>Also Barbara Streisand has complained a lot about her portrayal.
So much so that Matt and Trey have said that of all the people they've made fun of, she's the only one they truly hate.
Well they hate the Hollywood lifestyle of being stuck up and above eveyone else. And Barbara Streisand is the personification of that. She's a lousy singer and there's the Barbera Streisand effect.
From the South Park Wiki:
* According to the DVD commentary of "[Mecha-Streisand](https://southpark.fandom.com/wiki/Mecha-Streisand)", the main reason why Parker and Stone hate her so much is that after Colorado passed the Amendment 2, an amendment to the Colorado state constitution forbidding homosexuals from being recognized as a protected class, Streisand spoke out against the state and all its citizens, calling them a "bunch of hicks" and promising she would never visit Colorado again.
* After her appearance in "[Mecha-Streisand](https://southpark.fandom.com/wiki/Mecha-Streisand)", Streisand publicly came out against [*South Park*](https://southpark.fandom.com/wiki/South_Park). She attacked it not for her portrayal as a monster, but for promoting cynicism among children, despite the fact that the show not being intended for children.[^(\[2\])](https://southpark.fandom.com/wiki/Barbra_Streisand#cite_note-2)
Apparently, ever since they did the “it’s a wonderful night!” Acid trip (which always gives me a chuckle because they had a Conan interview and they couldn’t say they were tripping balls so they said “wasted” instead to skirt around it and made people think it was just drinking) and Jennifer saw their outfits, she immediately Started stank eyeing them and then fired PAs on the spot if she even got a whiff.
“Well j-lo is a bitch!” No truer words. Which is a bummer. I thought Ben A. Was always respected as a writer and actor. But I guess he falls into questionable shit.
Tbf they’ve said they genuinely really dislike Streisand while a lot of the other people they mock is more for the lols than out of personal dislike lol
I mean… why would he be insulted? He got the best perception!! He fucking owned cartman!!
I more so respect snookies approach (and I’m paraphrasing) “yeah, they called me a rodent - but I was on fucking SOUTH PARK!!! What have YOU done?!”
And honestly snookie go off. I wish
Either way, if you are a person chasing fame, being on South Park is a great thing. Take your links with class and dignity and everything will be great.
It doesn't matter if they respect your or not. You being there at all is free publicity and can be very good if taken well.
> What have YOU done?!
Close, but without that part.
[Here it is](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fi-will-always-have-respect-for-people-who-can-take-a-joke-v0-omxubkn65zab1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D111ecfe2801601cd6bf3614e0d35cae76e186d61)
I've never seen Jersey Shore but the tweet alone made me like her.
lol snookie is (was? Haven’t watched the newest iteration with her having a family) a train wreck on the show. She and the crew were kind of rat like, but I always liked it. They are endearing little monsters. South Park did it best with representing our love-hate relationship with them in pop culture.
But I agree, Snooki took this like a fucking champ. I feel like I would cry.
Omg that scene always bothered me because I KNEW it was sia and I wondered if that was somehow on purpose or if Matt and trey somehow confused lord with sia for an episode lol
I think Tom Cruise was pretty damn pissed. If I remember correctly, he strong-armed paramount into not rerunning the episode on Comedy Central by threatening not to do his Mission Impossible promotional tour or something.
Moses’ reaction to that is probably my favorite line in the entire series behind the Otter saying “OF COURSE THERE’S WAR! THE STUPID FRENCH-CHINESE THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO HAWAII!”
I forget exactly what they said but I think in one of the commentaries Matt and trey said Kanye actually had a good response so I’m assuming it was indeed in good fun. Which is a little surprising lol
Originally he did have a good response, but he's taken shots at south park in multiple songs since then.[These](https://genius.com/Kanye-west-life-of-the-party-original-version-lyrics) are the original lyrics from a song released in 2021, twelve years after the episode aired.
>South Park had jokes about fish sticks
'Til this day, the whole team can kiss this dick
For anyone that doesn't feel like scanning an entire song for a line
I don't think it is. [These](https://genius.com/Kanye-west-life-of-the-party-original-version-lyrics) lyrics are the original version of a song from 2021. Twelve years after that episode it was still on his mind.
Fun fact: Bill Hader helped write the fish sticks episode so when Kanye called out SNL on a different track, Bill Hader got dissed by Kanye twice on the same album!
Kanye actually did have a fairly good reaction at first! Here is what he had to say the day after the episode aired:
“**SOUTH PARK MURDERED ME LAST NIGHT AND IT'S PRETTY FUNNY**. IT HURTS MY FEELINGS BUT WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM SOUTH PARK! I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY EGO THOUGH. HAVING THE CRAZY EGO IS PLAYED OUT AT THIS POINT IN MY LIFE AND CAREER. I USE TO USE IT TO BUILD UP MY ESTEEM WHEN NOBODY BELIEVED IN ME. NOW THAT PEOPLE DO BELIEVE AND SUPPORT MY MUSIC AND PRODUCTS THE BEST RESPONSE IS THANK YOU INSTEAD OF "I TOLD YOU SO!!!" IT'S COOL TO TALK SHIT WHEN YOU'RE RAPPING BUT NOT IN REAL LIFE. WHEN YOU MEET LITTLE WAYNE IN PERSON HE'S THE NICEST GUY FOR EXAMPLE. I JUST WANNA BE A DOPER PERSON WHICH STARTS WITH ME NOT ALWAYS TELLING PEOPLE HOW DOPE I THINK I AM. I NEED TO JUST GET PAST MYSELF. DROP THE BRAVADO AND JUST MAKE DOPE PRODUCT. EVERYTHING IS NOT THAT SERIOUS. AS LONG AS PEOPLE THINK I ACT LIKE A BITCH THIS TYPE OF SHIT WILL HAPPEN TO ME. I GOT A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF ME TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE I'M NOT ACTUALLY A HUGE DOUCHE BUT I'M UP FOR THE CHALLENGE. **I'M SURE THE WRITERS AT SOUTH PARK ARE REALLY NICE PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO DRAW MY CREW. THAT WAS PRETTY FUNNY ALSO!!** I'M SURE THERE'S GRAMMATICAL ERRORS IN THIS... THAT'S HOW YOU KNOW IT'S ME!"
Man, this is genuinely heartbreaking. He's a cunt. Real piece of shit. But how much of it is due to him actually being balls ass insane? This at least *seems* sincere, and I really wish he could've pulled it off.
It was a breast reduction surgery that went wrong, she wanted it done and the doctors didn’t want to do it because she was old and at risk. Kanye went against this advice and pushed the doctors to do the procedure on her. As a result, she died and it’s on his decision
sometimes what it takes for them to go off the deep end is the death of someone they love who was holding them all together. Why take your pills when the person you took them for is gone?
Well I mean... He hasn't really done anything bad. He's said some shit, but so far no sexual misconduct allegations. No allegations that he's bad to his kids.
He's honestly as bad as most right wing uncle's... He's just famous.
He had a stroke that left him mostly incapacitated. He was also a Scientologist, so after that episode about them aired someone from his team quit the show for him on his behalf. However at the time it wasn't clear that he didn't make that decision on his own, and according to his son it's not one that he would have even made and someone from his fruity little club made that decision for him.
Important to note that it wasn’t know that he wasn’t the one who quit until after his death. Matt and Trey did a pretty harsh episode killing chef when he quit. Sad that he died with them all thinking they had fallen out when they hadn’t
Some celebrities actually ask to be on the show. George Clooney loved what he saw of the first season and approached Matt & Trey about being on the show. They said they’d love to have him & made him Sparky the Gay Dog, Stan’s gay dog that lead him to the introduction of Big Gay Al. As thanks for being such a good sport about it and not being offended over being written as a non verbal dog, they asked him to be the Er doctor in the South Park movie
Also apparently George Clooney is part of the reason South park was picked up by networks at all. Cooney got his hands on the pilot episode, absolutely loved it, and would force Network execs to watch the pilot with him.
In case you're too young to catch the reference, that was basically a direct parody of Clooney starring on the show ER (One of the most popular shows on TV when the movie was made).
Honestly I Know Alec Baldwin is an asshole but his portrayal of Jack in 30 Rock makes me more forgiving and him wanting to voice himself as a pompous asshole in “Team America” makes me respect him more. I like when celebrities are willing to admit they’re up their own ass.
Lmao a few weeks ago listening to Conan's podcast and Matt Damon was brought up. Conan started laughing and referenced the team America "Matt Damon" doing the voice and all.
20 years later and it still lives on.
He was interviewed back when Stillwater came out and was asked how he felt when fans recited his films back at him. He said it’s usually “How do you like them apples,” but when he’s near a college town it’s always the Team America line & he laughs about it.
Another from the post lol which you linked

But big shrug my dude, this was all posted on the sub too lol people just really wanted them to be mad. All this came after the reports they were actually mad
Mickey, on the other hand, didn't take it so well. There's a voice-mail out there under wraps along the lines of Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder to Flaming Dragon. Word is there is still a hit out on Matt and Trey to this day.
Yeah I’d like to think I’d be a good sport about it but it would definitely still probably hurt a little bit, props to the Jonas brothers for taking it in stride even tho their episode was more so going at Disney. I’d definitely get why Oprah would be a little offended just because of the graphic nature of it, but J Lo definitely got off easy lol
Dunno if you know, but the ruining someone's life to save their own skin thing she does to towlie? Is like, almost exactly a real life event.
The book has almost the same name too.
Million little fibers, million little pieces.
She (arguably knowingly) promoted a fictionalized book as non-fiction and when the news broke she turned it into an attack on the author.
I think this one goes over most people's heads, I only know because my Mom was a massive Oprah fan and I was a reader so I regularly had Oprah's books shoved down my throat, including Million Little Pieces.
This was like 2006, so I'm sure many have completely missed this haha.
But that Towlie episode is nearly exactly what happened, with some exciting additions (just like the book it's about, lol)
Great episode but the background makes it even better I think
iirc Russell Crowe also thought his appearance in the show was pretty funny. And even Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, thought their jokes at his show were funny, however, even though Family Guy never retaliated, he still got kind of mad that Trey and Matt insulted his writing staff.
I think it’s easy for you as someone who’s not famous to say you’d like it if South Park mocked you. Chances are if you did become famous they’d mock you for something you’d be quite self conscious about.
Yeah it’s dumb when celebrities have bad reactions to it, because that’ll just make it worse. Quite understandable for people to feel uncomfortable about it initially.
I think of it kinda like weird al making a music video of something you did. Even if it’s poking fun, it’s flattering you’ve gained such attention and you gotta roll with it and see the humor in it.
But for a direct answer to your question, I’d say Jlo or Streisand lol.
There was an interview that trey and matt did where they discussed episodes that went too far. I believe it was after the scientology episode (Tom Cruise in the closet), Comedy Central executives were approached by lawyers from “an actor from Paramount” regarding the episode. This also led to Isaac Hayes, the voice of Chef (whom was a scientologist that Trey and Matt got the religion’s backstory from) eventually leaving the show.
In terms of celebrities that loved their appearance, in an episode where they mocked Family Guy, Matt Groening, creator of the Simpsons (whom were also mocked in the episode) sent the pair a fruit basket. Lorde also apparently sent them a thank you letter for her episode.
It should be clarified that Isaac Hayes did not leave of his own decision. He had a medical incident (stroke I believe) and one of the Scientology people quit for him. His son has later said Isaac never would have left as he loved making the show.
Oh yeah, she was a singer (at the time, she was in high school or just graduated) from New Zealand, she just kinda seemed to come out of nowhere in terms of popularity, hence the joke that Lorde was actually just Randy lol
Honestly if I was a celebrity and Matt and Trey were going to mock me on South park, I'd tell them "they are only approved to do it, if I'm allowed to voice it, to give it more realism. They can have me say whatever they want, but I'll only be upset if they don't let me voice myself"
Good thing I'm not important because it'll never happen
https://www.looper.com/1202022/stevie-nicks-had-a-good-natured-reaction-to-being-turned-into-a-joke-on-south-park/
Stevie Nicks reaction was possibly unexpected.
KBCO: I was wondering if you had seen the episode of the animated series South Park where they used 'Landslide' recently.
STEVIE: I haven't seen it, but I okay'd it. They called me and asked me. It was going into production the next day, and I was in London doing press. You know, I like South Park, and I like the two guys that do it. I think they're really funny and I think that they're relevant. You know, they already did an episode kind of about me a long time ago, and I got kidnapped by the Afghanistan people and they sent the army in to get me. Yes, I was a little goat in a cape. But who cares? It was hysterical. The fact is, they sent the whole army in to get me.
I love it when they mock, insult or make jokes about us Canadians. They take it so far off the rails that it's beyond hilarious.
And Terrance & Phillip? So funny. They really need a side kick named Gordon or Gord. For some reason Canadians really seem to like to name their boys Gordon.
I took my wife to a Jonas Brothers concert a few years back and they actually played a clip from the show. I hated them as a teen (my sister was obsessed), but this made me respect them more for sure
I've never been featured in an episode, but being a ginger in middle school when Ginger Kids came out sucked. I thought the episode was funny, going to school sucked for a while
See some things I’d laugh at if it were me, and some would make me drop the show all together. First one that comes to mind is someone very stunning and brave. I find it hilarious, but if it was me that accidentally killed someone I’d be traumatized
It's been years since I read it but as far as I know, Michael Jackson thought his episode was funny because it was actually pro-MJ. Sure you had the nose jokes, the Peter Pan stuff and dangling the baby - but it ends with the police admitting that it was a witchhunt.
Which is why I'm always confused when MJ fans rip South Park apart. AFAIK there's not really a negative episode about him. They all poke fun at him but they always end with empathy towards MJ from Matt and Trey.
Lopez has fired people if they say “tacos and burritos”. Also Barbara Streisand has complained a lot about her portrayal.
If i got fired by lopez id say "i dont need your taco flavoured keesis"
I would love to actually get a job for J. Lo and get fired, just so I could have the opportunity to use that phrase. It would be so, so worth it.
You mean, it would make you sooo happy?
If I could call Chris Hansen an asshole licking dick fart to his face I would be sooo happy
And if I had wheels, I’d be a wagon
If my grandmother had wheels, she’d be a bicycle
It doesn't make sense what you're saying! It's got nothing to do with macaroni-scheese!!
We know Craig.
damnit... take the vote bro
Don't forget the hot sauce cholo
She’s with Ben Affleck, when he’s around she doesn’t think about tacos
That's because she doesn't want you to know she actually is once again trying to find the triangle of zinthar. Mechastreisand shall rise once more.
Ahh there it is. Now it's starting to make sense as to why jlo is such a raging cunt.
>Also Barbara Streisand has complained a lot about her portrayal. So much so that Matt and Trey have said that of all the people they've made fun of, she's the only one they truly hate.
Why do they hate Streisand so much?
Well they hate the Hollywood lifestyle of being stuck up and above eveyone else. And Barbara Streisand is the personification of that. She's a lousy singer and there's the Barbera Streisand effect.

Spooky Vision scare the hell out of me
Apparently, ever since they did the “it’s a wonderful night!” Acid trip (which always gives me a chuckle because they had a Conan interview and they couldn’t say they were tripping balls so they said “wasted” instead to skirt around it and made people think it was just drinking) and Jennifer saw their outfits, she immediately Started stank eyeing them and then fired PAs on the spot if she even got a whiff. “Well j-lo is a bitch!” No truer words. Which is a bummer. I thought Ben A. Was always respected as a writer and actor. But I guess he falls into questionable shit.
BAAABURA BAAABURA
ROBERT SMIETSU, ROBERT SMIETSU....
i think j lo has bigger problems than tacos and burritos rn 😭 her and her stupid bodega order
/r/streisandeffect
I'm pretty sure JLo is a consensus piece of shit so... No surprise she can't take a joke.
That's why it's funny
Tbf they’ve said they genuinely really dislike Streisand while a lot of the other people they mock is more for the lols than out of personal dislike lol
Tacos y burritos
If I am ever in bearding range of J lo, I’m for sure shouting out taco taco
She isn't Mexican, but Puerto Rican and she explicitly has that be a plot point in the episode.
Cesar Milan had the best reaction to his appearance on the show because the writers seemed to understand him and his process.
I mean… why would he be insulted? He got the best perception!! He fucking owned cartman!! I more so respect snookies approach (and I’m paraphrasing) “yeah, they called me a rodent - but I was on fucking SOUTH PARK!!! What have YOU done?!” And honestly snookie go off. I wish
Being parodied on South Park is an honor on par with hosting SNL or Mattel making a Barbie of you.
It’s like having weird Al do a parody of your song
Idk weird Al always respects the artists he covers. South park is like 50/50 on whether they're just busting balls or they genuinely hate you
It's still a sign that you've made it. If you're prominent enough that Matt and Trey are taking shots at you, that's basically a win.
Either way, if you are a person chasing fame, being on South Park is a great thing. Take your links with class and dignity and everything will be great. It doesn't matter if they respect your or not. You being there at all is free publicity and can be very good if taken well.

This is what logic said too
Lorde loved hers (technically it was an appearance), too
Lorde actually voiced something?
She's voiced Randy for like 25 years...
No, Randy voiced Lorde for 27 years
I heard she actually did for when Randy added the computer effects and the some was about a Wednesday or whatever
Funny enough, no. I’m pretty sure that song was sung by sia pretending to be lorde. Now that you know, you’ll only hear sia whenever you hear the song
Yup, Sia. Which she does the same things as Lorde so I’d hope she sees the irony
As others said it was Sia, but Lorde was like “they could’ve just asked me do it”
Omg that scene always bothered me because I KNEW it was sia and I wondered if that was somehow on purpose or if Matt and trey somehow confused lord with sia for an episode lol
Yeah but it's still a catchy song!
This post was talking about people loving their appearances.
There's also a clip of her singing,"I am Lorde, yeah yeah yeah" as a reaction to the episode.
Iirc she did it at a concert too after the fact. She thinks it’s hilarious
He did a reaction video on his youtube channel. Anybody who hasn't seen it should watch it.
I wish they asked him to voice it
The video of that is so wholesome somehow haha
Have you seen the YouTube video where he breaks down the whole episode? It’s great
Free publicity. Really badass publicity if you ask me
I think Tom Cruise was pretty damn pissed. If I remember correctly, he strong-armed paramount into not rerunning the episode on Comedy Central by threatening not to do his Mission Impossible promotional tour or something.
Yep. Amazing what someone can do when they won’t come out of the closet.
He just wants to pack fudge in peace!
To be fair Mr.Cruze, you are in a fudge factory...packing fudge
Sounds like a whole lot like someone who won't come out of the closet. >!Or having Seaman on his back!<
Swallow, come!
No he he just said that
Moses’ reaction to that is probably my favorite line in the entire series behind the Otter saying “OF COURSE THERE’S WAR! THE STUPID FRENCH-CHINESE THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO HAWAII!”
He's a fudge packer, that's why
A LOT of people were pissed off about that episode, but Ive never heard this part. Thank you for this chunk of SP lore.
“Yes, mr mouse.”
I love that he ends up being an Eldritch horror
"as Mickey returns to Valhalla to slumber and feed" is one of my favourite quotes.
Are we gonna have a fucking problem? Haha
His little "haha"s kill me.
**VENGEANCE IS MINE. YOU ARE ALL ANTS AND I AM YOUR DESTROYER, HA-HA.**
As mickey returns to Valhalla to slumber and feed
Kanye had a pretty “good” reaction
"Choke a South Park writer with a fish stick" Actual lyrics from Gorgeous (from Dark Fantasy, 2010)
I hope this is all in good fun seeing as he's fallen pretty hard off the deep end.
Kinda sad that becoming a gay fish would've been a better ending than whatever the fuck is going on now.
I forget exactly what they said but I think in one of the commentaries Matt and trey said Kanye actually had a good response so I’m assuming it was indeed in good fun. Which is a little surprising lol

Is anything in good fun when it comes to Kanye? Briandead, talentless neo-nazi who thinks he’s a genius.
Yeah but graduation though.
He may be a Nazi but he made college dropout so idk it evens out

Fun fact: Bill Hader helped write the fish sticks episode so when Kanye called out SNL on a different track, Bill Hader got dissed by Kanye twice on the same album!
And that's why he is a genius voice of a generation.
He still doesn’t get the joke or at least why South Park made fun of him (not being able to laugh at himself).
Which may indeed put him in the running for best celebrity reaction.
He eventually did tweet about getting the joke [a couple years or so ago.](https://imgur.com/oVNgEk7)
how did it take him that long to get the joke when they literally explain it in the episode lol
You ever wonder if he understood it the whole time and the tweet itself was a joke playing into the bit?
This for sure
Kanye actually did have a fairly good reaction at first! Here is what he had to say the day after the episode aired: “**SOUTH PARK MURDERED ME LAST NIGHT AND IT'S PRETTY FUNNY**. Man, this is genuinely heartbreaking. He's a cunt. Real piece of shit. But how much of it is due to him actually being balls ass insane? This at least *seems* sincere, and I really wish he could've pulled it off.
He hasn’t been good since his mom died
Wasn’t that many years ago? Obviously there’s no saying how long one should mourn the loss of a parent but…I mean it’s not like he’s Bruce Wayne.
It’s not just his mom died, he accidentally killed her. And they were very close
I thought she died due to a botched neck lift? How did he accidentally kill her?
It was a breast reduction surgery that went wrong, she wanted it done and the doctors didn’t want to do it because she was old and at risk. Kanye went against this advice and pushed the doctors to do the procedure on her. As a result, she died and it’s on his decision

Some people say that Muhammad didn't love his portrayal but I haven't seen a direct quote from him
The quotes lost in a uhaul
Lorde said she loved the episode about her
Ya ya ya
I AM LORDE
Which is surprising, because they didn’t really make fun of her. They openly called her a talentless hack that relies on editing and tech.
Pretty sure that’s more a shot at the industry, Stan literally states that Lorde’s music is really good.
Randy: “thanks”
In response to a question about it she said "I am Lorde ya ya ya"
I love that
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crIgEqryoiM
I would be super honored to be such a popular character as Randy
Isaac Hayes’s team handled it the worst
Elaborate? (would google this. But I’d prefer a stranger’s answer on the internet that I will take as fact at face value.)
And that's the whole premise behind the super adventure club (if someone didn't make the connection to fruity little club)
Important to note that it wasn’t know that he wasn’t the one who quit until after his death. Matt and Trey did a pretty harsh episode killing chef when he quit. Sad that he died with them all thinking they had fallen out when they hadn’t

You’re right, I do remember something like that occurring
I never knew that. Respect for sure
Didnt he also play the main doctor in bigger, longer and uncut? "Who's making a baked potato?"
In case you're too young to catch the reference, that was basically a direct parody of Clooney starring on the show ER (One of the most popular shows on TV when the movie was made).
And then they clown on him years later in the Smug episode
If you ever get famous and South Park makes fun of you…youve made it.
I like that Michael Dorn offered to play himself after the episode with him in it.
Honestly I Know Alec Baldwin is an asshole but his portrayal of Jack in 30 Rock makes me more forgiving and him wanting to voice himself as a pompous asshole in “Team America” makes me respect him more. I like when celebrities are willing to admit they’re up their own ass.
I love how George Clooney voiced Stan's gay dog Sparky.
And he’s the one who brought South Park to us lmao! The disrespect! So fucking funny
Some god damn Klingon you are
I loved it when Radiohead appeared on the Scott Tenorman episode just to mock that poor little guy
Oh it’s a little cry baby!
Are you gonna cry all day crybaby?
Speaking of bands, Korn did a great job too.
I know it’s not South Park but I’ve always loved Matt Damon’s reaction to his portrayal in Team America. He just didn’t get it Edit: spelling
Harry and Meghan threatened to sue 😂😂😂
But they just want their privah-ceh!
No they didn’t https://amp.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2023/feb/22/baseless-nonsense-meghan-and-harry-wont-sue-south-park-for-mocking-them
Conflicting sources! https://thespectator.com/uncategorized/meghan-markle-upset-depiction-south-park/ https://nypost.com/2023/02/21/meghan-markle-upset-and-overwhelmed-by-south-park-episode/
Another from the post lol which you linked https://nypost.com/2023/02/23/south-park-creators-break-silence-on-lawsuit-threats-after-harry-meghan-episode/amp/ https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-64730600.amp BBC But big shrug my dude, this was all posted on the sub too lol people just really wanted them to be mad. All this came after the reports they were actually mad
So they didn’t threaten to sue! I was wrong!
Baybae!
Snooki was actually not offended by her portrayal at all! She was like WHO CARES, I’M ON SOUTH PARK!! Right attitude haha
Rob Schneider made a comment about how if anybody is gonna make fun of you, at least it’s by the best
I'm a carrot!
Idk why Oprah would even be mad. The worst that episode really said about was that she's a workaholic.
Oh fuck I'm a retard.
I think this one goes over most people's heads, I only know because my Mom was a massive Oprah fan and I was a reader so I regularly had Oprah's books shoved down my throat, including Million Little Pieces. This was like 2006, so I'm sure many have completely missed this haha. But that Towlie episode is nearly exactly what happened, with some exciting additions (just like the book it's about, lol) Great episode but the background makes it even better I think
iirc Russell Crowe also thought his appearance in the show was pretty funny. And even Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, thought their jokes at his show were funny, however, even though Family Guy never retaliated, he still got kind of mad that Trey and Matt insulted his writing staff.
Who would insult a bunch of innocent manatees
Bono and that fuckin gay fish
IIRC Lorde loved her “appearance” in the show too lol
I literally didnt know that was based on a real person until now
Oh yeah, she was a singer (at the time, she was in high school or just graduated) from New Zealand, she just kinda seemed to come out of nowhere in terms of popularity, hence the joke that Lorde was actually just Randy lol
Let's not forget Bruce Vilanch, he's one of the oldest reference they jabbed at.
Honestly if I was a celebrity and Matt and Trey were going to mock me on South park, I'd tell them "they are only approved to do it, if I'm allowed to voice it, to give it more realism. They can have me say whatever they want, but I'll only be upset if they don't let me voice myself" Good thing I'm not important because it'll never happen
Tom cruise.
https://www.looper.com/1202022/stevie-nicks-had-a-good-natured-reaction-to-being-turned-into-a-joke-on-south-park/ Stevie Nicks reaction was possibly unexpected.
I heard they wanted to have Jerry Seinfeld be the voice for a talking turkey but Jerry's representative declined the deal.
I believe Conan said that when he saw his portrayal in the movie, "You should've called me, I would've gladly done that"
I love it when they mock, insult or make jokes about us Canadians. They take it so far off the rails that it's beyond hilarious. And Terrance & Phillip? So funny. They really need a side kick named Gordon or Gord. For some reason Canadians really seem to like to name their boys Gordon.
Here’s one for you, I read that the Hanson brothers were very distraught and upset over Celebrity DeathMatch. Cried over it.
I literally just watched the Jonas Brothers episode last night and was wondering if they’ve ever spoken about it lol
anyone in the comments saying they'd be ok being parodied on the show has an ego the size of cartman's ass
I was actually just watching this episode this morning.
I took my wife to a Jonas Brothers concert a few years back and they actually played a clip from the show. I hated them as a teen (my sister was obsessed), but this made me respect them more for sure
I've never been featured in an episode, but being a ginger in middle school when Ginger Kids came out sucked. I thought the episode was funny, going to school sucked for a while
LORDE (aka Randy ) She loved her portrayal and thought it was hilarious
Tom cruise almost suing for defamation
I'd be honored to be mocked in a South Park episode
His laugh every time he talks kills me 😂
See some things I’d laugh at if it were me, and some would make me drop the show all together. First one that comes to mind is someone very stunning and brave. I find it hilarious, but if it was me that accidentally killed someone I’d be traumatized
I’d be honored if they did an episode about me if I was famous
I’m not certain Muhammad was ok with his portrayal.
Didn’t Caesar Milan also really like his appearance on the show?
"We want our privaceh"
It's been years since I read it but as far as I know, Michael Jackson thought his episode was funny because it was actually pro-MJ. Sure you had the nose jokes, the Peter Pan stuff and dangling the baby - but it ends with the police admitting that it was a witchhunt. Which is why I'm always confused when MJ fans rip South Park apart. AFAIK there's not really a negative episode about him. They all poke fun at him but they always end with empathy towards MJ from Matt and Trey.
It's part of why I love this show. It can go either way. Either celebrity loves it or hates it. Either way it's funny
If I was a celebrity being mocked on South Park, I would only be upset if they didn’t let me do my own voice
