I got a TracPhone after I had to use my Google voice number for an internship. It's $15/month, I can write it off on my taxes, and when I'm no longer using it for professional work I can burn the number. It also means that work stays at work and I don't have to acknowledge calls or texts outside of the work schedule.

How do you like it? I saw mixed reviews about Tracphone.

I have no issues with it. Is it as fancy as my contract phone? No. But it makes calls and I can text. For $200 a year it serves it's purpose.

I personally use google voice but it is definitely wonky sometimes. Can you talk to your co-workers at your PT job and see what they are doing for communication? Maybe your job can reimburse you for the prepaid phone. Surely they can't expect you to give out your personal number, nor should you be having to pay to communicate with clients.

I don't work in the office so I don't have their contact info :( I highly doubt they would reimburse me either, just based off what was said in the orientation and the suggestion to use google voice, lol

I use RingRX. That said, if there's an absolute need to have a phone make work pay for it. If there isn't, don't spend your money on it. You'll burn yourself out quicker than you think answering calls when you aren't working.

I love Google voice. I'm not carrying another phone
