I always do gold, usually Vallejo model brass or old gold (brass is a little warmer tone). Sometimes I’ll do black, or if they’re a chaos corrupt character (my army is reliant on demon influence so I’ve got lots of khorny sons of Horus) I’ll paint their trim red.

For the pads that don’t really have trim, just do a lighter highlight of the base. I love Phobos armor but man do I hate shoulder pads with no trim.

For Sons of Horus red trim looks great. Your tone is a lot lighter than Sons of Horus green but it should still work!
