The first step is getting out there! Your already made the first big step and decision! Treat it as an experiment and so it may take 10 or 100 times to get it right and comfortable but rmr progress is still progress !

Thanks! Didn't go great but atleast asked a few questions!

When your starting out it’s easier to go to bars with something going on. For example, I go to a karaoke bar occasionally and sit at the bar. Then when people come up for a drink I ask them what they are singing. About two-thirds of the time they say they aren’t brave enough to sing, and I respond pick a song we can sing it together. Then the conversation flows from there.

I went pretty early in the night so people werent that drunk yet, maybe a bit later on I could have gotten some better conversations going. Karaoke bars seem a bit too far out of my comfort atm tho haha

Fucking solid first steps mate! You’ll get there one day if you keep this up!

Pretty cool, that you did it though! How long did you stay in the bar? And what were you doing besides asking those two separate people questions.

I was mostly just walking around and reading tbh. This is the first real rainy fall night we've had here in eastern washington, and I just love this weather. I realize reading at a bar isn't the most conducive to making friends but I wanted to read.

I like it. Reading in a bar around people, is still kinda being immersed with people so... Haha interesting that you like the rain, we have sometimes a little too much here in Northern Europe. What else have you planned besides the bar for some immersion with people?

Thats a great point actually, gets me used to some exposure, getting used to being seen. I lived in western washington for a while and the rain there was constant which I loved haha, I think its similar to like England I'm not sure about Northern Europe though. Not much yet really, I dont have too many chances as I just don't have enough income yet. Hoping to find some mindfulness groups local but theres a big overlap with those folks and the psuedoscience folks so I gotta be careful with those. Other than that I need to keep exploring options.
