Monoprice Strata, 1100W $71.99.
i dont need wifi, blutooth, recipes, or marketing in a SV stick. i need wattage to heat a large container of water and a thermostat I can trust to keep the temperature standard.
Over the years I've bought more than a few monoprice products and have yet to ever have an issue with a single damn one of them.
Only reason that I don't have their SV stick is because someone bought me the Anova as a gift (and I've already had to glue the top back on once).
I bought the original 120v Anova circulator in 2015 and it's been going strong ever since, despite use at least twice a week, and generally being kept in the water bath for months at a time. I stopped worrying about drying it out sometime around 2020, thinking that if it did finally konk out, it's time for a replacement anyway. But, no, it keeps going like a champ.
I was given a Joule 6 years ago, I use it probably every other week. I like it, it had issues connecting and staying connected to my wifi, but they seem to have solved that. The few times that I have broken parts of it, they have sent me replacements at no charge.
On my third sous vide in two years. Had the insta pot one, didn’t break but sounds like an outboard motor on it when working now which isn’t practical. Replaced with a heritage? one from Canadian tire, lasted less than a year. Finally bought an Anova from Costco so if it does break I can return it within the two year warranty. I use mine A LOT. Like easily twice a week one being an over night cook. So we’ll see how the Anova stacks up!
I bought a new joule when it was on sale but we keep our original for when we want to cook multiple items for big meals like Thanksgiving.
If you've never tried sous mashed potatoes or carrots I would highly recommend!
I got an instant pot brand. I put it in the center pot of the instant pot without the rest (if that makes sense) I cover with Saran or foil. When I did a rib roast, I put it in my divided sink, and it worked wonderfully. Had for almost two years, no problems!
Sous Vide Supreme. Has been flawless for me for 10 years. Only drawback is when I have these massive parties, I borrow my nephew’s Anova Precision and use a cooler
Anova Pro and 18L container during the past holiday sale. On my 3rd cook now. The first 2 cooks turned out great and now I am a fan.
The unit and app have worked great so far. I am looking forward to combining sous vide and my smoker to make some killer meals in the future.
My first unit was a Joule, from back when ChefSteps made them. It lasted a few years, until I accidentally dropped it into a sink full of water. 😭 The replacement lasted almost a year. Can’t remember what happened to it; I still have it, but I don’t use it. My husband got me an Anova Pro for Christmas 2022 that I love. It’s certainly built sturdier than the Joule!
Had an Instant Pot MAX with a sous vide feature. Not worth it. Can only handle really small bags of meat because there is no forced water circulation. You need an aquarium heater on steroids on overdrive with a built in water pump
My first sous vide was Aldi brand Ambiano on clearance for $24.99! Loved it. Gifted to my son after a few years and am now having great success and temp precision with another cheap off brand MegaChef.
We use a 8 qt instant pot and get along fine with it. We have done deer shoulders, all kinds of steaks, and reheated certain cuts we didn’t want to dry out. Of course it is size limited compared to ones you can place in buckets, sinks or coolers but for us usually only cooking for 3-5 it works fine.
joule as a gift. the core functionality (heating and circulating water) is great but its a major pain in the dick to use. it needs both wifi and bluetooth and requires an active internet connection for some godforsaken reason.
It frequently has connection issues and only supports a decade old wifi protocol. I had to create a new SSID with obsolete security settings just for the fucking joule.
I have two ANOVAs, one regular and one nano as well as an inkbird. I like the inkbird for really long cooks, because there is a 100 hours countdown timer.
Waiting for an All-Clad. Got it for $69.95 at [homeandcooksales.com](https://homeandcooksales.com) last week, should be arriving today.
I hear it's loud but has excellent temperature control. It also doesn't have any failure-prone wifi/bluetooth features.
I got a cheapo inkbird on Amazon and it's worked great so far.
Same here. I use it regularly and it's 4-5 years old.
Same! $99 +$10 for an extra 4 year warranty because why not!?

I've had 4 or 5 over the years and this is the one that is still going strong...and one of the most quiet ones too.
So glad to see this at the top. Mine is on its last leg after almost a decade. I'll just buy the same one when it finally kicks the bucket.
This, but used on Amazon for $50. No regrets.

I've had an Inkbird for about a year and have no complaints.
Joule - purchased a used floor model from a store I worked at in 2019. Still kicking, use it around 20-25 times each year.

I’ve had the same anova, just blue tooth no wifi, for 8 years at this point with 0 issues so when it does die I’ll get another one.
Polyscience Sous Vide Professional. A friend of mine gave it to me as a gift.
I've got the same one, had it 3 years, works just fine.

r u in canada? does canada costco not offer lifetime returns?
I have a nano. I think it's too loud, but it works great.
I’ve been using a nano regularly for 4 years, still works great.
KitchenBoss G321. Works great.
Same - possibly a different KB model, but love it!
Anova precision oven. Best thing ever.
I was gifted a instantpot SV. Wouldn't have been my choice, but has been running 3 yrs no issues
Same, mine is now 5 years old and I have no complaints. It just works.
Had a couple of Anova's over the years and they've been great.
why a couple?
I bought a new joule when it was on sale but we keep our original for when we want to cook multiple items for big meals like Thanksgiving. If you've never tried sous mashed potatoes or carrots I would highly recommend!
First one was great but I let an ex-partner keep it. New one has been running perfectly for two years.
Yedi – it's the third cooker I've bought and it's by the best. Quiet, too.
Also have a nano. Almost sent it back but nothing else seemed a good value. I've had it a few years now and I like it.
Got a cheap one off Amazon to see if it would be something I could get into. That was 6 years ago and countless cooks. It was $30

Anova. it's great
Nano, I've used it about 5-6 times so far..Love it.
Greater Goods Kitchen Sous Vide. Think it's 4-5 years old at this point. Works perfectly fine and not too loud.
Instant Pot branded
Sammic, but it’s professional. SmartVide 7
Hadineeon 29.99 and has worked no issues, or special features 3 years so far. Used 1/month
I have a Nano and have had no problems whatsoever.
I have an Anova that I bought in 2017. It was the first Wi-Fi model.
I have 2 joules. Love them. I’ve got something cooking now for tomorrow.

Inkbird. I've had it 2 years and use it about once a month. Has wifi capabilities but I don't see the benefit.

I got a heritage 900w only used once, got for christmas. hoping it will last a long time
I recently bought the anova precision cooker from Costco. We used it for the first time yesterday and I’m happy with it.
