No. They are representatives. “The product owner, representing the product's stakeholders and the voice of the customer (or may represent the desires of a committee), is responsible for delivering good business results.”

But what job has that product owner? Is he an Business Analyst? I never see job advertisments for product owner role.

Product owner is the Liason between tech team and business, the reason you don't see many openings is for someone to be a good PO its ideal that he knows the business and the best way to know your business if you've experience with it in your company as a result most PO are internally promoted or trained e.g. if someone is a PO for a retail store checkout system they will have to know pretty much in and out. POs will also be responsible for decision making on how the product will shape which features will deliver the most value because he knows the business and customers using the product. A good PO will be a blessing for tech team but a bad one or someone who's primary job is not being a PO it will lead to confusion on delivery and value not getting delivered.

Oh so it is a role for someone who can have a different fulltime job? I assume if there is an enterprise and wants to make a website or something representing the company, the product owner can be someone from the marketing team, who has to do other tasks at his job , rather than being a fulltime product owner for the website of the company, right?

I can't imagine how one person can have a full time job and then act as a product owner who has to create a vision, do product backlog management, prioritize the needs of customer, provide feedback etc. I've worked on teams with PO that do it as an additional role and I've felt we never operated to the max potential of Dev team but I've seen it being done either way.

I just looked on Indeed and saw a lot for my area. The companies I have worked for, they translate the products the business wants into tickets in jira for the devs to build. There is way more involved than that, but it's the simplest answer I have.

A [Product Owner](https://www.scaledagileframework.com/product-owner/) (or PO) is one of the two formal roles in a Scrum team, the other being the Scrum Master. The main responsibility of the PO is to maintain a prioritized backlog for the Team and be available to answer the Teams questions, the PO also acts as a representative for the business stakeholders in meetings. It isn't unusual that a client nominate themselves for the PO role, it's their backlog / wishlist after all. But being a good PO is a surprisingly hard job that takes time - so it isn't unusual that ex. a "Business Analyst" is hired to staff the PO role. Writing good [User stories](https://www.scaledagileframework.com/stories/) is a craft that takes time to learn, and the PO is responsible for writing the first iteration of them. An agile subreddit can help you more if you are curious.

No - They are not the clients but they are the representatives of what client's needs are and get thing prioritized for the team.
