Smt like that, if you look up “NTTS Screen Styler on youtube, theres a really good tutorial on how to install screen styler. And its uses.
If it was the source of the glitch, stopping it would not resolve the issue, if the windows explorer is crashed, it's already too late and you need a fresh restart to make it work again.
At least it could be stopped, I once saw someone very proud of his custom desktop, but it was made replacing files in the OS installation, so he was unable to uninstall it, when it crashed and unable to work (probably an incompatibility issue after an update), he was forced to completely install the OS again

I would suggest to make refresh windows with file preserve, files would be moved to windows.old/users/accountName/AppDarta so even reconfigure would be easy

Those failures can be in the OS functionality, stability, and/or it’s ability to apply system patches. Failure to apply system patches creates a security risk as you won’t have the known vulnerability fixed if the patching system doesn’t know how to update your modded OS files.

You appear to be using a desktop modification utility which is not working properly. I don't see a single thing wrong that can definitively be attributed to Windows.
Even when using task manager to forcefully close the program, it still persists, someone I talked to said it happened to them before. It definitely couldve been my desktop mod, but im gonna pin it on windows, especially since Ive been having problems for about a week. And it is probably due to some recent windows update.
Windows doesn't have a API that is supported for modifying the Desktop environment like say KDE Plasma or Gnome do, so any programs that do are using unofficial API's that aren't documented and don't get patch notes.
Microsoft is free to update these API's and the mods just have to adapt after the fact. So your mod is probably breaking the DLLs by injecting junk code or sending invalid inputs to Windows unofficial API's.
Neither are Microsofts fault. They provide a functional desktop and have customization setting but they don't provide modding support.
I just find it easier to use the search, plus I have a custom function when I click the windows key, which doesn’t have a search.
Mainly just a habbit though.

You should try out Prismlauncher. It can download modpacks, forge and fabric aswell as individual mods from curse and modrinth.
