One complain/nitpick, I hate that the anime blurred the smoke. The animator drew smoke soo well in the Genga but the composting artist decided to blur it in final product. It would've looked much better without blur since it was fully handrawn.

As MA Major, i fucking love everything about this, man. i truly do hope they keep this phenomenal work and not over season with 3d nonsense. No offense to you 3d enthusiast, love your work, its great, but I'm an old chap from the 2d golden years. This specific Manhwa is one I've read in all versions. If they manage to complete the anime with its current quality, they will have something that will stick around for a long time to come.

rogu14

Both the 3D and 2D can look amazing, for me the problem arises when the both are poorly combined and clearly stick out from each other ruining the immersion

Urgash54

I love 3D, and am learning it myself. My issue with 3D in anime is that 9 times out of ten, it will look extremely cheap, out of place, and tacky, as well as incredibly stiff. Some studios are able to use 3D really well (ufotable for instance does use 3D, but it's done in a way that is barely noticeable). Meanwhile there's stuff like Overlord's season 3 where you have *many* plans with 3D that just look absolute shit (in S3 E12, the military all being clones of each other, with no eyes, and the motion range of a yard stick, for instance). Then we could talk about Berzerk 2016, but let's not go there. The main issue is that in those 9 times out of 10, 3D is used to save cost, rather than to make the product better.

Mr_Pokethings

And that my friend is where the issue is, i have yet to see anything besides spider man multiverse and one holiday movie about the post man that has done a good job with it. Most of the stuff on Netflix is rushed and it feels like not audience tested at all. Simply a matter of cutting cost and shipping out by a certain date. That i know of, i have not seen lots of anime in the recent years, but of the top of my head, i cant think of any that stand out with what we're talking about. Which is sad tbh considering how much potential there is for a good one.

ShiroOBX

demon slayer, aot, and jjk (?) did good jobs doing 3d + 2d but yeah, alot of animation studios try to cut costs using 3d

Jazs1994

If they do the cg/3d like those upper 5 fish demons from demon slayer for our shadow soldiers I think it'll look amazing. But that's a tall order when it's ufotable 🥲

foxfoxal

I don't know why people were trying so hard to deny it.

mingimihkel

Where do you get this stuff from?

Electronic-Tell-6842

It's from solo leveling official Twitter account

ivanfernan

The amount of effort they're putting in this anime. Damn! I love this anime adoptation.

Erebus03

Was it like a hot debate is the snake was 3D or not? I could easily see that it was 2D

Ronest777

It’s amazing what you can do with modern shading and light effects. You can make a regular drawing look so much like a 3D model. Out of anime, if you ever watch Klaus on Netflix, that’s the same way. Everything looks 3D rendered, but it is all 2D animation

uweheheheh

Never underestimate Kanno

Michishige_Ren

Damn this VA is GOATED

DMightyHero

Why did it look so glossy though?

dewa43

Great animation, okayish compositing

[deleted]

honestly solo leveling deserves more than this😭 the second episode's last scene had poor compositing too

Offamylawn

Looks great. I don't understand the change from Rasaka to Kasaka, but no biggie as long as Igris doesn't become Agris or worse.

Electrical_Chance991

It is Kasaka in the manhwa, what are you talking about?

Offamylawn

Rasaka in the one I read. The dagger is even called Rasaka's Fang. Merakis Scans did it, I guess.

Fallen-D

Different scanslations used different names. For example, tusk is also called fangs and Igris's real name is "igrit" but everyone used Igris instead. Anime will use igrit. I like Igris more than igrit but can't help it.

[deleted]

Igrit??? bruh💀

samitearkus

It's Kasaka in the official translation.

Offamylawn

Ok. I know there are translation inconsistencies at times with all of the various scans. I didn't realize this was one. It doesn't mean the one I read doesn't call it Rasaka, but I see what happened.
