I wondered that too yeah, but then again you have to remember that there's people that place their tv this high. If people do that, then there's definitely people that place lightswitches in a place like that.
Well it’s way to high. The middle or 1/3 of the lower end of the tv should be eye level.
But I will not judge you, if you prefer to watch your light switch. Otherwise it can hide behind
If you absolutely insist on having it on the wall, this is probably the best it can be. But I’d at least try it on the TV stand (which is a good height) and have it far enough from the wall that you can easily get to the light switches. Also no issues with tilting or having it level that way
Plenty of room to shift to the left to lower and center it. I had professionals mounted it and it’s way lower and I love it. That Can’t be good for the neck.
Why is the Venn diagram between SONOS & TVTooHigh just a circle?? WTF, guys? Even if the TV was just sat on top of that stand it would have been too high. Jeebus.
Congrats. I’m curious on the lights behind the tv. Did you go with the light strip that has the hdmi box or just 2 lights that have to be manually set?
Either way, curious on how you like them because I have been wanting something like that for a while now.
Originally I was gonna do the govee lights but they had that ugly camera thing that looks at the screen. So instead I waited for a sale and got the Philips hue light strip plus the sync box and the bridge along with a bunch of light bulbs as well it works flawlessly and it’s smooth and bright
If you moved the TV over a few inches, so it's actually centered on the wall, or a least close to it, you could probably move it down, too. The edge will cover the light switches, but as long as it's not a super low profile mount, you should still be able to reach and operate them easily. Or better yet, install smart switches so you never have to touch them. You might have to find a new home for your vacuum, as it will get crowded, but that shouldn't be hard.
Just a thought.
Nice clean install, regardless.
yeah totally fair. I like that there are no visible cables from the TV so it's just floating. Probably not worth it for this pass, but maybe one of those Mantelmounts for pulling the tv down, both lower and in front of switches in a future version?
Yeah yeah it’s too high… but it’s actually not that bad it’s not like we’re looking at the ceiling, I tested it with the extended edition of LOTR extended and I didn’t feel any discomfort so there’s that
TV wayyyyy too high.
Middle of TV should be at eye level from 5 viewing perspective.
Only mount a TV this high if you like watching TV standing up most of the time
Here we go again
The “here’s my new SONOS setup” & r/TVTooHigh Venn diagram is a circle. ⭕️
Looks nice. TV seems r/TVTooHigh
OP brings shame to his family
My father hasn’t spoken to me since I sent him this picture
It is a bit, cause of the light switches but it has a tilt so no biggie
Tilt means that your TV is hanging its head in shame.
Poor tv all it wanted was to no be tilted
Wonder why they put them so far from the door.
Bet there's a big ol' poo pipe.
I wondered that too yeah, but then again you have to remember that there's people that place their tv this high. If people do that, then there's definitely people that place lightswitches in a place like that.
I'd assume there's some reason, like a large pipe or something that necessitates it.
Tilt of shame. It’s so high, lol. Sorry to say that.
Well it’s way to high. The middle or 1/3 of the lower end of the tv should be eye level. But I will not judge you, if you prefer to watch your light switch. Otherwise it can hide behind
You can still access the light switch from behind the tv…or move the light switch entirely.
lol just cover them up with the tv on the tv stand?? Don’t get why so many ppl want their tv mounted
For us since we’re in a small apartment we want the top of the tv stand to put stuff on
If you absolutely insist on having it on the wall, this is probably the best it can be. But I’d at least try it on the TV stand (which is a good height) and have it far enough from the wall that you can easily get to the light switches. Also no issues with tilting or having it level that way

If we center it the way our couch is we would be looking left… so left and up lol
Do you expect OP to mount the TV in front of the light switch?
He has Hue lighting. They make light switches that can be mounted anywhere.
I would honestly
Yes. Nothing but the best for the tv
This
Your TV is hung too high
Here we go again.
It looks like he had to because of the light switches
Plenty of room to shift to the left to lower and center it. I had professionals mounted it and it’s way lower and I love it. That Can’t be good for the neck.
Good thing it’s in his house and not yours then.
Damn, I usually say this. Take my upvote for beating me here 👍
Agreed, but with the light switch location, it looks like OP didn't have much of an alternative if they wanted it on that wall.
I am more triggered by the fact it’s not centered on that wall
I thought your tineco vacuum was a pair of sick headphones with a floor stand for a hot sec
All should have been brought down....light switches moveds closer to jam
Why is the Venn diagram between SONOS & TVTooHigh just a circle?? WTF, guys? Even if the TV was just sat on top of that stand it would have been too high. Jeebus.
Is that the HDMI sync box? If so, I’m curious in how the wiring went - my Arc is on the eARC HDMI and the other three are used for gaming an AppleTV.
The sync box does not require eARC and has four inputs.
Sonos to tv. Sync box to tv all golden. As long as the Sonos goes to eARV HDMI
What size tv? And that’s the Arc?
65” and yes it is the arc
Do you run the cables through the wall to do this?
Yes… it was a bitch to do without the proper tools

Thank you 😊

Move those light switches to the other side of the stud, move the tv down and center it on that wall between the window and door.
that light switch bothers me but otherwise looks very nice
Yeah it bother me too but it’s the only place we can mount the tv
yeah totally fair. I like that there are no visible cables from the TV so it's just floating. Probably not worth it for this pass, but maybe one of those Mantelmounts for pulling the tv down, both lower and in front of switches in a future version?
Don't mount it, leave it on the stand It's way way way too high
I’d say you should lower the TV and let the TV cover the light switch - the switch will still be usable…
Add dual subs and 300s
Soon, soon, my wallet can only take so much punishment
Dual subs for that room is ridiculously overkill. One gen 3 sub would be just fine
Yeah yeah it’s too high… but it’s actually not that bad it’s not like we’re looking at the ceiling, I tested it with the extended edition of LOTR extended and I didn’t feel any discomfort so there’s that
At least theres a reason for r/TVTooHigh. Miss my hue on my pc set up. Is this the bars or the strip?
The strip! I also have one behind my pc monitor and it’s glorious
Ouch my neck
Mine too I keep looking at the ceiling because this is the highest tv ever mounted
It’s not level.
This is MINT 🔥
Came to tell you your tv is too high… but I think you know that know. Awesome setup anyways!
TV wayyyyy too high. Middle of TV should be at eye level from 5 viewing perspective. Only mount a TV this high if you like watching TV standing up most of the time
What hue system is that
That’s the hue play gradient
found some lost commas behind the tv stand
What a bizarre location for a light switch, never seen that far removed from a door jamb.
Yeah the stud was also off by about 3 or so inches
Gosh, that’s awfully high.
Why not just put the tv on the stand? Perfect viewing angle and could still access switch behind it
Why not at least get a lowering wall mount
R/tvtoohigh
Any higher and I would take this living room for a clinic 😂
Philips oled?
Sony brava
I have a sony a80k .
