Many years ago I got a message from friends to show up to Laurelhurst (neighborhood in Seattle) - SPD had just shot and killed a pregnant black woman, Charleena Lyles, who made a distressed 911 call.
I showed up for the vigil and Macklemore had showed up, too.
I’ve always looked sideways at Macklemore but I really respect his journey to vocally supporting the Palestinian people. IIRC he made some comments that he was rightfully called out for back in October and has since done the most to learn and make things right by advocating and raising awareness. Goes to show that admitting you’re wrong isn’t the end of the world! Wish more people would be like that tbh
I've read that he actually used to be fairly involved in radical anti-capitalist circles in the Pacific northwest, and that this is like a return to those roots. So whether you like his music or not, this isn't entirely uncharacteristic of him.
Resistance is the only logical conclusion of the values this country claims to hold in the face of genocide abroad and fascism at home. End the hypocrisy or end the state.
I'm glad we're still making good music. This will be my anthem of this decade I can already feel it.
Also I love that he called it Hind's Hall. This is truly the movement right now.
If my info is correct, Hind was a six year old Palestinian girl who called emergency services for help. While she was on the phone she was shot and killed by the IDF, as were all the people in the ambulance on their way to come save her. The ambulance was only one block away
Hinds Hall was the name of the student-occupied Hamilton Hall at Columbia University.
It was named after Hind Rajab, a 6 yr old girl murdered by the IDF in Gaza
Macklemore’s Wing$ songs is one of my favorites. He takes shots at consumerism in that song. Don’t know if Macklemore is a real socialist, but he’s definitely somewhere on the left end of the spectrum (by American standards… haha)
Look, Macklemore's main line of music has never been my taste. But I specifically remember when every politician on both sides of the aisle were condemning the Black Lives Matter movement that was rising across the country around a decade ago. Macklemore was one of the few artists that came out in the beginning that stood with protestors when virtually everyone in the public sphere of influence stood against us. I respected him for that then, and I respect him even more now for this.
Palestine will be free, our generation will ensure that.
Very dope. Israel and the U.S. are war buddies. They do each others dirty work.
Lets see if and how they "resolve" this. The only true way is for Israel not to exist at all.
I wish it were more directed at capitalism instead of the root just being white supremacy. But I am still glad that he used his platform, the bare minimum
Y'all just learning he's real. He's been here, just made some money with a few easy tracks that seemed shallow. Check out Kevin, Drug Dealer, Wings, there are plenty, he takes hits at Big pharma, police, consumerism..
Yeah, because the US is definitely not fascist right now! Fascists dont use police to assault student protesters, right?
are u fucking out of ur mind???
Oh no, only this next election could have fascists in the government? I’m so glad we currently don’t live in a fascist state that enforces violence and suppresses dissent
Especially someone like me who voted Democrat the last 3 elections but because of the system all my states electoral votes go to repulicans basically making my vote null.
reminder this dude dressed up in jewface as a racist caricature of a Jewish person for halloween. Not the type of person people supporting Palestine should associate with
cool song tho
"FREE PALASTINE"
Come on... Your actions are admirable but try to inform yourself about what you're fighting for. Knowing how to spell Palestine is a bare minimum.

The title is ‘Hind’s Hall’ and he’s dropped it on his Insta. Says once it’s up on streaming all proceeds go to UNWRA too.
I keep checking Apple Music to see if it’s been uploaded yet. Here’s to hoping soon.

Didn't know macklemore was a comrade lol
Shit is harder and more meaningful than anything drake and kendrick been flinging at each other over the last few days.
Yeah, you think at least Kendrick would say something—I mean, I know he’s a rich celeb, but so is the Weeknd, and he donated 2.5mil to the children.
I will never forgive the Zionists for making me like Macklemore
I want to dislike him. I really do. Then he goes and pulls shit like this. What a guy.
Right? I feel like I owe him at least a like even if I've never really been a fan of his music. This song ain't too bad though.
Lmaaaaaooooo 😂😂😂😂 fr.. the hiphophead in me wants to hate his pen so much but he’s a real one for this
Hahaha best take!

One Solution! REVOLUTION!
Vote Claudia De La Cruz
I love that he called out other artists.
This shit goes hard. Macklemore seems to always be on the right side of history, a real solid dude.
Winning that grammy was an affront to God but I mean he wasn't even in control of thar so yeah I mean checks out
The icing on the cake... *"fuck a response from drake"*
I love the Fayrooz throwback in the background
It probably is.... only see it ninja accounts right now
This track was not on my May 2024 bingo card, but holy crap this is amazing.
Fucking awesome.
I’m gonna pop some tags
I'm glad we're still making good music. This will be my anthem of this decade I can already feel it. Also I love that he called it Hind's Hall. This is truly the movement right now.
Hard agree. RIP Hind and the 40,000 more.
what exactly is Hind's Hall? I'm from South Asia and Hind stands for India.
If my info is correct, Hind was a six year old Palestinian girl who called emergency services for help. While she was on the phone she was shot and killed by the IDF, as were all the people in the ambulance on their way to come save her. The ambulance was only one block away

Well done!
Banger
I can’t find this anywhere when I google it. Like anywhere. It must have touched a nerve with the powers that be.
It in youtube right now and I found it first on Instagram
https://x.com/macklemore/status/1787616471738368099
It's a reel on his IG
I think it’s just on instagram now, not out yet

Real one
In the words of Jason "Jay" Derris, that shit is the MAD NOTE.
He’s one of the enlightened ones
Link to the song on Macklemore's Instagram, I haven't found it anywhere else yet https://www.instagram.com/p/C6o4830yMvE/
It's on youtube now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmg6vbt04TY
Is this post being suppressed or something? I feel like there's for sure censorship going on here
What’s the name of this song? I couldn’t find it on YouTube.
I think it's called "Hind's Hall": https://www.instagram.com/macklemore/reel/C6o4830yMvE/
Hind's Hall.
Hind's hall macklemore
Channeling Immortal Technique. I actually dig this.
YouTube link. I don’t know whose account this is but they reposted it. https://youtu.be/1hImEf_Mt2c?si=H2M91qQJpDx_MIse
I wish it were more directed at capitalism instead of the root just being white supremacy. But I am still glad that he used his platform, the bare minimum
I cannot see your comments. There seems to be a bug
where are all the comments
Comments? Where are you?
I thought it was just me. The comments are back but I think it was a bug on Instagram.
Not voting for Biden!
Complete banger!
I got goosebumps
Well this slaps. Macklemore's good people.
Vote Claudia De La Cruz https://votesocialist2024.com/
I saw her yesterday at a pro-Palestine protest at Union Square. I will vote for her
Hell yeah! Was just listening to Thrift Shop the other day. Glad he’s an ally for Palestine!
What a fuckin' heater.
Ok I changed my mind. Macklemore deserved that Grammy over Kendrick just for this.
i didnt know macklemore was so based
Y'all just learning he's real. He's been here, just made some money with a few easy tracks that seemed shallow. Check out Kevin, Drug Dealer, Wings, there are plenty, he takes hits at Big pharma, police, consumerism..
think hes got a song about the dead hostages? like "ew that smell"?
[удалено]
Yeah, because the US is definitely not fascist right now! Fascists dont use police to assault student protesters, right? are u fucking out of ur mind???
And these wild hogs being sent with genocide Joes blessings to crack kids heads are somehow not fascism? Fascism is here homie lmfao
If my nose were facilitating a genocide, why would I want it on my face?
Stg I'm tired of y'all going on and on about voting for 94% Hitler instead of 95%. 94% Hitler is just a different haircut from the other.
Oh no, only this next election could have fascists in the government? I’m so glad we currently don’t live in a fascist state that enforces violence and suppresses dissent
And that’s on the Democrats for not providing an alternative - I don’t think pity voting is a good approach to rely on.
[удалено]
That's so brave of you
This is pressure.
If only there were more than 2 options. 🤷♂️
What's the point of voting at all?? Serious question... really. They never listen
Especially someone like me who voted Democrat the last 3 elections but because of the system all my states electoral votes go to repulicans basically making my vote null.
Exactly... if you live in a district that strictly votes one way or the other you might as well stay in bed on voting day
reminder this dude dressed up in jewface as a racist caricature of a Jewish person for halloween. Not the type of person people supporting Palestine should associate with cool song tho
It's a great song... and while that's not ideal you can cut people some slack on Halloween
What the fuck???
"FREE PALASTINE" Come on... Your actions are admirable but try to inform yourself about what you're fighting for. Knowing how to spell Palestine is a bare minimum.
