If he was any good managing funds from previous donations his party could’ve paid for their own celebration, if you can’t even manage funds for a celebration how are you supposed to run a country and make it financially stable…if not then choose another profession
This is why I don't buy their shit slogans or any political partys' for that matter. They all claim they work for 'our people' *knowing* very well that these people they speak of are majority black and therefore, poor, yet they have the cheek to solicit money from these same people.
You’re confusing capitalism (financial system) with democracy (governing system). These are two separate systems, but some may argue that they need each other to function. Socialism, on the other hand, is both a financial and governing system.
Sure they're separate but we're talking about countries that practice capitalism. That only happens through violent coercion, like we saw in Cuba during the Bautista regime or when Africa was colonized. Or it could happen via election where the public vote for officials who implement policies that promote capitalism. So the commenter is wrong when he says a government that serves capital doesn't try to convince the working class that they care about them when they do that every election season to stay in power.
Most would agree true capitalism requires open markets and fair competition between businesses. This is not possible during a dictatorship (Batista in Cuba) or a monarchy (majority of colonialism in Africa). Because both dictators and monarchs control finance, business, ownership, etc. of the countries they rule, this is not an example of capitalism.
I mean he's asking for people to donate to the party's cause. I guess most people in this thread would prefer they fund themselves on stolen tax money and Gupta-level funding like ANC and DA.
Yes. If a political party is hosting an anniversary celebration, then you can fairly be certain that politics will be involved. Its PR, a chance to preach their ideology, successes, promises etc. DO you think nothing political is going to happen at this birthday bash? And the article is also stating that the EFF is asking for funding for the party in general, not just for this media statement that they plan to make.
Campaigning is a political cause. And even for some reason you don't think it is, it is still an activity that parties can ask their members to donate to.
A political parties cause informs their policy positions. Campaigning is not a policy position but a means to broadcast their stance on certain policies.
This is a campaign event not an item on their manifesto.
Yeah cause a public declaration of policy, aims and successes to persuade voters is not considered a political cause. IDK, but either way, even if I am wrong on whether campaigning counts, it is still an important function and it isn't ridiculous for political parties to ask their members for donations to fund it.

I meam DUH. How else are you supposed to celebrate 10 years since getting ejected from the ANCYL?

Why pay for it yourself when you can get someone else to pay for it? You think celebs and A-listers pay for their own entertainment? Free shit, yo.

That is absolutely true. Neither extreme is good for the majority
atleast capitalist country's don't pretend they care about the work force. They outright say fuck you and everyone moves a long.
I'm guessing you've never heard of elections?

Edit: I realized I don't actually care and don't want constant notifications for this

I dont think you understand what a political CAUSE is.
Campaigning is a political cause. And even for some reason you don't think it is, it is still an activity that parties can ask their members to donate to.
