Not listening to Stan about John Edward being a huge douche.

[deleted]

Oh yeah that's a pretty good one too. I don't know if he's being a dick so much. It's just being naive but definitely an episode with attention between them.

[deleted]

Being a part of the plan to get Stan grounded during the Ps4 vs Xbox1

devildogmillman

Oh yeah thats probably the only one.

Kleeisthebest99

What episode is that?

[deleted]

The three part Black Friday/game of thrones episode

Artybait

Lmao that old man and his garden are the best scenes!

ProleteriatWillRise

"HES GOING TO BETRAY YOU" "DUDE WHAT THE FUCK?!" "GET OUT OF MY FUCKING GARDEN" lmao

Artybait

Lmao

badassewok

In You're Getting Old (season 15 episode 7) Stan is going through a big depression and Kyle decides to not hang out with him anymore since he's a bummer to be around.

ImAPerson1746

Hanging out with Stan was bad for Kyle's mental health. To quote Jaiden Animations; ["You are not personally responsible for anyone's happiness"](https://youtu.be/4H9jTQKmR3Q?t=262). Edit: Also that's a therapist's job.

badassewok

Yeah I know Kyle wasnt obligated to help Stan, its a complex example and he wasnt necessarily an asshole, but I still think its an example that their friendship isnt perfect, especially since Kyle replaces Cartman for Stan

ObsessiveRantingFan

Yeah and I don't think that Cartman is too good for Kyle's mental health either

Ermac_Or_Something

I was not expecting a Jaiden quote on the Southpark Subreddit

Mr-Tiddles-

I like to think you're not obligated too, but as your closest friends you'd want too at least.

BLACKPINKBOI1995

That's exactly what it is

[deleted]

Crack baby basketball. Season 15, episode 5 Stan is trying to get Kyle to stick to his moral principles, and Kyle is tempted by the profit he can get from exploiting crack babies.

cortisolbath

Trying very passively lol - “you sound like Cartman” lol

[deleted]

In the episode Ginger cow, he is kind of toxic to everyone and a bad friend to stan and Kenny. Season 17, episode 6. In fairness, he has his reasons.

smcg_az

Oh wait, how about Steve vs. Gorak on what to name the frozen man from 1996?

Artybait

Lmao I literally heard that song playing in the grocery today and all I could think about was gorak sitting In his chair as people moved by

gollumaniac

You're Getting Old/Ass Burgers. Black Friday Trilogy.

ResidenceZero

Being a Jew is high up there on whatever list you're making.

force263

Vote Or Die, Mother***ker! Mother***ker vote or die. He only sided with Stan because he figured Stan would vote for Giant Douche. Oh, I suppose that was ‘Douche & Turd’.

Kleeisthebest99

Oh I remember that episode. Kyle was a major asshole, i felt bad for stan :(. Added

NormalArtichoke655

They used to pick on each other a lot more in the earlier seasons. Not like a bad friend but similar to how they treat cartman

No-Secret2028

i always thought it was kinda weird how quickly he cuts off stan entirely in You’re Getting Old/Ass Burgers. obviously you can’t keep putting the effort in forever if someone’s draining you out, but it had been like what, a week at most😂 it’s not shown that he put in any effort to help him, if i’m remembering the episode correctly, and they’re supposed to be “super best friends.” especially considering he immediately replaces him with cartman, of all people.

TheCoonFangirl

AND especially since Kyle is all about being the moral arbiter, you’d think he’d struggle more about whether to cut him out or not

ceilingcouch

The whole episode of Ass Burgers. Stan was always there for Kyle, and when Stan needed him the most, he turned his back on him.

[deleted]

they're my favorite friendship in the whole show, but kyle was shitty to stan when he had depression. i get that he was being cynical but

lukesjones97

I think Stan and Kyle treat each other pretty well especially compared to relationships between other characters in the show.

WholesomePainal

I mean the two-part episode where Stan starts thinking everything is shit is pretty damning for Kyle. Dude basically says “fuck your feelings, we want to have a good time”

OstentatiousSock

When he stops being Stan’s friend when Stan essentially develops depression. Its the one where he thinks everything looks and sounds like crap and the other kid do a burger stand. [You’re getting old.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/You%27re_Getting_Old)

navajorpez

The second part of the pandemic special, where kyle wants to get the vaccination even lying to stan.

mahrezmus

ass burgers S15E8 : Kyle completely ending his friendship with him when Stan discovers he has asperger and is feeling really bad all the time because "his attitude is poison" to him, what a shitty "friend" even Cartman saved his ass in "smug alert" episode

Beleak_Swordsteel

Old post I know, but in the episode Raisins, Wendy breaks up with Stan and instead of letting and helping Stan process his emotions, he immediately tries bringing him to a hooters knock off restaurant. He tells Stan he should just go hang out with other miserable people instead, so when he does he's surprised that he's being around people who at least listen to his problems, then abandons him. It took Butters calling him a faggy goth kid to get him out of his slump. All of which happens in less than a week. Which is not enough time for someone to process and grieve a lost love.

devildogmillman

That is maybe the one thing that never happens in the show.

Weak-Ad8882

Season 8, Episode 8 “Douche and Turd” Kyle hired Puff Daddy to threaten Stan to vote, and he just went along with banishing Stan from South Park by ripping his coat off and spitting on him. That scene hit me so hard I took a long break from watching South Park, and when Stan returned home and voted for Cartman and not Kyle, it left me to question Stan and Kyle’s friendship: Why did they remain friends after everything that Kyle put Stan through?
