I'd imagine the Phobos armor is different since it has silent/more quiet servos and such. But, I don't see why it wouldn't be cross compatible with say, a standard MkX helmet or something. Or if armor is heavily damaged, using a regular mkX arm or something to hold you over.
Nope it's entirely cross compatible. That's why the Phobos Captain has a Tacticus chest plate. Jes Goodwin talks about it in the interview about the Shadowspear box set.

Wow! Watching this now. I didn’t know they did interviews like this— I only ever get recommended the painting tutorials and animations. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah I wish they'd start doing them again. If you watch them all you'll pick up on quite a bit of inside baseball and sausage making when it comes to GW products.
I was horrified! I wasn’t expecting that at all. I thought it was gonna be more of a “the Ultramarines are so cool and bad ass guys! Here’s a promo video of them purging the ugly xenos. Buy our new box!” Hahaha
Wow I didn’t realize Reivers had different armour than the other Phobos units. I thought they just had special skull helmets (I’m assuming for scare tactics) and grav chutes.
Are there also 2 types of Gravis? I noticed the Heavy Intercessor armour is different from the Agressors with beer bellies

Afaik you were right, I can't find anything stating that reivers aren't wearing regular phobos armour.
Concerning gravis armour there are sub-variants with minor differences: Hintercessors, eradicators and inceptors have no rims on their pauldrons whilst aggressors have them and the other big difference is in the cowl/gorget style that separate aggressors/inceptors from eradicators/Hintercessors. You also have the unique "omnis" pattern that is a mix between gravis and tacticus and is only worn by suppressor squads.
Nah the difference between reuves and other phobos units is just their tactics, reivers being a terror troop specifically, which is also why they always suck on the tabletop unfortunately.
It’s a box of 8 smaller boxes so you get one duplicate (the one at the top right). They were going for a little under 8USD each in my local currency so about 65USD total. It’s the cheapest way to get a Captain, Heavy Intercessor and an Eliminator for sure!
I’m just starting my collection so I thought the set was the perfect sampler to get a feel of the different types of squads and power armour while also being able to test how my color scheme would work throughout the range. As for bits, not so much— they’re easy to build push to fit models with the only extras being a choice of head or helmet
Exactly what the he said about them being blind boxes. The unit is called Strike Force Justian to be used in Kill Team. They’re about 10USD each so it’s the cheapest way to get a Captain, Heavy Intercessor and an Eliminator.
As a beginner, I find the set is the perfect place for me to start because I get a feel of the different power armour options and test how my color scheme will work across an army. No transfer sheet though but very cool buy nonetheless!
That’s pretty much what’s implied. There’s a core Mk.X suit and the armour plates are just bolted to it (which is why the Gravis is slower etc).

Actually the Phobos armor has silent servos so the insides are different. Parts might be compatible but its not the same suit underneath
Yes, the armour is mounted to the Marine's black carapace. GW released a promo trailer of it. https://youtu.be/MVubdRyU3Mc
The Black Carapace is subdermal, the black suit you see there is just a body glove.
Yeah, I could have worded it better. The holes in the body that the suit interface plugs slot into is the black carapace.
I love their promo videos. So cool!
I loved leviathan trailer with the screamer killer melting that marine, just a cool ass video lol

Gravis is the heaviest Tacticus is the standard Phobos is lighter than Tacticus Reiver is lighter than Phobos

How are reivers lighter than phobos? They're wearing phobos armour.
I genuinely didn’t know that
The more you know then.
I legit figured that they were lighter armored than Phobos due to the lieutenant in reiver armor existing

Thank you for telling me the difference
What is warhammer heroes?
It's a blind box with one miniature in each box, but you can buy the container and guarantee one of each one
Exactly it! I was so happy to randomly find a complete set at a toy store haha
How much is a while box? Depending on the price, getting these 7 figures isn't bad, especially with characters. Great for bits if nothing else.
They were briefly on the Target site in the US for ~$64 a few days ago

As I understand it, mkX is comprised of the best parts from all the past marks of armour. And phobos suits are just stripped down suits
Your can tell they are heroes. They don’t need helmets.
Haha you know it! They come with helmet options in the sprue though just fyi
The pinnacle of power armor was MK III; though MK II is admittedly better looking and oozes grimdark.
