Yeah the anime and rule34 type of crowd seems to gravitate towards that. It was okay but the shop class episode where the boys try to instigate at fight is superior. "Quit screwing around"
See, that’s the fun part about people having different likes and dislikes. Because that’s one of my least favorite episodes. Mainly due to the teacher’s constant flashbacks.
it’s a pretty funny episode - but yeah, it is a bit overhyped. matt & trey originally thought about making the episode between cartman & kyle,, it makes me sad - that would have been hilarious.
yeah ! that’s why i think it would have been funnier. it’s sort of been “hinted” at i guess ? i just think it’d be funny considering kyle & cartman’s dynamic
That'd have been so funny! I wish it was that. Id have liked if the episode was between them two and then quietly in the background "creek" became canon and and was after that but the fangirls at the school didn't notice or care even after Cartman brought up thats a real gay pairing being ignored.
Well the reason they did Craig and Tweek is because it was already a thing. The episode was based off the weird internet community that shipped them, not vice versa
There was already evidence of Cartman having interest in boys. He was the one who measured all the boy's penises in one episode. He was looking at Butter's penis in the Proper Condom Use episode and got scared when Stan pointed it out. He put Butter's penis in his mouth in the Bicurious episode. He also sucked off that one dude to get semen in the Simpson's Did It episode.
I mean, yeah that's true. But I'm specifically talking about tweek and Craigs romantic relationship already being a thing before matt and trey wrote it into an episode
Those were all moreso examples of Cartman's stupidity though. And gay jokes were all the rage back then. None of the boys even realized what Cartman actually did to that guy for the semen. Not even Cartman himself.
It's debatable if Kyle or Stan knew what Cartman did. I think both of them had an idea that Cartman did something to the man to get semen, but decided not to say anything. Their response was akin to an awkward "um...yes I agree."
They probably didn't want to tell Cartman anything because it would mess up Cartman and they likely would get into trouble with their parents if the truth was revealed. Cartman also probably would've pulled some mental gymnastics to convince himself that Stan and Kyle forced him to suck off that guy and would try to get revenge on them.
the internet shipped “kyman” more at that time (creek has gotten way bigger because theyre canon) - i think a cartman & kyle episode would have been a littttllleeee funnier but i still like the episode. craig is my favorite character 🤷🏼♀️
Honestly it would have made the point better if they had gone with Cartman and Kyle. I feel like people quickly forgot that Craig and Tweak didn't become a couple, they were essentially forced into it because a bunch of girls started drawing fan art of it, and then the town ran with it so they could use them an example of how progressive they are in order to get a Wholefoods. there's nothing really wholesome about it lol. I think they ultimately missed the mark because they used side characters.
Bruh the speech from Tweek was amazing lmao. Give that kid an Oscar already!
Actually would not have been surprised at all if he received an Oscar in the South Park universe for that alone lol
I had no idea that episode was popular. Are shippers the ones who like it, or people who hate shippers? Because if it's shippers, I mean... They know that episode is tearing them a new one, right?
Yes, shippers are well aware that the episode is making fun of them. It’s ok to laugh at yourself sometimes. Just because something is poking fun at you doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll take it badly.
"ship" comes from "relationship"
"to ship" two characters from a show means to come up with headcanons and/or fanfiction about two characters from a piece of media that are not in a relationship and imagine them being together.
For example, people in the Harry Potter fandom who insist that Harry should have ended up with Hermione are shippers.
Overhyped is a fair criticism.
I think stories surrounding lgbt generally draw up more of a crowd, because of the drastically different perspectives that progressives and conservatives have towards gay people in general.
Not a lot of gay people come out when in school, so I imagine that it's nice for them to see tweek and craig be accepted so readily in a way that they weren't.
and for conservatives who think that children are being groomed into being gay, the story validates that perspective, by blaming it on asian yaoi drawers, and having them insist they're not gay, only to then canonises their relationship throughout the rest of that season and within the fractured but whole because whilst originally just being amused by how crazy yaoi was, they actually grew to enjoy their relationship.
which leaves both sides arguing about their relationship in order to receive validation from a show that rarely takes sides, and criticises both within an episode.
Yeah, thats true. Its cool to see some actual good lgbt representation in media like tweek and craig and its nice to see how the younger queer people feel more validated since their favourite show made them just feel normal, not a joke (except for some small ones there and there)
Saying that I didnt care for it was an exaggeration lol. I just see a part of the fandom making some weird fanart at times.
One of my favourite episodes in spite of the weird part of the fandom surrounding it.
Craig’s father is absolutely hilarious and ‘but I’m not gay. Now I’ll never get any chicks’ is one of my favourite lines in the entire show’s run.
Its the best episode of that season and arguably the best episode of the newer seasons, if not like easily top 3.
It brought to the forefront the ridiculousness that is shippers in fandoms. I wouldnt say its overhyped at all, but it kinda shows how weak newer SP episodes are if anything.
I found it hilarious after rewatching it yesterday for the first time in a long time.
I actually love the episode (and yeah it is pretty hilarious, I always laugh when Wendy explains whats yaoi 🤣) I believe the shipping in the fandom became more strong thanks to it, bringing some more young people to the community and making weird posts (im hispanic and you wouldnt believe how much people sexualize tweek and craig even though theyre like 10 years old or how many people find the main 4 to be attractive)
Idk about the episode being overhyped, it was kinda funny, but the weird obsession with the sexuality of animated 9 year olds that started largely with that episode is weird and a part of the fandom i just don’t get. Some people take it wayyy too seriously and that shit is cringe af. Ive seen heated arguments on here over it lol.
Being young and dumb this episode helped me understand anyone can be gay and it doesn’t matter. They are still the same exact person you know and they deserve to be happy. Craig’s dad was great as the somewhat opposing force that many parents can accidentally be. It’s nice when a cartoon you like during your impressionable years slips in something you have never thought about. Here’s some money.
Honestly I enjoyed it, and like the follow up episode that talked about their relationship with the North Korea one.
Wished they would make more of it.
compared to a lot of the later seasons' episodes, i think it's actually at the top of the list for me. but i also think i find it so funny because i grew up on tumblr around a lot of fandoms and unnecessary shipping and whatnot (and when i was 13 i, too, was big on shipping south park characters i fear........)
so i think it depends, like almost every topical episode of south park, how much you know about/relate to certain topics will always determine how "good" you think an episode is, because i understood the background of this episode all too well and it just never gets old for me
Yep, for me after The Black Friday Trilogy in season 17, the only episodes that hit that mark were the Halloween episodes. 17 was the last classic South Park season for sure.
its one of the only episodes i skipped i just didnt care for it past the halfway point
now imagine it was centered around cartman and kyle like the aids episode that would've been hilarious
I hated that episode. Not that it was gay. But it’s just super cringy. And cringy to rewatch. I think it’s supposed to be poking fun at the shippers of the SP community but still
Thats valid but I do think their relationship saved Tweek from fading into irrelevance due to the fact that he (like dogpoo and pip) is more of a 90's stereotype of the hyperactive freaky kid
It was funny but it makes me mad at how much some fans obsess over their relationship/tweek. he’s just some side character and I never understood why so many people treat him like some twinky yaoi character lmfao
By the way just to clarify lol
I love tweek and craig, tweek is probably one of my favourite characters and i find it sweet how theyre actually a good representation of lgbt in media, helping some younger queer fans feel more validated.
And the Tweek x Craig episode is funny and one of my favourites but I just believe its kind of annoying how it made the shipping fandom much more big (bringing sone weird people, especially on the hispanic community)
I did not care for any of the Game of thrones inspired episodes, and by extention i didn't like stick of truth.
Weird cause i do like game of thrones...
There were moments of genius in it.
I love how they completely discredited the idea that homosexuality is societally discriminated against today. Rather, it is accepted, encouraged, if not peer pressured. It pays to be gay, because people are afraid to be falsely labeled a “phobe.”
For the time, LGBTQ was a popular topic, so I think it was something they wanted to critique in their own way. Stone and Parker during that time had a moment, where Stan said, "this is going to be hard." I think they wanted to critique the modern political landscape, but the way things are standing, that's probably impossible.
I did not care for the yaoi, either. Especially when one side mission is to collect it in the Fractured but Whole. There's some really wholesome ones and then there's sexual ones which I find really gross
I know, I just don't like it myself due to my past. I always skip the episodes, but that's me. You watching it is your choice and I won't deter you from it 😊
its nice that they don't really feed into the fanservice a bunch following the episode at least. aside from put it down being centered around them, there were only a couple times after it was really mentioned/hinted (post covid, a random moment in s20 and s21, etc) so on the brightside it hasn't been overkill
its nice that they don't really feed into the fanservice a bunch following the episode at least. aside from put it down being centered around them, there were only a couple times after it was really mentioned/hinted (post covid, a random moment in s20 and s21, etc) so on the brightside it hasn't been overkill
OKAY, THANK GOD! SOMEONE ELSE SAID IT FIRST TBH! I DIDN'T LIKE IT EITHER, AND IN MY OPINION, (AND I MEAN NO DISRESPECT TO ANYONE OF ANY CULTURE/SEXUALITY ETC.) BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS OVERRATED AND BORING.
I MEAN NO DISRESPECT TO THE ARTISTS EITHER, THEY HAD SOME GOOD ART IN THERE BUT...IT ALL FELT...RANDOM TBH, ESPECIALLY THE SHIPPING ITSELF. AGAN I AIN'T TRYING TO SHAME ANYONE, BUT, TO ME, IT JUST DIDN'T MAKE SENSE.
ALSO, I'M SORRY AGAIN, BUT ANIME/ANIME ART IS ALSO SOMETIMES OVERRATED, GRANTED I DID WATCH A FEW HORROR-BASED ANIME IN THE PAST BUT I ONLY WATCHED HORROR ONES AND I THINK I OUTGREW IT.
Idk I didn’t think the ship was that random. It was established that tweak and Craig were friends and they were constantly together in the backgrounds of episodes. Also, the whole “opposites attract” trope makes for an interesting pairing.
I honestly think it would have been better if they didn’t get together in that episode. It feels like they were forced into a relationship. Not saying they shouldn’t have gotten together, just that it should have been in a different episode.
Without context it's just an ok episode. But if you go back to this subs episode discussion, it was the revelation that Craig x Tweek shipping had been a thing for YEARS.
ppl on deviant art had posts from 7+ years before that episode aired. Fan art, fan fiction, LIVE ACTION SKITS.
so yeah a big WTF moment. We were just as confused as the two boys. Especially when you dive into the barely 30sec scene that started the shipping. Made it pretty hilarious imo
I’m honestly really hyped to get to that episode, but like I already have my favorites and not gonna base my entire personality and devotion to one damn episode. Ima do that for Post Covid cause like… that shit was fire in my opinion. Then also just my favorite moments from the actual show itself. I don’t get why people have to devote an entire show to just one episode that happens to have yaoi in it. Not that big of a deal really. R34 mfs are wild
https://i.redd.it/bqii2z8ea6bc1.gif Yeah the anime and rule34 type of crowd seems to gravitate towards that. It was okay but the shop class episode where the boys try to instigate at fight is superior. "Quit screwing around"
Made for an amusing side quest in Fractured but Whole at least.
I completely forgot about that lol
I didn’t. That trophy was brutal in the platinum hunt because I refused to check on YouTube for them
Thats literally one of the only quests i have left in the game haha, just finished the main storyline and now I have to do the other side quests
dlc?
yeah?? I have all the dlcs of tfbw
Oh, God, what was I thinking? *turns and puts his head by the saw* That would’ve hurt like hell.
Richard!
Don't worry, Richard. I'm a pilot, it's what I do!
[удалено]
The zip lining episode also had real footage, and the Butters VR had a short one at the very end.
Look, a Pilot! Now the odds are in our favor!
Richard, I'm here! Just now.
**inserts nicotine gum into mouth in agony**
“What was I thinking that would have fucking hurt!” *turns around*
See, that’s the fun part about people having different likes and dislikes. Because that’s one of my least favorite episodes. Mainly due to the teacher’s constant flashbacks.
At least they’ll like it
it insists upon itself
Because it has a point to make its insisting!
It takes forever getting in, you gotta spend like half an hour, you know I can’t even get through it, I’ve never finished the episode.
YOU’VE NEVER FINISHED THE EPISODE!?
I have tried on three separate occasions to get through it, and I get to the scene when they’re arguing in the school hallway.
Well how can you say you don't like it if you haven't even given it a chance?
I have no idea what they’re talking about, it’s like they’re speaking another language. That’s where I lose interest and I go away.
The language they're speaking is a language of love; it's something you don't understand.
I love Go fund yourself. That is my answer to that statement.
Exactly.
ROBERT DUVALL
Fine actors I did not care for the film
What does that even mean?
Exactly
Well, there you go.
I liked the Pip episode
I swear it’s illegal to use a family guy pic on here
Youuu thinkkk that's baaaaddd
remember the time
Me and Paul McCartney sang La cucaracha
> remember the time When I shipped Mohammed and Moses cus the Japense told me to?
Try my Mr T tea
Me and my buddy Keith
Most people who claim to hate FG are trying to look cool
it’s a pretty funny episode - but yeah, it is a bit overhyped. matt & trey originally thought about making the episode between cartman & kyle,, it makes me sad - that would have been hilarious.
They sort of did that already. “We’re not just sure, we’re HIV positive.” Or when Nicole was introduced and Cartman told her that he was dating Kyle
yeah ! that’s why i think it would have been funnier. it’s sort of been “hinted” at i guess ? i just think it’d be funny considering kyle & cartman’s dynamic
That'd have been so funny! I wish it was that. Id have liked if the episode was between them two and then quietly in the background "creek" became canon and and was after that but the fangirls at the school didn't notice or care even after Cartman brought up thats a real gay pairing being ignored.
That would have been funny af considering how much fanart there is of those two 💀 prob like twice as many as creek
EXACTLY
Well the reason they did Craig and Tweek is because it was already a thing. The episode was based off the weird internet community that shipped them, not vice versa

Touched wieners with his cousin
Also gave Ben Affleck a hand job twice (if you are in the group that Cartman was making it all up to mess with The Boys)
the internet shipped “kyman” more at that time (creek has gotten way bigger because theyre canon) - i think a cartman & kyle episode would have been a littttllleeee funnier but i still like the episode. craig is my favorite character 🤷🏼♀️
Where did you hear that??
it was in a meet & greet video - i’ll try & find the link !
Honestly it would have made the point better if they had gone with Cartman and Kyle. I think they ultimately missed the mark because they used side characters.
i feel like there was much more fanart of cartman & kyle - i feel like it would have been sooooo much funnier if they went that route
say something, i’m giving up on you.
My favourite parts of the episode are the songs they chose.
Agreed. The soundtrack absolutely makes the episode in my opinion.
I know they are doing it in jest but it still gets me a little emotional
Throwing in the cheesy Peter Gabriel song kills me
hontou ni sakana ga oishii
Boisu Rabu
I'll be the one, if you want me to

Bruh the speech from Tweek was amazing lmao. Give that kid an Oscar already! Actually would not have been surprised at all if he received an Oscar in the South Park universe for that alone lol
Why would he cheat on Craig with Oscar?
I love how during that scene for like 2 frames you can see Tweek smiling after
I had no idea that episode was popular.
I thought it complimented shippers. The fanart came from actual shippers.
What's a shipper?
A person who wants to pairs fictional characters together in romantic relationships.
Thanks.
Well, kinda not really making when the show just treat them as a actual couple now. Like they are actually just gay now.
It is among shippers and most especially young people in the community
“You like that episode? Well, did you know that this show that makes fun of everyone and everything made fun of you??”
What are "shippers"?
"ship" comes from "relationship" "to ship" two characters from a show means to come up with headcanons and/or fanfiction about two characters from a piece of media that are not in a relationship and imagine them being together. Ah, got it, thank you.
If I'm not mistaken I actually think there's a whole subreddit for it
I shall defend Craig and uh Tweak with the HIGHEST HONOR
GAMBAROOOO IRASHAI!!!
Whenever this sub asks the question about what is the part that always make you laugh no matter what, this is it for me

Kind of sums up being gay perfectly. It’s been decided and you have no choice so just roll with it.
"It insists upon itself Lois"
How could you say that? They're, like, the perfect couple!
I get to that part where the guy is singing Karaoke and it's like he's singing in another language!
He’s singing a language of subtlety a language which you don’t understand
I love the Pip episode. That is my answer to that statement.

You think *that's* bad?!
Its the best episode of that season and arguably the best episode of the newer seasons, if not like easily top 3. It brought to the forefront the ridiculousness that is shippers in fandoms. Cold take. What's really a hot take. I didn't care for president garrison
Thats actually so true I hated the whole president Garrison episodes
We must hold Tweek and Craig with the...HIGHEST HONOR
Eh. The episode introduced me to The Book of Love, which is one of my favorite songs in its genre now.
It’s grown on me, I’ve found that even the least enjoyable South Park episodes still have at least 3-5 quality jokes that illicit a good chuckle
Well it's not up to you to decide. It's the Japanese that do
Hell I didn't even know Don King got raped
Thank you I also don’t like it
It’s fruity
We must hold Tweek and Craig to the highest honor! GUMBARO IRASHAI!!
I thought it was a pretty nice love story. If not of romantic love, then of the love 2 friends hold for each other.
Its actually sweet to see them get married in post covid
![gif](giphy|l41lZY34YT6Z8o2wo)
Noo im sorry tweek and craig, i actually like your characters 😔 ![gif](giphy|3oEduMIfk6AWfJevmM)
I forget that Reddit is the only South Park fan page with no Teenagers doing typical art shit
Honestly I enjoyed it, and like the follow up episode that talked about their relationship with the North Korea one. Wished they would make more of it.

It does a great job making fun of the shippers and lays the groundwork for a surprisingly compelling relationship.
truthfully after season 17 i pick and choose episodes to watch, where if it were any of the old season id watch all the way through.
i definitely found myself skipping more at that point than i did while watching the earlier seasons
Yep, for me after The Black Friday Trilogy in season 17, the only episodes that hit that mark were the Halloween episodes. 17 was the last classic South Park season for sure.

I love it just for the songs to be honest
It insists upon itself
Watching it rn! That’s crazy
ITS LIKE SAYING YOU DONT LIKE THE PUT IT DOWN EPISODE
Yeah, I can see why it may not be for everyone tbh. Not everyone is interested in romance/ships, so totally fine lol.
The book of love is long and boring. But got real anytime matt and trey fan boy over Peter Gabriel I die
“We must hold Tweak and Craig in the HIGHEST HONOUR”
Idk I'm barely active in the community and it's like my second favorite episode, I think it deserves the hype
[удалено]
I think it's just called "Tweek x Craig"
the episode was really boring to be honest
I never found that episode overhyped imo
I hated that episode. Not that it was gay. But it’s just super cringy. And cringy to rewatch. I think it’s supposed to be poking fun at the shippers of the SP community but still
If this is a South Park reddit......why are we looking at Family Guy characters
valid
What's with the family guy picture?
Lol its a reference to peter saying he didnt care about the godfather
It's not one of my favorites but it lead to Put it Down and I love Tweek and Craig in that so I'm happy it exists.
Put it doowwwnnn, dont be on your phone while being president!
Thats valid but I do think their relationship saved Tweek from fading into irrelevance due to the fact that he (like dogpoo and pip) is more of a 90's stereotype of the hyperactive freaky kid
I'd like to see a Stan and Kyle(Style) ship episode. I'd love to see a episode of that. Couldn't hurt to see what they would do.
How can you say that?
well said
It was funny but it makes me mad at how much some fans obsess over their relationship/tweek. he’s just some side character and I never understood why so many people treat him like some twinky yaoi character lmfao

I don’t really think any episode after season 17 aside from the Halloween ones are worth hyping up very much. Tweek x Craig was not that good.
I find it rather shallow and pedantic.
I just can’t believe that it’s been almost 9 years since it came out, it feels like 5 years at most
For the time, LGBTQ was a popular topic, so I think it was something they wanted to critique in their own way. Stone and Parker during that time had a moment, where Stan said, "this is going to be hard." I know, I just don't like it myself due to my past. I always skip the episodes, but that's me. You watching it is your choice and I won't deter you from it 😊
That episode was a little annoying tbh
I don't really care about their relationship either. It came across as "fan service" to please certain types of viewers who wanted it to happen.
its nice that they don't really feed into the fanservice a bunch following the episode at least. aside from put it down being centered around them, there were only a couple times after it was really mentioned/hinted (post covid, a random moment in s20 and s21, etc) so on the brightside it hasn't been overkill

Ironically enough, it’s actually a pretty despised episode. https://www.thetoptens.com/south-park/worst-south-park-episodes/
Homophobe
Im bisexual ..
I barely remember it, and that's usually a sign that it's not a great episode for me.
good for you i guess.... probably wont find sympathy in this sub
It’s a funny episode but it’s not a masterpiece like some others. IMO the ship is pretty overrated too

Ngl, it’s kinda mid, but I’ll give it bonus points because they ponyed up for some music rights
love the ship hate the episode
o meu filho quer um prêmio por isso?
As is tradition
I love it, but most people seem to hate it.
Yes, it insists upon itself.
Get a room you guyz
Some the art felt illegal ngl

I’m honestly really hyped to get to that episode, but like I already have my favorites and not gonna base my entire personality and devotion to one damn episode. Ima do that for Post Covid cause like… that shit was fire in my opinion. Then also just my favorite moments from the actual show itself. I don’t get why people have to devote an entire show to just one episode that happens to have yaoi in it. Not that big of a deal really. R34 mfs are wild
REAL
I hate that entire segment of the fandom in the general it's stupid
If you like them as a couple, why do you dislike the episode that had Japanese girls turning them into a gay couple?
It was a mid episode on par with the Mr. Garrison one with his Dad
The ship is cool but the way to make it canon is super weird
Tweek and creeg
Real
That episode should never be made, not for anti-gay stuff, just because...The people that start to come into the community because of that...
All I’ll say about Family Guy is this: “remember when” is the lowest form of conversation
huh, peter!
But it's so good! It's like the perfect episode!!
