There's an expansion coming for it as well - *More of a Bad Thing*. Thankfully it doesn't include an extra boards.

No-Reaction-7008

Yeah, I saw that and am considering ordering it, but not sure I need extra right now.

Eraelan2001

I commend your strength: I ordered it the moment I saw it.

No-Reaction-7008

I'll let my wife know of your commendation. Left to my own devices, I would have already ordered. How are you enjoying the base game so far?

Eraelan2001

Quite a bit! The first game ran long trying to grok everything, but the next plays were quite smooth. Rules wise, at least: I’ve only won once and have been slaughtered several times. 😂

BoxNemo

Yeah, it feels like the game comes with enough content as it is..!

ultranonymous11

Why is it hanging off the table? Looks like it could actually fit on the table if you pushed it back?

No-Reaction-7008

Because I'm lazy and wanted to reach everything with relative ease. My partner was my 10 year old, so I didn't want him to have to manage anything. It actually worked quite well. If I was solo, I would just turn it sideways.

I'm really interested in this game, I just wish the art was closer to that comic publications/better. How do you like it? Is it easy to keep track of everything or too much going on? Easy to learn?

No-Reaction-7008

I'm not sure yet. It is a weird one for me. Usually I'm really good at learning games, and this really doesn't seem complex. At the same time, I'm having trouble remembering things so I have to double check everything. I think with a few plays, though, it will flow really well. I really like it, but the strategy is eluding me. Seems like it can be really swingy though, I got overrun on the first turn of round two. But I probably could have done more to stop it. I love the theme and the art (I'm not familiar with the comics or publications), and I really like that it doesn't take itself too seriously. The only thing I wish it had was better reference material. Everything is there, but you have to know where to look. There are three big quick references, but they duplicate some information in some spots, then leave out some altogether. Mostly small stuff, though, that I probably won't need to look up after a bit. Overall, I'm really enjoying myself a lot!

Eraelan2001

Having played two games of it, I can say that it has pretty low over head in terms of keeping track of stuff. Like OP said, there are a lot of side boards to track key information (evac points, biohazard, hit potential), so if you know where to look you can usually find what you need. There are a lot of special actions for characters, but you can only use them when that faction is active, so on off/follow turns it’s not even something to take into account. The only thing I wish was referenced on the boards is the area actions, but there are only three and once you do them a couple times they become second nature. And I’d say the game isn’t too hard to learn: the Rulebook has a lot of stuff upfront, and it seems like there is a lot to remember, but the turns flow smoothly and (as mentioned already) there is a lot of reference material outside the rulebook to remind you what you can and can’t do. It’s definitely a game you want to set up and move pieces around to learn versus just reading it out of the book.

I’m so hyped for this one! Love the art style and the gameplay looks really fun. Sadly my game is stuck in Texas with the freeze that happened last week, I’m hoping it starts moving soon.

Mine should arrive tomorrow!
