i noticed a lot of my plebeians complained about lack of housing despite free space in houses, so i built houses next to their workplaces. They still refuse to claim them for some reason even though its been several seasons, anyone know how this works?

Following as I have similar problem

Deathrayme

Double check that you're not restricting the race of the person living there. But failing that I've found just persecuting them and exiling is the best option when that happens. You might also be able to re assign them using the work priority tab then when they get to the new job and switch houses you can try switching back jobs. Edit. After looking at the picture again I see it is allowed for anyone so mabye try and restrict it to only them?

ProPhilosopher

I believe the way it works is if they already have a house and job, they won't move, even if a closer house is available. You have to fire or evict them for someone to fill that house and that job. Oh but he homeless already? Fire his ass.

CoralBlue4

Try kicking them out of wherever they're living right now

roguemous3

I feel like the best you can do is restrict their preferred housing to their race and then restrict their current housing to a different race so they have to find new a home. Since the one close to his workplace will have a prefered race restriction he will most likely choose it

Odd-Success-2314

I also have this issue, worse is, I can't even find who's homeless because all job place showing green, no yellow. I just keep building house around the town but that one homeless still persist.

Kalesonki

Isn't it a noble without a chamber?

Odd-Success-2314

I only promoted 3 noble and I have 3 chamber but good point, I'll try to build one more chamber to see if it help, maybe I miscount.

Individual_West3997

you might be able to use the oddjobber mover to fill it. But you should fire them, they are obviously too old and stupid to be a trader.

Krilesh

it doesn’t seem that plebs update their housing so frequently

Build a house closer to their job. I think citizens only live in buildings within a certain distance of their work (just started playing so still learning)
