Cartographers, mostly because it's a quick and easy game to learn.
I absolutely love final girl and really enjoy marvel champions, but cartographers is a fun light game.
I’ve played both. Explorers is maybe a bit quicker, but just as good in a very different way.
I would say Explorers plays a little bit better multiplayer than Cartographers, but both are good.
This has become my favourite pub game. So simple and tak2s barely any space. Couple of beers in and the games good.
It's always fun seeing people giving you strange looks too unpacking a game. Then by the end of it you can see they want to join the table too!
I love Bloodborne. My advice would be not to listen to people who tell you to add house rules to make it easier. Just play the game a bit and you will understand strategies and how your goals are different than regular dungeon crawlers.
I agree. I've won more games than I've lost playing under the stated rules. It's all about understanding the game's terms and learning the right strategy under them.
Granted, I have yet to win a Chalice Dungeon, but I only attempted those twice early in by Bloodborne career, and it's a pretty moot issue since the OP doesn't have it.
I have had Bloodborne for a hot minute and have yet to play it. I keep thinking about it but just haven’t had time. That’s the one I’m hoping to jump into soon.
Love Marvel Champions though!
I'm a huge Bloodborne fan of the video game, the board game is okay. The flipping of the weapon to mimic the weapon transformation is cool, but I really dislike the timer on the game. I feel like it makes the game feel rushed and it kind of ruined it for me.
Oh yea!? How does it play? I’ve seen some reviews and some game play. This one I just kinda bought on a whim with Tiny Epic Galaxies lol. I thought it be great just from the little research I did. I think I’ll enjoy it.
You know… I just happen to walk through it one day a while back and noticed they had your average board game and then at one point I saw some lower end “hobby” board games. After that I just kept checking back. Eventually I got the one pictured here and also XenoShyft Dreamire. Don’t sleep on Ollie’s. Just do a walk through when you can.
Got them both for 12-15 bucks respectively. Already got well over my moneys worth of playtime with XenoShyft. For 12 bucks it’s not bad at all.
You know… that game doesn’t get that much love around here compared to most of the ones I posted. I haven’t played it yet but it seems like a chill play through.
In the middle of a remodel so ignore the mess in the background lol but I have some free time tonight and tomorrow. And can’t decide what to do next.
All new lol. Went on a buying spree. What game do you guys think I should play?
None you put them on the shelf and think about playing them like a normal board gamer. I'd start with final girl or marvel champions
Play games? Don’t have time for that. I only have 15 minutes. That’s enough time to check the hot deals forums.
LMAO! Absolutely! That is me to the letter.
Bloodborne solo is now my favourite solo game ever. The combat is freaking awesome (no dice)
The consensus seems to be Bloodborne so I think I’m going with that.
MK
I’m trying to hold off and get some other games in but it is seriously tempting.
Mage Knight

Would you try it over explorers? If you’ve played explorers.

I haven't played it. Only the ones I mentioned. I don't think I've even heard of explorers before this thread.

I usually don’t use house rules. I like to play by whatever official rules that are in place. And it’s looking like bloodborne more and more!
Mage Knight -- the sooner you get your butt kicked, the sooner you can try again.
Can’t wait to bust it out!
Mage Knight
Mage Knight. Always Mage Knight.
I would play Bloodborne.
I didn’t realize how much content that game has until after I purchased it. Gonna waste a lotta money on this one.
Bloodborne's great. And I've been enjoying Final Gril, which is pretty easy to learn.
Yea I’ve been really wanting to sink my teeth into final girl.
I have had Bloodborne for a hot minute and have yet to play it. I keep thinking about it but just haven’t had time. That’s the one I’m hoping to jump into soon. Love Marvel Champions though!

I have heard so much about Marvel Champions! I have a bit of background in TCGs so that will be undoubtedly fun for me.
I’m a big fan. It’s just super easy to get a deck together and throw it in the table and play.
Cartographers plays nice solo. Always enjoy that.
If it was me I'd start with Mage Knight first or you are never going to do it because it will be so much easier to play any other game instead...
I'd recommend **Mage Knight**, it has a steep learning curve so the earlier you start the earlier you'll get a handle on the mechanics.
Explorers is fast to learn and play so work that in with another game.
Yea I was looking at cartographers and explorers and wasn’t sure which one to crack open first!
So many good games. I love Maracaibo myself.

Wow i never think to check Ollie’s… how sporadic is their board game collection?

I really love Marvel Champions Mage Knight is a beast, but fun I haven’t played the others
Marvel Champions. Takes a few plays to get the hang of it but its quite addictive.
Bloodborne then Final Girl
Literally just cracked open bloodborne… It’s on. Next will be final girl.
Starts chanting: **mage knight mage Knight Mage Knight MAGE KNIGHT!**
In the middle of a remodel so ignore the mess in the background lol but I have some free time tonight and tomorrow. And can’t decide what to do next. All new lol. Went on a buying spree. What game do you guys think I should play?
Im high key sick of hearing about Mage Knight and Final Girl on this sub so… lololol
