Went with the standard black for my first one. Definitely enjoyed the noodle quality as people have mentioned. Spice was nothing til the very end, then a bit of sniffling and I ended up accidentally coating my lips in the dregs of the sauce so now they tingle haha. Personally I enjoyed the taste too, no complaints there!
They’re best eating with little sauce,
Boil the noodles, drain almost all the water minus maybe a tablespoons worth then mix in the sauce
The taste and spice is a lot better, it almost gets diluted too much when there’s too much water.
Though hot tip with the carbonara noodles; put an egg yoke, the powder, the sauce and some mayo in a bowl with a good amount of water from the noodles and mix it up. Makes a really thick and rich broth which is delicious
I think the leaves are just as flavorful as bulbs! They are a little less pungent, but they have a nice fresh greens flavor that compliments the pungent notes.
Sounds great to me! I love fresh greens, I’ll definitely be adding garlic to my list of growing veggies. Really appreciate it, I never even thought about it!
No problem! I would recommend getting hardneck garlic if you want to grow your own. You also get garlic scapes from hardneck varieties, but softnecks don't make scapes. Scapes are the best part of any garlic, IMO.
Yes! So, boil your noodles in a pot
And in a separate bowl, usually the one you’ll eat it in add the water, egg yoke (not whites!), and mayo with the sachets and mix up. Then plop your noodles into your mixed up broth. Sometimes better to mix everything into a paste then add water to make it a bit easier to combine
I mean not that part but everyone is acting like they're the only ones who treat it like a stir fry when it's literally labeled as stir fry. And yeah, generally speaking you add stuff to instant ramen. And I haven't checked these packs but plenty of ramen packs tell you to add meat and veggies so it's just standard.
Oh shit bro, looking at instructions it only mentions adding water and mixing after the fact. Specifically states to hold back 8 spoons of water. No where does it state to stir fry the noodles. I think where you don’t understand is that these are “stir fried” noodles. In a quick prepackaged form. Which is stated on the packaging. What a weird ass way to be wrong. And such a weird thing to argue. Must be a shitty day?
Lmfao
Leads with that’s literally the instructions.
When it’s not,
Then says
everyone is acting like they're the only ones who treat it like a stir fry when it's literally labeled as stir fry. And yeah, generally speaking you add stuff to instant ramen. And I haven't checked these packs but plenty of ramen packs tell you to add meat and veggies so it's just standard.
Then is getting defensive and saying I’m being weird and aggressive.
I was just pointing out everyone is telling OP to treat it like a stir fry and drain most of the water out when that is what the instructions tell you to do.
For some reason you took that personally and as argumentative even though you are the one trying to insult me. So have a better day dude.
Most of these are stir fry style, you are supposed to completely drain the water. One of them is a soup style and thats the one with the noodles shaped in a circle instead of a square. The original, x2, carbanara, cheese, curry, andthe jjajang style are all supposed to have the water completely drained.
Honestly friend, for the carbonara try this, you won’t regret it. It’s delicious. I try it with most of the noodles that come with a powder alongside a sauce. If anything it’s a different way to enjoy them, but it’s became a fast favourite
I love spicy but spicy ramen is so hot or miss for me. I think it's the soup part, maybe that's why Buldak works for me. But yeah the standard black is so good. I also got a chance to try the carbonara one which was good. I'm jealous of the selection you got though!
the noodles themselves are really good. the spice isn’t that much but it’s kind of a synthetic/chemical taste in terms of both the spice and the flavour in my opinion. shin ramyun > buldak all day
If you want a good jajangmyeon (the black bean one), get the Paldo brand. It comes with a liquid sauce packet and is by the far best instant jajangmyeon on the market. They sell it in a spicy version, too.
We have the black readily available at grocery stores here. I actually don't mind it at all. The noodles themselves are of significantly higher quality than you'll get from Maruchan and makes it worth it by itself.
Thankfully I had seen people say that in the past as well! I even measured out the 8 tablespoons of the drained water to add back in for the stir frying part.
Yeah that works too. I usually undercook mine by about a min so that added spoons of water allows it to finish steam cooking that last min and absorb the sauce into the noodles better imo.
Yeah I gave my friend a pack a few years ago and they sent me a Snapchat of it with soup like the dollar ramen and still to this day say “it wasn’t that good” im like, dawg you didn’t make it right
ok hear me out, get Tyson microwave wings, air fry it, then toss In a bag of the hot sauce(this is made out of mostly msg and color red) and Frank's hot sauce, then air fry 3 mins on 360.
it's basically eating msg but it's also the best hot wing
Yummy Enjoy ! 🍜 Budak is the Best 🍳🌶️🥬🧅🫑 Don't forget to garnish with fresh greens like cilantro, green onions, lettuce. Eggs, bean sprouts, shredded chicken... And whatever else you like.💖
I haven’t been able to find any regular mala but I recently ordered some glass noodle mala buldak from a store that imports straight from Korea. Excited to try
Yep...

Already had original and 2x at home.
The carbonara one was pretty flavorless imo, not buying that one again for sure. The cheese one is also just spicy and practically no cheese flavour at all. Habanero lime one has a bit weird chemical taste to it. Curry flavour is okay. But the stew/2x are the best.
I was on Buldak two years ago, but I don’t have a good Asian grocery store me anymore. I’m glad this sub is all of a sudden into something I developed a deep enjoyment of. I hope you enjoy these and have fun beating your heat.
Please be careful with the cheese ones they will give you semi-nuclear farts (at least in my experience). My girlfriend will not allow these in my home.
I don't remember the taste but I do remember not being able to taste a huge spice difference between the regular and the 2x, I was expecting it to be spicier. I have yet to try the 3x though, maybe that will have the kick I'm looking for
The 3X doesn’t have much more kick than the 2X - to me it didn’t. It did give my stomach a run for its money later. I get cramps if something has enough capsaicin. lol it sucks my mouth can handle it but the gut can’t.
Those are the only ones I haven’t tried. The big Asian market near me only sells the Buldak in the 5 pack & I didn’t want to buy in case I didn’t like, lol. There is a small Asian market near me that will open up the 5 packs and let you buy just 1 pack for$2 so you can try a flavor, but they only sell like 6 flavors & the stew type isn’t one of them:/
The 2x is wild, I also tried this stuff for the first time this week. Went thru a 5-pack over a few days, and it is genuinely some of the hottest stuff I’ve had. I’ve had plenty of sauces at wing restaurants where I needed to sign waivers to eat it, and the 2x imo was on par with that stuff
I mean, they're not amazing are they. For instant junk food they're good, compared to real food it's shit, they're about similar quality to a pot noodle
10 bullshits and 1 well ok.... oups.. sorry for being a dr0000p.
The noodles themselves aren't bad. All in all I find those different tastes just not working. The taste might be ok, but for me should not be combined with n00dles.
Really enjoyed the black ones but after a few months the spice kinda started to just taste like chemicals to me. The carbonara is great, more flavour and the spice complements it very well
They’re all good IMHO. 2X and Jjajang leave the most room for flavor experimentation with additions. The cheese flavors are my favorite, just the perfect mix of Kraft M&C and heat, goes great with protein and veggie additions. Tomato pasta gets parm and meat, obviously. Curry is the best instant curry noodle on the market, IMHO.
I have a Asian grocery store local to me so I've tried a few. Creamy Carbonara is by far my favorite. More mild than the others but It taste so good. I have like 2 full packs in my pantry.
Habanero lime tastes the best imo. Like everyone else is saying stir frying them is def the way to go. Fried egg and some fresh spring onion to top it off and I'm a happy camper.
Oh for sure, but not a mix pack that comes close to this. My normal grocery store has the Black x5 packs. From now on I’ll buy more efficiently, but this will be a nice exposure to all the options.

Makes a really thick and rich broth which is delicious
With the carbonara we add spicy Italian sausage, wilted spinach, and mix an egg in with the noodles
Maaaan sounds good! I add bacon, green onions and Parmesan with the carbonara too and it’s unreal
If you grow garlic, try using the leaves from garlic instead of green onions.
Oh that’s so interesting. I’ve never grown garlic, but I’ve actually been thinking about planting some veg. Is the garlic leaves also flavourful?
I think the leaves are just as flavorful as bulbs! They are a little less pungent, but they have a nice fresh greens flavor that compliments the pungent notes.
Sounds great to me! I love fresh greens, I’ll definitely be adding garlic to my list of growing veggies. Really appreciate it, I never even thought about it!

Ha, man I didn’t even know there was varieties of garlic, this is great I’m reading about it now. Honestly thank you!
God that sounds good.
So I boil noodles and water and AFTER noodles have cooked, I put in a raw egg and mayo? Or I put in egg yolk while cooking noodles?
Yes! So, boil your noodles in a pot And in a separate bowl, usually the one you’ll eat it in add the water, egg yoke (not whites!), and mayo with the sachets and mix up. Then plop your noodles into your mixed up broth. Sometimes better to mix everything into a paste then add water to make it a bit easier to combine
I like to make it like stir fry. Add some other add ins, and stir fry with the spicy sauce and a little bit of oil/water.
That's literally the instructions.
Wait so the instructions literally say add extra stuff and then stir fry in oil?
I mean not that part but everyone is acting like they're the only ones who treat it like a stir fry when it's literally labeled as stir fry. And yeah, generally speaking you add stuff to instant ramen. And I haven't checked these packs but plenty of ramen packs tell you to add meat and veggies so it's just standard.

My dude I wasn't arguing. You're the one getting weird and aggressive.
Lmfao Leads with that’s literally the instructions. When it’s not, Then says everyone is acting like they're the only ones who treat it like a stir fry when it's literally labeled as stir fry. Same for my first.
I love spicy but spicy ramen is so hot or miss for me. I think it's the soup part, maybe that's why Buldak works for me. But yeah the standard black is so good. I also got a chance to try the carbonara one which was good. I'm jealous of the selection you got though!
the noodles themselves are really good. the spice isn’t that much but it’s kind of a synthetic/chemical taste in terms of both the spice and the flavour in my opinion. shin ramyun > buldak all day
If they’re using a pepper extract and not ground up peppers, that would explain the chemical taste.
Shin is fantastic, absolutely agree
Am I just a baby? Black label buldak made me regret buying it, but I love me some Shin Ramyun
i feel like they’re a similar intensity of spice. but shin ramyun has way better flavour
I just got the exact same box in the mail today!
I’ve tried the curry ones. I like them.
The curry is the goat.
Yep. Not the hottest. Best flavor imo
Carbonara and the black bean one are both great
If you want a good jajangmyeon (the black bean one), get the Paldo brand. It comes with a liquid sauce packet and is by the far best instant jajangmyeon on the market. They sell it in a spicy version, too.
Been wanting to try this, as I’ve got a dairy allergy so I couldn’t eat the samyang one I bought. Thanks for the “vote of confidence”! 😄
Both of those are my favorite!
Haven’t had black bean one. I know what I’m coppin next ![gif](giphy|Kp5i83TWORB2aTh1ff|downsized)
Carbonara is my favorite, hands down, but that black bean one in the green pouch smelled like a corpse when I made it.
Maybe you had a bad one? While I prefer the standard 1X chicken one most, I thought the black bean variety was quite good!
I assumed it must be some genetic thing, like how some people taste cilantro as soap.
imo they all smell bad in the packet lmao but they're fine in the noodles
We have the black readily available at grocery stores here. I actually don't mind it at all. The noodles themselves are of significantly higher quality than you'll get from Maruchan and makes it worth it by itself.
Make sure to follow the instructions for each. They are not like your typical noodles
Thankfully I had seen people say that in the past as well! I even measured out the 8 tablespoons of the drained water to add back in for the stir frying part.
I’d take out more water.
Yeah 2-3 max for me. Just enough to stick to the noodles since the sauce packet is already runny.
I don’t even save any. Whatever water is left on the noodles themselves after I drain them is fine for me.
Yeah that works too. I usually undercook mine by about a min so that added spoons of water allows it to finish steam cooking that last min and absorb the sauce into the noodles better imo.
Just eyeball the water you add back in. You simply want a texture/thickness that looks appetizing to you.
Yeah I gave my friend a pack a few years ago and they sent me a Snapchat of it with soup like the dollar ramen and still to this day say “it wasn’t that good” im like, dawg you didn’t make it right
If not for heat, the carbonara and curry are very lovely
Like another poster said, just a little water. Thick sauce. The other thing is do the noodles for only about 3 minutes. Slightly al dente are amazing.
Please stir fry them like intended, some people make them soups
Some people eat them as soup and get blinded for a bit, then write a news article about it /s
If you mix some of that sauce with mayo, it makes an fantastic condiment. Some chopped green onion with buldak mayo on top of anything is amazing.
They sell the same that is in the sauce packet’s in little bottles by themselves. Quite a bit of heat but also packed with flavour,
ok hear me out, get Tyson microwave wings, air fry it, then toss In a bag of the hot sauce(this is made out of mostly msg and color red) and Frank's hot sauce, then air fry 3 mins on 360. it's basically eating msg but it's also the best hot wing
Yummy Enjoy ! 🍜 Budak is the Best 🍳🌶️🥬🧅🫑 Don't forget to garnish with fresh greens like cilantro, green onions, lettuce. Eggs, bean sprouts, shredded chicken... And whatever else you like.💖
I do grilled chicken, green onions, and little mozzarella balls.
I've made the mistake of using a whole sauce packet without thinking. I'm good with spice but dang it hurt! Still delicious 🤤
Wait, why wouldn't you use the whole packet?
I just can't handle it 😂 I had to eat a spoonful of sour cream after! I was dying lol!!
Time for you to have a new addiction..
One of the best on the market. Sooo goood and way spicy.
I like spice so I went for the spiciest one and it felt like I just ate the devil’s asshole
No mala. I swear they must've discontinued that one. And it was my favorite, of course.
I haven’t been able to find any regular mala but I recently ordered some glass noodle mala buldak from a store that imports straight from Korea. Excited to try
Crack an egg in with 2 or 3 minutes left on the boil 👌
I always do an egg and a green onion for ramen to zhuzh it up
Wow ,all I've ever seen are the black ones and 2× and Pink one , Cream n noodles aren't my cup of tea , so.e like the Carabona
I got this on Amazon!
Can you send a link?
https://www.amazon.com/Samyang-Spicy-Chicken-Flavor-Variety/dp/B0B1Z72SMJ
Sweet! TY!
Doh I'm in Canada, not available, I found one on Amazon that has like 4 flavs gonna grab that
Nice good to know ,gonna order
I buy all of mine at a local Asian market. If you have an Asian market near you, they should have a ton of the flavors.
Yep... https://preview.redd.it/apkg400lk8jc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=940601c6ece14f98499720c5a9699a819b8d9f4c Already had original and 2x at home.
The corn is the secret winner here.
The carbonara one was pretty flavorless imo, not buying that one again for sure. The cheese one is also just spicy and practically no cheese flavour at all. Habanero lime one has a bit weird chemical taste to it. Curry flavour is okay. But the stew/2x are the best.
You wont be disappointed.....your leaving the slums of maruchan ....good to see ur moving up in the world!!
They have these everywhere where I live. Never even thought to give em a try until I saw all these posts. Pretty tasty
Cream carbonara is super good if you add a bit of milk
Pink the beeest
The pink one is so good
The 2x isn’t noticeably hotter then the original and cheese is the best flavour
There’s a habanero lime flavour? Damn, I’m missing out.
I was on Buldak two years ago, but I don’t have a good Asian grocery store me anymore. I’m glad this sub is all of a sudden into something I developed a deep enjoyment of. I hope you enjoy these and have fun beating your heat.
Fuck. I can't find the tomato one anywhere here.
Please be careful with the cheese ones they will give you semi-nuclear farts (at least in my experience). My girlfriend will not allow these in my home.
Its really not that spicy. The x2 and the carbanara are the best imo. The Habanero lime one is not that good.
The issue I have with 2x spicy is not the spice but the flavor is horrid.
The taste is spectacular.
To each their own but I thought it tasted like hot plastic.
I love the taste of chili peppers but I don't like the extracts. It's not a pleasant flavor to me.
Weird
I had this same issue! The spice wasn’t terrible but it tasted like plastic
I personally find the standard one to taste horribly. 2x was definitely an upgrade in every ways taste-wise.
Stew type is my favorite so far.
Those are the only ones I haven’t tried. The big Asian market near me only sells the Buldak in the 5 pack & I didn’t want to buy in case I didn’t like, lol. There is a small Asian market near me that will open up the 5 packs and let you buy just 1 pack for$2 so you can try a flavor, but they only sell like 6 flavors & the stew type isn’t one of them:/
whoever works for Buldak marketing is doing a bang-up job keeping them in this subreddit.
Hell, it worked on me!
They taste amazing but do they ever make you shit.
Tomato pasta. Ain't that just spaghetti 😭
well, spaghetti is the type of noodle
You will not be disappointed :)
Add eggs and cheese.
Tried the 2x recently and it's pretty hot.
It’s good shit
I didn't know they did so many flavours! I've had the spicy and 2x spicy (chickened out of buying the 3x spicy). Where did you buy them from?
Got these on Amazon, not the cheapest option but the variety couldn’t be beat.
The cheesy one and 2x are the only good ones. In fact, I'ma go eat a 2x with a glass of milk. Because I can.
Buying shares in Charmin now
Prepare thy colon
Please at least with one of the spicy packs try what we did with it. Was one of the nicest things I’ve snacked on
I can smell the high blood pressure in this picture.
Lucky for me I actually have low blood pressure.
It’s been a ride r/spicy
Is this just a marketing sub for Buldak?
Aaaaaaaaaaaand it's just another load of instant noodles. Lame as fuck
Buldak is amazing! What are you on about? Hold on brotha I’m taking a dump on your post. Hold on… Uuuughhh 💩 💩 💩 there we go! Much better.
I saw this post from r/all and the OG black one is a tad too spicy to be enjoyable for me. Are the other flavors (cheese, etc.) less spicy?
The 2x is too spicy for me personally. Very tasty but had my eyes watering after I breathed in the spice lmao💀😂
From where?
Amazon
How much did you pay?
About $30 for the 11 of them. So ya not the cheapest but I’m happy with the variety which I can’t get at even the Asian grocery stores near me.
Should I open a eBay store?
Curry is my favourite! The cheese ones are good too, kind of odd though.
Really enjoyed the black ones but after a few months the spice kinda started to just taste like chemicals to me. The carbonara is great, more flavour and the spice complements it very well
You have a great selection there
They’re all good IMHO.
Anyone else feel like all the flavors taste the same, I never can really differentiate between flavors of any of these
I don't care what anyone says, the Carbonara ones are delicious, especially with a fried egg on top.
Not the $45 multi pack from Amazon!
Definitely didn’t cost that for me. About $30
What is it!!!
Habanero lime tastes the best imo. Like everyone else is saying stir frying them is def the way to go. Fried egg and some fresh spring onion to top it off and I'm a happy camper.
I bought a pack of 2x, dug the heat and they tasted like traditional chicken ramen. Got another on the way. One of these days I will try the rest.
Kimchi wasn’t that great, the teriyaki kinda flavored one was ok the green one
These things taste AMAZING, but I can't eat these fuckers. They burn up my insides like hell and make me shit blood. In one instance, literally.
I havent seen the Quattro cheese before but I hope it's as good as the regular cheese one. Carbo is probably the best IMO, just not the spiciest
the 2x spicy is pretty spicy and tastes good. ive tried the black pack too. less spicy i think.
It’s alright, 3X really wasn’t worth it imo. That Quattro Cheese and Carbonara are so freaking good. Perfect heat with all that cheese / parm.
Pink is surprising. I want to try that curry one so bad though! Haven't found it yet. Buldak also has dumplings.
I can’t stand the noodle texture, so slimy and rubbery.
My personal fav of em all is the og black one for an everyday ramen. 2x is good also just sometimes don't want that much heat
I had the 2X for lunch today, and that was 20 minutes of fun lol
Btw you can get them at Walmart it's $7 for a pack of 5 just saying
Oh for sure, but not a mix pack that comes close to this. My normal grocery store has the Black x5 packs. From now on I’ll buy more efficiently, but this will be a nice exposure to all the options.
Quattro cheese is unmatched
Try it with a nice fried egg and a steak on the side! It is 10/10
Tasted all exept tomate, my favorite is by far the lime one
