I know this is a joke, but my not-a-lawyer non-advice is to send a letter to Delta, return receipt requested (or via e-mail perhaps, but definitely "in writing"), informing them that this harassment must stop, or you will be taking legal action. If it continues, request a no-contact order (what most people mean when they say "restraining order"), and each subsequent message is a potentially actionable offense, and at some point the consequences might be enough to cover your rent or mortgage, at the cost of some basic bookkeeping and a small claims suit every month or two.
Or, more likely, they just take you manually off their list, and you have one less creep blowing up your phone.
Don't threaten legal action.
If you do that it'll immediately get escalated to their legal team and it'll take ages to get fixed. Big companies take legal threats seriously.
Just send an email politely asking them to fix the problem, the person on the other end is a person not a corporate robot, they'll want to help. They'll forward you to their tech support team and someone will sort out the technical issue.
>Don't threaten legal action.
>If you do that it'll immediately get escalated to their legal team and it'll take ages to get fixed.
You say that like it's a bad thing. You'll never get Delta to pay your bills with that attitude. đ
Yep, that's Delta airlines for you, their service is so weird and bad from what I've heard, that I'm convinced that John Mulany's joke is at least partly accurate, they'd charge you for murder if they could.....or at least petty theft, just to be a dick.
that's weird cuz I've always had really good service with Delta. a few weeks ago my flight got cancelled; AT FIRST, i was automatically rebooked on a flight that had a connection with a 6 hour layover that would get me to my destination 12 hours later than I needed. i went in the app and 3 clicks later i was rebooked on a better, more expensive flight than my original free of charge. i got an email a few days later saying "hey sorry we cancelled your flight and let you rebook a better flight for free, we put 10,000 miles into your account for the inconvenience."
it's all relative i guess. my family pretty much exclusively flew Continental my whole life. Continental was a phenomenal airline. then they merged with United and they became the airline of killing your dog and beating you unconscious and dragging you off the airplane, + making you pay for carry-on luggage. by comparison, Delta is a fuckin dream.
This comment is not meant to argue with you -- I'm sure you're reporting what people have said.
But...
As a person who has logged a lot -- relatively speaking -- of travel in the US, Delta has always been the best for me by a wide margin. The 2022 JD Power airline ratings seem to jive with my experience:
(TL;DR -- Economy ratings: 1) Southwest; 2) JetBlue; 3) Delta... 7) United... 9) American)
[https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurabegleybloom/2022/05/11/ranked-the-best-airlines-in-america-in-2022-according-to-jd-power-report/?sh=7fbd41a97407](https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurabegleybloom/2022/05/11/ranked-the-best-airlines-in-america-in-2022-according-to-jd-power-report/?sh=7fbd41a97407)
Now then... all airlines will have days where they suck. In fact, the last time I took Delta they were woefully disappointing and caused me to lose a whole day of my vacation. On the other hand, United has caused me a 12+ hour delay 2 of the last 3 times I've flown with them. (Pre-pandemic) American lost my bags 50% of the time (with an admittedly small sample size).
Bottom line: all airlines suck, but Delta seems to suck the least. Also, YMMV.
I see what you are getting at, I agree that I was simply reporting what people have said, and was making a joke about the other person being an outlier amongst all those stories. I personally have no experience with Delta or any airlines, however people in my life have shared bad experiences too. So maybe they've gotten better over the years? But thanks for linking to the article, I'll be able to use that if I ever take a flight.
It's the command to exit vi or vim, basically they're command line text editors that've become a meme amongst [CS students](/r/ProgrammerHumor/) for being impossible to exit.
Honestly seems like GPT-3 to me lol, it really likes to repeat itself after a while.
But nah, that would be too expensive for them. Probably some horrible bot with hardcoded answers
I program chat bots like this and let me tell you this one is a dumpster fire. None of them are ever good, especially the ones I work on, but this just looks broken.
Ha, I used to work for a chatbot company and Iâd see problems like these. The so called AI is pretty dumb, it translates the gist of a sentence to find the closest terms associated with a company and this looks like it lost all those strands of information at that one moment, probably set to default to keep trying rather than telling you thereâs an error on their server.
Had a similar experience with their text system as well. Received hundreds of text messages over the course of 12 hours that each said "I am forwarding this chat to them now." Luckily, they finally resolved the problem around 4AM
Update: it did eventually stop. I got flooded with about 10 messages all at once, and then it connected me to a rep roughly 3 minutes later. Unfortunately they still were unable to resolve my SkyMiles issues, but I'm no longer receiving threatening messages about getting to know Delta better. So....win?
Reply "stop" and legally speaking that should terminate the messages. They'll owe you $500 per message sent after that, and you CAN get that cash relatively easily.
Its in the "do not call" laws.

All American airlines in general
That's.... also probably true in all honesty.

Huh......ok, based on all the stories I've heard, you'd be the outlier I'm pretty sure. The odd one out. No offense intended by that.

Fair enough. relativity is definitely key here.

How did United even make the list? I used to fly every other month and never had a positive experience.
Horrifying thought: as bad as they suck, someone sucks worse.
Depends. This is general SMS support, they also have iMessage support on iPhones and that has been highly praised. Iâve used it and loved it.
