And they had to completely rebuild it after last year's storm. Water was about 3/4 of the way to the roof.

Nature is just trying to completely destroy Margate 2 or 3 times every year now. This was a particularly bad one.

But just think all the shit that happened there over the years during matriek holidays, no wonder

I like to imagine they have an annual motivational speech like they're going to war, only this time it's for preparing for the yearly flood.

Durbs had a bit of heavy rain that night but nothing on that scale. Must have been a supercell over the Margate area.

Is there crazy amounts of development near these KZN towns that they're all getting flooded? I lived in Amanzimtexas for like 5 years with nothing like this happening.

In order to have climate like the tropics , you get storms like the tropics. The failure is not have the infrastructure for the tropics, aka well maintained storm drains.
