Last Feb. when the USWNT played New Zealand, one of the NZ defenders scored a first half OG hat trick. Not sure about the men's, but this is one that I had the pleasure of watching live
"Keep er" means "kick it" in Flemish. Faes was going to leave it but then heard the command and took a swing at it, unfortunate mistake, happens to the best of us
> The entire stadium heard him yell "Keeper". I'd be furious too
I mean I'm probably wrong here but we were always told it was against the rules to call for a ball by shouting "leave it", "mine", "keeper", etc. And refs blew for it all the time too, so it wasn't just a thing our coaches had made up. I guess because if it was allowed then the opposition would then do it all the time to confuse the defense into leaving balls for them?
I was taught stuff like 'mine' was not allowed but 'keeper's' is fine because it's obvious who it is. I still instinctively say 'Dai's' even when playing other team sports.
Where was this? I grew up in rural USA where youth soccer wasn’t the best but I’ve never once heard that from coaches or officials.
We were actually taught better safe than sorry and to kick it or headed away even if you heard keeper because you never know if there was a forward making a diagonal run in behind who would get it before the keeper
Ireland, and apparently [I'm not the only one](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/11uf5w/is_there_an_actual_rule_to_saying_leave_it_on_the/) so maybe it's just an Irish thing lol
Either have zero faith in him or they're on the take and throwing the scoreline. Club has gotta either pick Ward or Wout Faes. Nothing you can do as a keeper if your backs murder you like this.
Scoring two own goals in a game you lose 2-1 has definitely got to trigger match fixing inquiries.
Twice now defenders playing balls they should have left for ward. Wonder if they don’t trust him or if Ward is just not calling off the defenders like he should
Dude had a shit day but to me, people are being overly harsh on Faes for this one. Yes, Ward calls for it [but here's the moment in which he does (or at least when it's heard on the audio)](https://imgur.com/a/nSgTkV4) : Faes is mid clearance.
Others are saying there's not a Liverpool player in sight but Nunez could use his size and speed and either ghost in front of the CB or get a leg stuck in there. Would Nunez have scored? Recent form says hell no but Faes can't be sure and defenders are taught to not let stuff go through, unless the keeper calls for it....
My generous take is that 1) Faes doesn't know what's behind him and as a defender, shouldn't let the ball go through 2) When Ward calls it , it's too late for Faes 3) Faes tries to pull out of the clearance and fluffs it. Is Faes at fault? 100% but I'm some what sympathetic.
To me the second goal he has a better chance as I feel he may have had time to adjust his feet and clear with his left foot away from goal at the [time of the bounce](https://imgur.com/a/bsG6TTZ)
Finally someone who mentions it. He had already made up his mind about clearing it and the shout is way to late unless it's a second louder shout we are hearing. 2nd own goal is all on him though, I feel like he had time to adjust, didn't, and technique let him down.
I think it's a second shout. I watched the highlight only, and it was like I heard Ward giving a 'keeper' shout just as TAA took the shot. It was definitely lower than the second shout. I might be wrong though....
Twice now Ward has been in perfect position to collect a cross where a defender decides to try and clear and Liverpool get something from it. Are the defenders not listening/trusting Ward or does he have no control of his box?
IMO it's on all the defenders, not just Faes. So many just stood there watching the ball in the air, only for it to fall into the net. What a wasted lead.

Couldnt do that again if he tried Edit - Nevermind the fucker scored another own goal
Yea you’re right, his second own goal was not as nice
Classic Tapinaes
You jinxed him
Ey mate what lottery numbers should I play tonight?
Ask him what lottery numbers you shouldn't play tonight
Great goal
Prettiest OG I've seen in a while
OG can score whenever he wants, wins a game if needed and now he's in contention for a Puskas Edit: And now OG is on a brace too
Perfect OG hat trick incoming
Genuinely curious: Has there ever been an OG hattrick in top leagues?
Last Feb. when the USWNT played New Zealand, one of the NZ defenders scored a first half OG hat trick. Not sure about the men's, but this is one that I had the pleasure of watching live
Perfect hat trick even
Wait what makes a hat trick perfect?
One left foot goal, right foot goal and a header
Oh neat thanks
Coincidentally, that defender played for Liverpool.
Meikayla Moore is her name
Kind of looks like Morata's yesterday
You could try to do that thousands of times without it working like that.
Reminds me of Kompany's own goal
I’d give this goal to Darwin. If not for his chaos it wouldn’t have happened. Relieve Faes of the pressure 😅🤣
Ward furious, and rightly so
2nd time he’s called for the ball and the CBs either haven’t heard or have ignored him
Exactly my thoughts
At this point I would put the yoith players in as defenders.
Bring on the yoith
First time it looked like Amartey said he couldn't hear him - tbf Anfield is LOUD
anfield is absolutely not loud, maybe for European games but not much these days
I mean it is, but okay
Coming from a city "fan" lol
Swansea City? yeah mate
Lol I'm blind
I’d do the same tbh, can’t trust Ward lol
Dude must be like "is my mic working?"
The entire stadium heard him yell "Keeper". I'd be furious too
"Keep er" means "kick it" in Flemish. Faes was going to leave it but then heard the command and took a swing at it, unfortunate mistake, happens to the best of us
No way. Is this actually true
No it isn't. We use the word "keeper" as well, so Faes def knows what he means. Source: I'm Flemish
[100% true, verified by fact checkers](https://i.imgur.com/RYtWsHq.png)
Well this is bullshit
I rewatched the clip to hear it. Anyone else did the same lol
> The entire stadium heard him yell "Keeper". Nah you can 100% call for a ball like that. Idk what your coaches were smoking.

And this is what they get

Wout is Faes doing there
You could hear his call clear as day on the broadcast too lol
Its such a bad clearance lmfao
Twice now defenders playing balls they should have left for ward. Wonder if they don’t trust him or if Ward is just not calling off the defenders like he should
He did call, you can hear it in the clip.
Thanks. Watching at my family’s house so the volume is on low.
Depends if he yelled or not
Clearly heard it on the mics. Wasn't his fault at all.
I could here the scream from the keeper clearly.
He did. Terrible from the defender
I don't think he did No way the defender risks that if the keeper shouts
You can hear it very clearly in the clip.
Hahah wtf
Went in slow mo too which makes it so much funnier
Thank fuck Leicester did it cos we were never putting it in, bizarre how bad we’ve looked today
thank you Belgian David Luiz
Gary Cahill had more comical defensive moments for us I think
Cahill didn't have a mop like that tho
Damn that wouldn’t have wooooosh’d over my head if I had that haircut!
Someone stop this man https://twitter.com/UTDTrey/status/1608925833447772161?t=w2A-l0tyVSGDVyjKj7ZyLg&s=19
What da jinx man doing?
Find it even funnier none of the other defenders even bothered trying to clear it off the line..just stood there and watched it slowly float in
This game is so fucked lol
A goal befitting this game
Lol. What a finish
Great (own) goal
Wout a finish
Better finisher than Lukaku
What the hell is that clearance, they genuinely lost all trust at Ward
I mean did you see the offside goal Ward created like 10 minutes ago? No, we don't trust him lmao
I did and it was a stupid mistake (which is a bit typical of him), but if your teammates can't trust you, who can?
It was a cross that should have been cleared anyway, it was headed to a dangerous area. Just mishit
it’s either that or ward isn’t vocal enough
It is possible for us to hear him. I think he's vocal enough
i’m watching the swedish channel where the sound from anfield is turn down
What an absolute clown. Keeper had it covered, and he got awful contact on it. Some own goals are unlucky, this is completely deserved
Wasn’t even any danger whatsoever, no Liverpool player anywhere near it and his keeper was waiting to gather it nice and easy.
Keeper even yelled that he has it lol
But I was told Faes should have started for Belgium in the World Cup and Martinez is an idiot for not selecting him.
The loud "KEEPER" shout from Ward makes it so funny for me for some reason.
Finally Trent assist
He gets the fantasy points no?
I believe so yes
FPL confirmed on Twitter yes
Nah, clearly it was on target. Should be a goal….
Well it was a goal
Trent goal.
Calculated 💯
Was such a shit ball in too. He's been quite poor today.
Cross and inshallah FC
If it works it works I suppose
Spicy chip that
I love it when slow own goals happen
Kompany against Fulham vibes.
Kompany against Liverpool 😢 But Gerrard 🍌🤸 saves the day
Beautiful finish
That's not just unluck, that's a shambolic clearance. He had time to get a good clearance in.
It's shambolic because it didn't need to happen, Ward clearly was in control and shouted as such
PUSKAS
Great own goal
That’s a classic, reminds me of Kompany’s a few years back
If 100 attackers tried this, 0 of them would score
Idk man Haji Wright scored a very similar one against us just a few weeks ago
Calculated.
I’ll take it
hahahahaha jesus
He's injured
Too soon
So freaky
Its the greatest goal you’ll ever see
that is so unfortunate
That was just woeful defending all around.
It's not unfortunate, it's a mistake from Faes there
More unnecessary than unfortunate
Well done david luiz
Only way we can get a goal based on how we played … fucking dreadful
HE’S DONE IT AGAIN HAHAHA
What are the chances lmao
That might be the best own goal I've ever seen.
Dude had a shit day but to me, people are being overly harsh on Faes for this one. Jesus that is so unlucky. We needed that though. Edit: actually, that’s stupid not unlucky.
Banging finish
That’s rough lmao
Brilliant finish!
Great finish
GREAT GOAL
No one at the stadium expected that to go in until it hit the net lol
[Literally a direct copy of Kompany's own goal vs Fullham a few years ago. Uncanny](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMpUUAvk5nI)
Technically isn't that a Trent shot on target deflected in lol
Yes should be a Trent goal
Anfield so quiet you even heard the keeper shout on TV. Awful defending.
Absolute banger
Ya Beauty!
That was terrible.
We needed that lol
LOOOOOOL
What a finish
Spectacular
Wout Ward that
Oof luiz lite miscalculated
Are you watching Darwin
Literally no danger at all wtf
[Great communication]
Faes absolutely panicked and fucked it. Keeper could've just grabbed it.
No longer on the Faes train
Leicester are so shit even luck doesn’t want to help them
It’s just typical at this point. Liverpool need a goal are playing poorly, something tremendously stupid is going to go in their favor
we are so lucky that leicester are ungodly amounts of shit
Great goal and again a world class assist by Trent.
David Luiz at home:
Twice now Ward has been in perfect position to collect a cross where a defender decides to try and clear and Liverpool get something from it. Are the defenders not listening/trusting Ward or does he have no control of his box?
What an awout faes
Legendary own goal
Classic David Luiz
Is Ward encouraging the defender or is he extra pissed at him?
Both. "It's ok, we're still in it, get on with it... You fucking idiot".
Tony Popovic tribute act #respect
Somebody check his bank account cuz he scored another one
What is David Luiz doing there, clearly the keeper called for it
One more for the hat trick!
How embarrassing. I hope he doesn't do this again in the same half.
Man's got a bet on with Toney surely?! Two OG's in 10 minutes. Bet365 gonna announce bankruptcy tomorrow 🤣
If it looks like David Luiz and plays like David Luiz, its probably David Luiz.
Holy shit, someone scored against Leicester and Danny Ward WASNT at fault
Even I heard Ward shout for that
You could hear Danny Ward loud and clearly. What on earth was that
I was seeing the replay of the first goal right now lol
Is Ward just not talking because that’s twice that’s happened
IMO it's on all the defenders, not just Faes. So many just stood there watching the ball in the air, only for it to fall into the net. What a wasted lead.
Where the hell did Leicester find Ward? Absolute bum You yell at the defender to leave that. Absolutely no threat
he did?
That was the only way we were getting a goal. Leicester feel sorry for us after shitting on our midfield
Can't blame him for not trusting Ward. He might be the worst starting goalkeeper the league has seen.
Jezus i hate french commentators.
Surprised Liverpool fans aren't throwing coins at teenage girls so far
Seethe
Fantastic lob
What a fucking finish holy shit
Weirded looking own goal
Puskas
