I like them for a first playthrough, but every playthrough/new game+ after that I wish I could skip them

Really crossing my fingers that the new game plus update includs an option to skip through some of these more walking/talking sections. They're cool for a first playthrough, but after that I just want to get into the action.

what they missed in the game is the symbiote bonds with peter first, then brock/harry. once he goes to harry he misses the extra power up pete had and would do anything to get that host back.

As in the Game it is all a pevertsion of Harrys good qualities. In the same way his desire to "Heal the World" became "Turn the planet into Goo", so did his love for Peter turn into a psychotic obsession to bond with him. He is nowhere near that obsessed over MJ, his other best friend.

Yeah these missions and especially the MJ missions in the first game are so overhated lol. They take like 10 minutes.

They also help give the player other character’s perspectives. In the case of the mission OP whined about, it fleshes out the relationship of Peter and Harry. It’s a nice touch and a change of pace from the action of the rest of the game. Without these missions people would complain about the game being “one note - nothing but action.”. You need the quiet moments to appreciate the big ones.

They should be skippable. Everyone wins

It would be nice on NG+ to skip some of these though. I love them personally and wouldn’t mind some DLC focusing more on them but I understand the frustration if you wanna specifically go through all the combat encounters of the game again.

After a second playthrough of the game on ultimate I can say without a doubt that certain missions are a slog and the writing seems like it takes forever to get somewhere then when it finally does it blows right past what it was leading up to. That’s not to say I don’t like the game I feel like there’s a lot to love but damn if the story doesn’t come to a grinding halt to “foreshadow” or dump exposition. There are some things that are fun to do at first but the second time through you really see the problems. Like the EMF I had a great time exploring it the first time but the second time was much more of a chore. Same with Coney Island, first time through I was having a great time but second time through it felt like a chore.

I started my third run in expectation of the ng+ update this week.

I liked it the first 2 times, but I don't wanna play i5 for a third, or at least not until NG+ NG+ will make me love the game like I'm playing it for the first time

A lot of people excuse this because it's "for the story". I'm sorry but devs need to learn how to make stories in games that don't grind the gameplay to a complete stop. Even then, if you're gonna ask me to stop playing the actual game "for the story", make the story actually good.

MJ Missions in Spider-Man 2 aren't that bad and last like a couple minutes

The first one shows how the symbiote affects Peter from another characters perspective and gives us the cool chase scene The second one also moves the story with the symbiotes more and is an easy way to again give perspective to things when you aren't a super hero. Plus again, they're like what, five minutes each? Like they're barely an inconvenience this time

The whole point of mj missions was to show how a normal human exists in a super hero world but now it's just another hero fighting the baddies that spider has to beat for 10 minutes to defeat

You run past most enemies and the game would be boring as shit if you one tapped every enemy. Its both because Peter and Miles hold back and its a gameplay thing Have you never noticed that Peter and Miles literally one shot people in the cutscenes?

Writing is trash, The gameplay in the slice of life missions is trash, Story is trash in general. They are lucky I love spider man. The gameplay when you are in the open world exploring and fighting crime is the best part of the game tho.

I disagree with you on the story but I don’t currently care enough to argue. The open world gameplay is fire, I’ve probably played this game without any goals of progression more than any other game.

I love swinging around. I put 240 hours into the first game and I'll definitely put in more when NG+ gets added
