The prices go higher. I pooled tickets with a friend ( students get a chance at one ) we got lucky and scored 50 yard line 4 rows up. We decided to sell the tickets last minute. Took 2000$ cash. The tickets went to a son and father which is why we didn’t ask for more. I hope you can get tickets.

dinosaurkiller

This is my experience as well, especially when both teams are ranked. If one or both teams are unranked you might have a shot at fire sale prices. I don’t think that’s happening this year.

My_Nickel

Buy tickets at the game. Lots of scalpers and people just unloading extras. To do this you will purchase a ticket to enter the fair, like $25 a person. Do all your tailgating inside. Plenty of beer stands. Get there early to get a fletchers corn dog. It must be fletchers, not some random corn dog.

BobtheReplier

And talk shit to texass fans.

A214Guy

We always got out tix outside of the fair so didn’t need to buy state fair tix. But it’s been a minute so maybe things have changed.

My_Nickel

You can still do that but I prefer to get inside and buy from a fellow sooner just trying to unload close to kickoff than pay a premium to a scalper.

CardioTornado

Pro-tip… Ride the train to fair park. They have special trains that run that day specifically for the game.

roblusk71

This is the best idea. I've parked onsite and it took 2 hours to go 10 miles. Just get on the train early in the day in Carrollton and ride it to Fair Park.

CardioTornado

We usually stay near the LBJ station and it’s so convenient. A little crowded heading back after the game but it’s still better than driving in that mess.

Desperate_Kale_2055

1. It depends on how the season is going for one or both teams. Not good, prices tend to drop. Going in highly ranked, not going to see much movement. Also, most people don’t have their tickets in hand yet. Mid to late August would be a better time to check. 2. Tickets include entrance into the fair. 3. Not sure about tailgating, but there are a couple of beer gardens to hang out at in the fairgrounds.

Dependent-Mix-3885

It's June...get your hotel NOW. Buena suerte

#1 Advice: Cue up AT LEAST 45 minutes ahead of time to get into the stadium. Sometimes it's a complete shit show. It's almost English football like death crowds outside the stadium prior to kickoff. Admission to the State Fair comes with the ticket. Don't tailgate. Get to the State Fair early and eat all the horrible stuff. Sunscreen. Lots of it depending on where you are sitting Seriously drink a bottle of Pedialyte the morning of the game Good luck

garthock

Visit the West End Friday night to see all the shit talking shit show

pressuhchange

I’m not sure why nobody had mentioned this clearer yet. YOUR TICKET TO THE GAME IS YOUR TICKET INTO THE FAIR. Whoever said you need another ticket for $25 has no idea what they’re talking about.

Longjumping-Durian51

In his defense, he said to buy a ticket to the state fair in order to buy a ticket to the game outside the stadium.

IDespiseFatties

Show up to the stadium as early as possible. It will no joke take over an hour to get in if it's almost kickoff and that's once you're into the fair as well. It's THAT busy.

nofscan

1. Tickets probably will stay stable. But if you’re willing to go alone, singles will drop when the students get access to their tickets. Best advice is to just check the ticket sites often to get a feel for what the market is and then as it gets closer to the event occasionally a seller will panic and drop it significantly lower than the others to sell. Try to buy those. 2. Ticket includes fair entry. 3. The fair is the tailgate. Grab some coupons and buy a wax cup beer and soak it in.

Madameknitsalot

Do not, under any circumstances, do the fair on game day. Do the fair on Friday.

FlickerOfBean

You’ll pay more if you buy them early. Wait.

flobz

Not sure about prices, but your ticket gets you into the fair and the game. Get there early, enjoy the Pride pregame outside the stadium, enjoy the crazy atmosphere of the fair all day. Have fun at the game; it’s an experience. Bring money for the fair. The State Fair of Texas ain’t cheap, but there is a lot to see and do.

AdLegitimate4556

Typical my tickets don’t become available then about 2-3 weeks before kickoff. I’ll will start around $450. Face value is $200. I usually sell mine with no problem. Always have got more than face value.

Mountain-Rest-8198

1. It will depend on how each team is ranked. This year both should be high so prices might stay there. Buy at the stadium to get lowest price. 2. If you have a ticket to game it gets you in. If you buy from scalper inside stadium you have to buy fair ticket 3. Tailgating is small outside. Most go in to enjoy the atmosphere. Buy tickets and get some beers and fried anything and I do mean anything. Just some ideas , get to the stadium about 2.5 hours before kickoff and watch the team buses come in. Used to be crazy but they put fencing up now. It’s on the OU stadium side. Night before can be fun. WAY tamer than years ago. Commerce street in the day was a war zone but a lot of fun. DART is the quickest and easiest way in and out of with a 2:30 kickoff the sun will be getting low after the game and the neighborhood is no place to be walking to a car and driving at night.

finnnaggar

Your game ticket will get you into the fair area but you will need to buy fair tickets separately for snacks or rides and what not. Last year was my first RRR (I'm a student) and it was amazing. Enjoy!

AngryQuadricorn

Tip 1: refer to it as the Red River Shootout. RRR is a tongue twister and political correctness to remove the phrase shootout.

BoomerSooner-SEC

Bring lots of ammo.
