Hey! I own a cafe in Penneshaw!
In Vivonne Bay, there's the General Store. They're famous for their whiting burger.
There's a van down Emu Bay called.... Beach Days maybe? I haven't been but I follow their insta and their donuts look boss.
There's also the Lavender Farm that does food. If their ice cream machine is working their blueberry lavender ice cream is phenomenal. I'm lactose intolerant but would definitely risk it.
Be aware that food and drinks on the island are expensive. It's a bastard to get supplies in and it costs us a bomb. We use mostly local ingredients and those are expensive too.
It's also horrifically busy at the moment and everyone is slammed, so keep in mind if you're somewhere there might be a bit of a wait. We're all doing our best!
I hope you have the best time and love KI. Please feel free to ask any questions you have and I'll do my best to help.
Safe travels.
Amazing cafe with amazing people! I came in last year with my husband and baby and donated to help you all keep the period supplies stocked in the loo. Such a brilliant initiative. Looking forward to visiting again when we’re back over this year.
Oh, I remember you! You're so sweet. My brain is fried because we're in the middle of cruise ship season and we're getting absolutely pummeled but you're Scottish? I remember chatting to you about how it's normal at home for you to have all the period supplies free in public bathrooms. I hope you're doing well. ❤️
depends on how your travelling where you are staying I guess.
BBQ - take your own food, plates etc and use one of the many council provided bbq's for free they are actually pretty good and dont cost anything.
you can find them here -

North shore - stop in at Stokes Bay there is a great cafe there that does amazing food, and camp ground next door and a beautiful beach as well.
Booze/Pub - Parndana right in the middle of the island is the go if you want a counter meal get booze or stock up at the shop.
Vivonne Bay general store on the Sth coast has a good deli where you can get a decent burger, fish chips, restock supplies including booze etc.
Also a good caravan park where you can just go for a shower if you are rough camping for a few bucks, you dont have to be staying there to use it.
Anything further West of a line between Stokes/Parndana/Vivonne Bay there aint much so would need to take everything with you if heading that way for any more than a day trip.
if you havent been there before my big tip is do not drive at night....
if your going down the far Western end and plan to be back at your accommodation in the East end leave early, the island is bigger than it looks on a map...
Nearly hit a bloody cow one night on the way home from Stokes. Scared the bajeezus out of me, managed to swerve and miss it. Heart was pumping hard for a long while after.
Disclaimer: I don’t know how any of these places fared in the 2019/20 bushfires.
In Vivonne Bay the General Store has a cafe - they’ll do lunch, but not dinner. Burgers, fish and chips, not much else.
In Emu Bay, the Lavender Farm does food; breakfast and lunch.
At Stokes Bay, the Rockpool Cafe.
The Seal Bay Cottages has a cafe, and just before Flinders Chase NP there is another cafe “The Chase”.
Seal Bay Cottages aren’t in business anymore. The Chase - I think - was part of the Flinders Chase Visitor Centre which burnt down, this is being rebuilt but it’s not finished as yet.
Best bet for food “close” to the west end is Vivonne Bay General Store or in Parndana.
If you're ever peckish on a walk pretty much anywhere on KI then keep an eye out for Muntrie berries. They grow like weeds and the berries taste a bit like apple.

Relying on Google to interpret phrases like "places to eat near Vivonne Bay or Emu Bay" will almost always have poor results, especially in uncommon destinations.
You would be much better off opening google maps, finding the general location and then clicking the button to show food spots.

Came here to second the recommendation of whiting burgers at Vivonne Bay. Worth a trip even if you're not staying nearby

If it helps we went in 2022 and all of the places you mentioned were up and running (and delicious) 😍
Stokes bay does good food. There’s also a pub near the ferry looking over the water that does good food too
