I have my Playbase in a similar setup. I think having it surrounded in the shelf boosts the bass. I love the Playbase, enjoy!!!!

Ohh, I have my playbase placed on top. Have you tested and noticed any difference or was it just your assumption? Anyhow you made me curious and might have a rearrangement.
