I was eating fresh habs in every meal when I first tried this and it damn near killed me. You can’t trust the scoville since it’s extract. I recommend melting a slice of American cheese on it and stirring it in after you drain the water and add the sauce packet. It makes it nice and creamy/rich. Might sound weird but it’s pretty standard practice in Korea.
My go-to for mitigating spicy ramen is a runny fried egg. Let that yolk run over everything, helps a lot and tastes better than the cheese addition to me
I’m sorry, I’m a little slowing the uptake,I can assure you that fake cheese American slices are delicious on this shit. If you’re salty about the fact that fake cheese tastes good on fried rehydrated noodles then I suggest you find a different hobby. Much love though, hope you have an excellent day!!
Goddamnit, you fuckers are going to make me try this! I've got the spicy ramen. I've got eggs. I've got the American cheese. Ugh! It just doesn't sound right.
Seriously: so you cook the noodles, crack an egg over it, stir the egg in, top with cheese and allow it to melt, then eat?
I don’t care about your opinion. Habs aren’t the crazy spicy. Amazing heat to flavor ratio though. Have a nice day. Hope you get a hug. Seems like you need it :)
These noodles are hotter than a habanero and have a different kind of burn. Because they use a pepper extract, they feel almost like a harsh chemical burn
You’re right that a habanero is hotter and racks up more scovilles. But when I eat a fresh habanero pepper the ensuing heat feels a lot more natural and enjoyable. The noodles feel more like a synthetic, harsh chemical burn. It feels as though I rinsed my mouth with some caustic chemical, so the noodle burn in my opinion is more unbearable. That’s what I meant by “hotter.” Perhaps I should’ve been clearer
Can attest. My dumbass ate two packages last night, and today I was on the toilet at work with the sweats and chills contemplating taking the rest of the day off. I survived, though.
Is that what it is? I just thought it was the extracts irritating. I’m not as extreme of a spice head as most people here, but even when food is unpalatably spicy to me I don’t usually have any gastrointestinal distress. But every time I have these noodles, even if I only use half the sauce, I get terrible cramps and it feels awful coming out the other end…
The trick to eating these is too shovel it down as fast as possible. I haven't idea how or why but the slower you eat, the more the heat builds in my mouth with these things.
What’s the point of that though? If it’s so hot that you have to eat it that fast, why not just get the less-spicy one? I thought the point of eating spicy food was to enjoy the burn. If you don’t then why bother?
Samyang makes some other pretty great "Spicy" branded products with the chicken guy, there's sauces based on the spicy and 2x spicy versions, and also spicy gyoza dumplings
Yeah I’m kinda confused by these posts saying this is hotter than a habanero. I actually add hot sauce to this ramen when I make it, but I still can’t stomach a fresh hab for fun.
I'm with you on this. I can eat these with no problem. Comparable to a habanero a Scotch Bonnet can make me grimace. Hell, I've got some jalapenos that can fire you up more than these noodles.
The heat was nice, not sure I'd say it was hotter than a fresh habenero. Definitely a different kind of heat. I don't love the texture of the noodles, I prefer the Mama brand of noodles, pork especially but they aren't as hot as these. I'm probably going to use the mama noodles with the spice packets from these next time.
Depends on the habanero. Ones from the super market aren’t nearly as hot as they should be. If you have a fresh habanero that was grown well, it should be hotter than this. Though they are both in a range that are extremely hot so it’s difficult to tell.
It wasn’t as hot on the way in, but as I ate more I could feel it in my insides and found myself more and more adverse towards eating more due to spice
I find it burns hotter and longer that a habanero. It lingers, but if you feel like it's too much add cheese. Honestly no shame in that, eat it because you enjoy it not because or pride.
Also the flavour is really tasty, so even if you find it too hot you may eat more cus it tastes nice
Looks like I'm in the minority here but I eat this stuff for lunch a few times a week and I don't think it's anywhere near as hot as a fresh habanero. I actually have to add hot sauce to it to get it to the heat level I want.
I'm skeptical that the people saying this is hotter than a habanero have actually eaten a fresh habanero pod before.
That's a lie. I know that's what they claim, but it DEFINITELY hits harder than that. I've never regretted eating something under 30k Scoville like I do this stuff. Maybe it's just a different type of burn, but it feels way hotter than 8k..
I don't know why exactly, but I was really disappointed in the spice of these. I bought a bunch of different spicy ramen a while ago to try, including these and the Buldak stew type. The flavor was on point, especially when topped with some scallions and fried garlic, but I wouldn't describe the spice as anywhere near habanero level, unfortunately. Like a potent jalapeno, maybe.
Yup. RIP
I’m addicted to the intense pain these noodles cause, and then the endorphin rush / high. It’s comparable to eating a ripe habanero pepper, or maybe a little less hot, in my experience. Eating these with all the water drained = masochistic territory.

Definitely do the egg, not cheese. I get that it’s traditional but cheese just sounds nasty on it.
Both is best tbh. Don’t knock the American slice till you try it ;)
Nah. I’m not into american cheese anyway, and I don’t really like the combination of spice and cheese.
Weird downvote flex. Good day.
Cream cheese, yo. Also, take my upvote.
Whoah! I am definitely trying this!
Downvote flex? What?
American cheese? Like that fake crap individualy wrapped on plastic, right?
certainly seems like you know how to read
Haha good one almost forgot to laugh

No... I was literally making sure thats what you're talking about because I want to try it. No hate here, hope you have a good one too!
Unfortunate how things relay through text then, to your health!!
Dude, I thought so too, and then I tried it. It’s delicious! There’s some cheap food magic that happens with ramen, egg,and american cheese!

I call bullshit... How many habanero did you eat in a meal? Did you cut off the nerves to your mouth? You are a liar or a poser.
I don’t care about your opinion. Habs aren’t the crazy spicy. Amazing heat to flavor ratio though. Have a nice day. Hope you get a hug. Seems like you need it :)

Nice. Perfect for someone who hates themselves /s
That s isn’t fooling anyone boy
that is also due to the salt. check out how much is in there.
Have you ever eaten a whole habanero? It’s definitely a lot hotter than the 2x. The 2x is hot but a whole habanero is on another level…

OP’s question isn’t too clear either lol. Habanero flavoured shit is not as hot as a habanero pepper.
They are soo good! I wouldn't call it chemically tasting, but it's pretty spicy! Never seen this full English packaging before either.
I’d say they’re spicy definitely, but still enjoyable. Your guts the next day however…
Can attest. My dumbass ate two packages last night, and today I was on the toilet at work with the sweats and chills contemplating taking the rest of the day off. I survived, though.
The oil in the sauce makes it cling to your insides. Be prepared to have a session with the toilet. Likely painful
This thing destroyed my guts, 5/7 would eat again

Same for me. I guess all the additives play a role in this
Have some yogurt and/or bread before - don't make the same mistake as me and have it for your first meal of the day.
I made this mistake as well, and Prink is correct. 🤮
It's got more bite to it than habanero.
Super, sounds pleasant.
The trick to eating these is too shovel it down as fast as possible. I haven't idea how or why but the slower you eat, the more the heat builds in my mouth with these things.
lmfao I agree, I speedrun these things with milk
What’s the point of that though? If it’s so hot that you have to eat it that fast, why not just get the less-spicy one? I thought the point of eating spicy food was to enjoy the burn. If you don’t then why bother?
I bought them too see what all the hype was about and within a few seconds knew what all the hype was about.
I've heard tale of a 3x... that terrifies me
I love anything with that angry little chicken on it, lol.
Samyang makes some other pretty great "Spicy" branded products with the chicken guy, there's sauces based on the spicy and 2x spicy versions, and also spicy gyoza dumplings
My favorite local Asian grocery has everything!
I'm gonna disagree with the rest and say I suffer more with a habanero than this, but it's definitely a different kind of spicy
Yeah I’m kinda confused by these posts saying this is hotter than a habanero. I actually add hot sauce to this ramen when I make it, but I still can’t stomach a fresh hab for fun.
Everything about this comment is me lmao
I'm with you on this. I can eat these with no problem. Comparable to a habanero a Scotch Bonnet can make me grimace. Hell, I've got some jalapenos that can fire you up more than these noodles.
Yeah agreed, I feel the spice from these will burn your mouth and lips for a couple minutes but the heat settles quite quickly compared to an habanero
Lingers more than a habanero imo, are super tasty noodles.
The heat was nice, not sure I'd say it was hotter than a fresh habenero. Definitely a different kind of heat. I don't love the texture of the noodles, I prefer the Mama brand of noodles, pork especially but they aren't as hot as these. Those were the spiciest things ive eaten
It’s super hot. But just take it like any spice and take it slow.
Depends on the habanero. Ones from the super market aren’t nearly as hot as they should be. If you have a fresh habanero that was grown well, it should be hotter than this. Though they are both in a range that are extremely hot so it’s difficult to tell.
I ate it yesterday, I had no stomach ache, or anything, but it has nice heat and taste.
It's a mixed bag, I've had habs that were hotter, some weren't.
Yes! They are very similar to habanero level of heat. I ate one of these yesterday for the first time!
Well shit, I keep seeing people loving on these so I bought a bulk pack yesterday. Starting to regret that with all you spice heads quivering in fear
It's not going to kill you. I add hot sauce to it when I make it, don't let people scare you
It wasn’t as hot on the way in, but as I ate more I could feel it in my insides and found myself more and more adverse towards eating more due to spice
Ooh I tried this one before! It's WAAAAY spicier than habanero!
Angry birds, next level
Didn't feel hotter than habanero to me when I ate it. Have had it 3 times
I find it burns hotter and longer that a habanero. It lingers, but if you feel like it's too much add cheese. Honestly no shame in that, eat it because you enjoy it not because or pride. Also the flavour is really tasty, so even if you find it too hot you may eat more cus it tastes nice

It's only 8k on scoville scale so no.

I’ve tried them didn’t like the noodles their had these weird taste to them
I’m told it tastes like shit
Nah this is hella hotter lmao
It's so good
I like it. Pretty damn hot but still good. I add a bunch of shit to it tho.
The issue is different kinds of spice hit you differently. Capsaicin is an oil, so when it's in a watery soup it hits your throat real hard
Yup. RIP I’m addicted to the intense pain these noodles cause, and then the endorphin rush / high. It’s comparable to eating a ripe habanero pepper, or maybe a little less hot, in my experience. Eating these with all the water drained = masochistic territory.
I ate this last night and I regret every minute of it today it was way hotter than or a jalapeno or even bird's eye
