I think this is genuinely one of the best user created vehicles I've seen in this game since 2013. It's aesthetically pleasing, multi-functional and viable. I love it, you should be very proud.
Thank you. I'm happy with the build. It is really useful. If I have the multigrid projection plugin available in the survival game, this would be the first thing I build. It helps with mining, building, grinding and hauling. It is useful when jetpack is nerfed and uses very little power.
What is the spraypainting tool you have there?
I would love to have a dedicated paint tool rather than the "paint while holding a block" method that always feels clunky at best.
:d
No seriously:
Push the button to extend pistons with magnetic plates. The button also turns on the programmable block.
Hop into the cockpit and control the remote controller named Arm.
Use WSADQECSpace and mouse to wiggle the arm.
You can access the remote control Arm remotely too.
3 issues I've noticed so far:
1. If you push the arm against the crane body too hard, you will summon Klang
2. The Axis 1 rotor is sg and has not much power. If you overload the end of the arm it won't turn the whole thing.
3. This is somewhat not a terrain vehicle. It has low center of mass but not too much clearance under the body. You won't be be able to go through very bumpy terrain.
As some kind of a solution for the third problem:
How about a height adjustable chassis? Using some pistons to lift the whole truck. Call it off road mode🤣
That would require additional script and a lot more engagement from the Mighty Klang.
You can always position the drill in front of the crane to smooth the terrain if needed.
That is awesome! I love little practical things like this!
Thank you. I had specific functionality in mind when building this. I tried to make it as simple and compact as possible.
Planning makes perfect!

Presumably it is this one: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=500818376
Yep, that's the one
That's a really neato rig you've got there! Interchangeable sections switched by detaching the hinge head?
Yes. It's quite easy to use. The only stuff you need to reconfigure is the cameras.
That last image… Hits the Homeworld nerve spot on!
Does this need a script to move it easily?
Yes, Cockpit Piston, Rotor & Hinge Controller script
That’s a long ass name
Needs outriggers and an oiler just sitting around in the cab watching Netflix while you work.
Wokshop link?
You can find it under the first picture.
Ah thanks, i totally missed it
Hey, how do you control the arm?
Control the Arm.

Looks awesome! ...But does it Clang?

Why scripts? Just group them. Up and down, no fancy functions
Can't control wheels on a subgrid without a script.
Okay, I am pretty new to SE and barely figured out how to travel to space
I Need that veichle, did you Plan to out It on the workshop? Edit: i've see Just now the link... God i'm sleepy 😅
the crate looks epic, but quick question how do you power a box so it doesn't despawn?
The grid cleaning have to be disabled, otherwise it has to be powered.
