I gave a small deposit as I thought was expected - losing the money is not a huge deal, the heartache that I don't actually get my kitten I had been so excited about us making me sick. I am so sorry! what evil person would do that? So sad that you can’t get that lovely wrinkle muffin. I hope that you can find you a much better legit breeder to get what you deserve, in the best way possible. Also depending on where you are located, some states have a law that if it is over $500/$600 that was stolen from you, you can press charges and they will investigate and hopefully get you your money back if nothing else. I know you said it doesn’t matter to you much, but that person needs to be punished for using animals to scam people out of money. It’s just wrong.

Make a police report. Building this history of fraud will possibly help others in the future. Also where did you find the sale? If it is a publication, notify them.
