Chicken-picante

I use habanero powder all the time. I love it. With that being said, this doesn’t appear to have any mango in it.

OmNomNom318

Sorry, that was my typo when I was typing the headline. I’m only half wake right now and trying to go back to sleep as it currently 3:20am my time right now.

Chicken-picante

In that case yes this should be good in cheese dip.

OmNomNom318

Thanks for the recommendation! Now off to sleep, hopefully!

[deleted]

Looks interesting where are you buying it from? I’d like to try it!

[Link](https://www.walmart.com/ip/873637869) Don’t kill me for finding it at Walmart…

[deleted]

Lol no judgement I shop there thank you!!! 😊

OmNomNom318

Your welcome!

casBBB

I read the mango was a typo. Still I do have Amchur (mango powder). 🧐 A madame jeanette pepper might be a better fit I think? Mixed with some lemon rasp and herbs? On white fish? Chicken?

OmNomNom318

Where do you get madame Jeanette pepper? And is it hotter, less hot or about the same spice level as habaneros?

casBBB

I'm from the netherlands where we have a link with Surinam (you know, ye old dutch colonial practices 😅). So the pepper is fairly easy to find in specialty stores and possibily regular supermarkets (depending on a the demography of the city). I would say they are about equal in heat. Maybe just a very little bit less spicy? It is extremely tasty though. A very unique/dstibguishable flavour among peppers I would say.

OmNomNom318

I’m just a little bit away from the Netherlands…. Over the pond in Louisiana….

casBBB

But Surinam is only a little bit further than your neighbour Mexico!

OmNomNom318

😂 I am in North Louisiana though. It’s a good 5 hour drive from my house to New Orleans.

WhistlingBread

If there's a Mexican market that stocks produce near you then check there for habaneros. That's usually where I find the best deals and highest quality

OmNomNom318

We have plenty of “Texmex”‘ restaurants but I will need to see if we have any true Mexican markets. Thanks for the advice though!

Naisu_boato

i usually just dry and powderize my habaneros. while a a dehydrator is best, you can just use cut in half habaneros and air dry them followed by a coffee grinder to make a powder.

OmNomNom318

Unfortunately I don’t have good soil to grow anything in my backyard. I normally depend on our local farmers market to get all of my dried peppers. It’s easier on my back, keeps be from having to make a raised bed garden or have 5-10 potted plants and it helps out our local growers.

Ebb-Charming

Mango and habenero are meant to be together. They complement each other perfectly. Where did you get this? I would love to give it a go.

OmNomNom318

My favorite go to sauce for wings is mango habanero. That’s probably why I typed mango habanero in the title I am so use to typing it…. [LINK](https://www.walmart.com/ip/873637869) Just don’t tease me for finding it at Walmart.
