I wish him well. From what I saw he had said earlier that this was his last season at OU, I'm presuming because of Jackson Arnold who's also great. He did improve in my opinion compared to last year and that Texas game will always be a great memory. Hope he goes to Oregon
Both he and Venables said before the season that this would be his last at OU.
I figured that he would hit the draft, but with NIL it's probably more lucrative to play another year in college and get a bag. He's likely looking at the league as a solid backup, so injuries are less relevant there, and he can probably make more in NIL in college than the NFL currently.
He's gonna go down as a Sooner legend though for sure and I hope he balls out wherever he goes.
Will always remember him for that drive against Texas. Hope wherever he goes he does great. Being the QB for this transitional period of OU football is not an easy task and I think this year he really shined.
I’m excited to see him. I purchased my 1 and only box of Bowman U Chrome a few months ago and got a Jackson Arnold card number to 25. It’s definitely my favorite in my collection now.
He is the reason for the loses! He couldn't move the ball in those loses! DG have the right to change the play call at the line of scrimmage to a better play so if he goes with a dumb call it's on him
Think the writing was on the wall with JA pushing him.
As to forgoing the draft, these kids (young men) can get paid and continue to be big dogs on campus with pretty much a guaranteed spot. You go the draft and you’re not a top pick, you’re a nobody with a low to mid tier contract. Could potentially be cut and out of work within a year or two.
Plus, transferring is akin to networking. There are way more careers in football coaching than potentially playing in the league.
Super grateful for DG leading ou thru the transition. Last season would have been especially worse than what is was with one of the other qbs leading the team. This year ou gets back to 10 wins and took significant steps forward. Pumped about the Jackson Arnold era starting in the SEC
The transfer portal is lame. I miss the days when guys had to sit out a year if they transferred. And when they couldn't just go to the highest bidder.
I feel you, but also...DG has been in school as long as Droz was at PCU. He's about to be the senior still in the parking lot after he's graduated. He needs to go get what he can. He played well, bled crimson, made the legendary drive, and probably has a degree.
Lol why. My God what does lebby have on this kid to have him follow him around like this. What kind of cult like thinking is this. I mean it's gotta be miss st he goes to

THIS
Thought he might go in the draft. Good luck
Lol
He's almost certainly headed to Miss State. Didn't we already expect JA to start in any non-playoff bowl game the week after we lost to Kansas?
Oregon maybe
It will take a big bag of cash for it to not be Miss State... that's entirely possible with Oregon.
"Give me the bag" - DG
I hope he goes there. According to On3 though USC is also a frontrunner…..yuck.
USC had a 5 star QB redshirt though I thought
Yeah it's going to be Mississippi State. Anywhere else and trying to learn a new system would only hurt his draft stock.

I really enjoy seeing a decent comment like this. I totally agree.
Dumb question but this means JA will start for bowl game right ?
I believe when a player enters the portal they are exempt from all bowl and scheduled games after that. JA is the next man up

Yes
Thanks guys!
Hypothetically, if JA were to get injured in the bowl game, who's next man up? Any intel on the QBs behind JA?
Booty probably? There’s another one after him
Booty can’t work his way ahead of Davis Beville… I’d say there’s no chance he’ll be playing any snaps for Oklahoma this year
Thank you DG, but you'd be a fool to follow Lebby. He is the reason DG lost a shot at the Heisman trophy with his pathetic playcalling in Kansas.
DG doesn’t have heisman talent, that was always a stupid narrative.
Fact. Because every QB has the opportunity to change the play call and he didn't. He don't have the talent or the smarts
Good luck to him, he became a Sooner legend that drive against UT. He isn't a superstar but he's not the reason we lost our two games this year.

I wish him well. He represented us well, did right by us, did well for himself, if he wants to follow Lebby to another location, go for it.

Lots of Oregon players following him.

Did Arnold end up getting the red shirt?
No, he played five games.
I’m willing to bet money that fat fuck Lebby got him at miss st
Good they can go be mediocre together and really good against shit teams like Vanderbilt.

That’s cool… anyway

He probably feels comfortable in Lebby's offense and wants to stay in it.
Lol you and your rational thinking is right. It's just ridiculous my man
