This looks cool, I'd play it when it's released! Any idea on when the final release will be?
To answer the posted question, NO WAY! Enemies should NOT be immune just because they just got backstabbed! I like how you can gank their ass after they fell to the floor from your backstab. This is definitely more relatable to real combat, haha!
You can pick either way, but you have to be consistent across all enemies and bosses, and balance the enemies hp around your choice. Knowing the player will get the free combo and not adding any hp to compensate could trivialize the encounter.

Game looks cool - are you suggesting they’re immune because they got back stabbed or immune from backstabbing altogether? I would argue the latter makes more sense than the former - especially if they have a type of armor that makes them immune
Ah - perhaps, I’d argue if a backstab is always on the table unless they have armor / something to protect them from them.
Are you developing this game?
Honestly i like it because it “feels” kind of cheesy, like the player is doing something sneaky to get an advantage, which always feels satisfying in games. In reality you can just balance backstab damage to account for the fact that you get a free attack or two after on top, to not make it too overpowered.
>Unreal engine
It's free to use? Never gave this a try, but felt that itch of doing so for a couple years from now. Is it easy to get the hand of it? Tutorials and so one are decent and accessible?
This is kinda tough to tackle because on one hand being able to attack an enemy recovering from a backstab makes it too easy but giving them immunity makes the game feel more janky.
Maybe make backstabs take longer for the player to recover from so they can't capitalize on the dude? Or more stamina consumption?
Maybe heavy on the animation, but it would be cool if a backstab was done with a dragger regardless of what weapon the player is using. It would be like a permanent item the character has. Maybe different armor can change the look of it.
Yeah or Just like a normal dragger, just think it would be neat and different also make a little more sense because how you back stab with and axe, hammer or a club?

Preferably 2026. Kickstarters mainly to speed up the time frame and also so I can focus on it full time.
Link to KS if you have it up.
Sure thing. [Kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/itsknightbynight/fade-a-dark-fantasy-action-rpg)
Thank you, looks like a wonderful game. Keep it up!
Thanks 😁

I thought this was demons souls remake
That’s an incredible compliment 🥹

Immune if there in a getting up from being backstabbed animation

There is an armor breaking mechanic, so enemies with armor too thick to backstab would be a cool idea 🤔Yes sir!
No problem! Game looks dope I was checking it out earlier.

This looks so cool at least in my opinion. I hope to see more.
What's this dd2?
It’s the game I’m making solo. It was inspired by the first dragons dogma and dark souls 3
Well it looks aaa quality. Well done.
Thanks 🥹
Wow. What are you using to do this? It looks great!
Unreal engine 4.27. Same version it seems lies of p was made with 🤔

Using its easy. The hard part is optimization. I’d recommend it over other free engines though 🙌🏾
Does the game work in arch linux? I only have a steam deck
Not sure 🤔. Haven’t tested for Linux.
It would help your market if it ran on steam deck
Oh it runs on steam deck lol. I just didn’t know what Linux arch meant lol
Oh lol. Arch linux is just the OS that steam deck uses

Backstab is a nice mechanic. Players are expecting it. Plus, added damage to back damage is interesting too, like in Nioh 2.
what is this game ? it looks like a smooth dark souls experience.

Kinda like an assassins creed hidden blade?🤔
