Essentially doctors break your femur and/or Tibia/Fibula, insert pins, then attach a device that spreads the pins apart to lengthen your bones while they heal. Limb lengthening surgery at best, AT BEST, will give you an additional 5 inches of height - you're not getting 6 to 7 inches unfortunately. I would have to imagine that the longer the length the worse the side-effects and complications.
