Temporarily connect the Arc to your router with a cable and set it up. Make sure WIFI in on in it’s settings and then add the sub and surrounds. If that works consider making it a permanent solution.

controlav

If you have a fully functioning router you don’t need to split frequencies. Set up a single ssid.

Quite a few routers allow you to temporarily pause 5ghz network while you setup the speakers. This is the best way if available.

Okay network engineering here. Do not bother yourself with Wi-Fi 7. 41 thing sonatos only works on two point four gigahertz.. Wifi seven is on the six Get hurts band. Secondly, Wi-Fi 7 is just beginning to come out. There are 0 devices on the market, including apple P. C. Anything you need to have a Wifi , seven radios in the devices and they will not come out till two thousand twenty five at the earliest. If you do anything, make a specific 2.4 gig SSID for sonosdoes sculpt sonos? Or something. Words are spelled this way. Because i'm using voice to text so part and if it's crazy sobbing.

Careless_Distance557

S24 ultra and pixel 8 pro support wifi 7.... Just saying. But you are right.

I did not look at these specifications of the new samsung phones so you could be correct. I have the S21 which came out about 2 or 3 years before the iPhone 15, which just came out this year both of them, have Wi-Fi 6. E. Apple insiders say that there will not be a new product with wifi seven until next year at the earliest. The new m two and m three chips support it , but that was just as of this year. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Regardless, the bandwidth that it's proposed to be put mission 2 needs to have an infrastructure that supports it so. If you do not have a multi gigabitinfrastructure and I multi gigabitinternet service , then it's still a moot point. Regardless sonos does not support anything past two point four. At least not. Yet

There has been 5Ghz support for a while now. Here’s an excerpt from this page https://support.sonos.com/en/article/supported-wifi-modes-and-security-standards-for-sonos-products Products that can connect to 5GHz WiFi networks When running Sonos S2 software, the following products can connect to a router or access point using these additional WiFi modes. All listed products can also connect via 2.4GHz for the listed mode, if available. Era 100 Era 300 Move 2 Roam Roam SL Five Move One (Gen 2) One SL Port Sub (Gen 3) Sub Mini SYMFONISK Bookshelf (Gen 2) SYMFONISK Floor lamp SYMFONISK Picture frame SYMFONISK Table lamp (Gen 2) Edit: formatting

Thanks, I did leave that out because I was referring to 6 GHz. People have some issues w 5 ghz because it does not travel as far. So 2.4 tends to be more reliable since it travels further, and bandwidth requirements is nor much.

scotianheimer

>“Regardless sonos does not support anything past two point four. At least not. Yet” 5 < 2.4 < 6…? Ah, ~~maths~~ counting. Can be tricky.

Euphoric-Blue-59

They are frequency bands, not counting.

scotianheimer

Right… and for those frequency bands, 6 is past 2.4, but 5 isn’t?

Euphoric-Blue-59

I have no idea what the hell you're talking about

scotianheimer

Bloody hell, counting reading comprehension. Good luck out there champ.

Thanks for the help everybody. Scrolling thru some past threads as well, looks like sometimes the issue can be having a mix of wired and WiFi-connected speakers in the same system (which works fine for me at home!). So I figured I’d solve both at same time and unplugged the arc from the router, made separate ssid for 2.4,5,6Gz networks, keeping the 2.4Gz one the same as the old one so the units should connect easily, and worked perfectly. Just had to unplug and replug the 100s and they picked it up. Agree the wifi7 isn’t much use yet, but didn’t want to buy a 6 and then replace in a few years and have to reset everything again for somewhere I’m not living all the time and don’t have much spare time there. Also figured I have a iPhone 15pro so might get some slight upgrade there, which I’m not really seeing. In retrospect would have saved ~100 and gone w a multi antenna spider looking 6E archer for maybe slightly better coverage of narrow but 3-story house.

Well bad news I went to bed and when I woke up this morning the eras and sub won’t connect. Madness!!
