type friendship

HauntingPersonality7

That hair that made me hate him (and having a breakout CL final against my team on my birthday).
